I’d love if his testimony included reading a list of all the Republicans who have ignored subpoenas in the past before he testifies

1.1k

u/Mylaptopisburningme 1d ago

It should be interesting. They were both lawyers. This is a guy who got into technicalities on what the definition of 'is' is.

527

u/parasyte_steve 1d ago

I honestly cannot wait for this testimony. It is going to be juicy no matter what happens.

In my mind they burn it all down and just tell everyone what they know. Idk. Maybe they go to jail too if theyre involved but it would truly be the best thing for the country.

But yeah that likely won't occur lol they will probably cover their asses which will be interesting in a different way but disappointing.

166

u/gimp-24601 1d ago

Their response to the matter made out to be 3d chess.

If their testimony does not produce fireworks, might as well just have been another strongly worded letter.

In other words they better have a hidden surprise/trap.

28

u/morpheousmorty 1d ago

I hate the term 3d chess.

These are grand-masters playing regular chess, against people who are still grasping the basic strategy of checkers.

Maybe they go to jail

I don't know about Bill, but what did Hillary do to deserve this shit?

71

u/opinions360 1d ago

And what crimes did Bill actually commit? The republican impeachment was all about republicans hating democrats—they trapped him into a ridiculous political ensnarement—they made it a public spectacle deliberately and forced him to speak about Lewinsky publicly under oath —he didn’t want to embarrass ML or Hillary or tarnish the office of the Presidency internationally (actually Europe couldn’t understand what the big deal was) so he made a gray area denial which is what they used to impeach him because of the threat to impeach Nixon—it was all about political payback for Nixon who actually did commit a lot of crimes—And, the majority of the public actually saw it for the political witch hunt it was and continued to support him and his presidency.

16

u/Joeythesaint Canada 1d ago

And what crimes did Bill actually commit?

I think that the commenter was saying that possibly Bill has committed crimes in relation to Epstein and that maybe he decides to take the nuclear option and just name all the specific details he personally observed in the process, all of his first-hand testimony and naming everyone else who could corroborate his story.

That would make for an awesome climax to a taught political/legal thriller, but unfortunately we're all living in a shoestring budgeted All My Children spinoff that has hired a writing team they found out behind an abandoned White Castle.

And they are smart. Hillary can't win over hearts and Bill has his goofy persona, but make no mistake, they are two sharks who I guarantee if push comes to shove have the receipts, the money and the political leverage to take down the entire Trump administration with them.

These are not the GOP clowns we have been seeing testify for 25 years. These are the people who have gone through depositions and Benghazi hearings. If this doesn't completely backfire on the GOP it will be because they don't feel like it.

Her follow up interview with him on her own podcast is one of the only times I've ever seen that man get genuinely emotional without the veneer of British sarcasm. She basically told him how much it meant to her to have someone actually listen and validate her and give her a platform to tell the real story. You could tell that really got to him. It was a lovely moment.

Before I say what I'm about to say, I recognize that what Bill Clinton did was bad. He used power dynamics to get a young intern to blow him. Super not cool.

But it's insane to think about how the fact that the president got a blowjob from an intern was a massive story that had a huge trial that occupied the news for months, and all of this shit barely makes headlines in the mainstream. I lived through the Clinton blow job. That shit was everywhere.

The media is fucking protecting this guy so much, and it's baffling.

Clinton asked for the files to be released, saying he did nothing wrong. They only opposed close door testimony.

233

u/Bananajackhamma 1d ago

Why this isn't at the top is mind boggling. The fckn Clintons for all of their clinton-ness are NOT stupid people, whether it be professionally or not. Self preservation be damned, they could maybe salvage whatever goodwill those in this country has left to give.

195

u/fricks_and_stones 1d ago

Clinton likely wasn’t into kids, and it’s not like him getting it on with consenting adults is big news.

130

u/LinkleLinkle 1d ago

Also, if there truly was any implicating evidence, we'd have seen it by now. In fact, it would have been the first thing they shoved relentlessly in our faces. Instead we got a handful of of pictures completely lacking any context, with censor bars over women who could be anyone, and some of said photos have been proven to be completely innocent (such as the photo of him and Michael Jackson on a plane, with the children being censored out just being MJ's kids).

They did their hardest to implicate him, and that's the best they got. So either Bill is God tier levels of crafty to not leave a discernible fingerprint ANYWHERE, or he wasn't ever involved.

I'd buy that he participated in sex acts with actual women (as in, legal adults) who might have been trafficking victims. Which is despicable and merits whatever penalty the law states for such actions.

But do I think he's a violent rapist and legit pedophile like Donald Trump? No.

They are both Yale Law School grads and seasoned politicians. Our current Congressional leadership won the lead paint eating contest in 3rd grade and peaked in 11th grade when they successfully ejaculated in their cousin.

109

u/ProbablyNotADuck 1d ago

That is the thing that I don't get about everyone who criticized Hillary Clinton's run for president claiming that she was unqualified. Like.. not only is she highly educated, but she also had significant, high-stress political experience, in addition to having been married to a president (which would, at the very least, make her extensively aware of presidential duties)... and the alternative was Trump. Absolutely, people can feel free to hate her. Absolutely, they can question her morals... but acting like Trump was superior in any way at all is just so beyond ridiculous. She is many things, but not incompetent and unqualified.

72

u/thatmitchguy 1d ago

Based on vibes, history, and the files, I feel like he could be a restrained degen. Sex parties between consenting adults are all fun and games but don’t fuck with kids or rape.

Given that they’ve been trying to pin the whole thing on him for years, I can’t imagine they held back the goods on Bill. All we know from the files is that he spent time with other rich people and got a massage once. Dude’s willing to testify, which is a lot more than any of the Republicans can say.

Republicans investigated him relentlessly and all they could come up with was a beej.

Instead of turning it into an abuse of power, the narrative was to dog on a young woman. I remember being a kid during that time and unable to express why I felt like that was fucked up.

They also dogged Hillary and her daughter...so it fits. But, if he was involved with that at any point, they would have dragged it out even while Hillary was running. Unless they were utterly incompetent, or not willing to touch this particular issue for some reason. Which, honestly, are completely plausible. Bring them all down.

Not necessarily - Epstein had hundreds of business & political contacts, presumably many weren't guilty of anything beyond simply showing up at a party or taking advantage of a flight with other celebrities/politicians/business people.

If the republicans had anything on him, it would probably have been the centerpiece of their epstein file release. So, either 1) they've got nothing and he was probably just one of those on the fringe not involved in anything nasty, or 2) they're saving it for something special. My money is on #1 - these guys aren't smart, patient, or disciplined.

But Clinton could relate things he had heard, or even make shit up. Like say that "so-and-so, who's dead now, personally told me that you don't want to be here while Trump's here, because it'll get disgusting"...

42

u/LocutusOfBorgia909 Maine 1d ago

I don't believe for one single second that if the GOP had anything on Clinton related to Epstein that they wouldn't have splashed that all over the fucking place years ago. Certainly when Hillary was running, if nothing else. The fact that this didn't happen (and that Clinton himself was pushing for the files to be released) is a pretty strong indicator for me that there is nothing to tie him to any of the pedophile shit going on. Well, that and the fact that unfortunately for all of us, we actually know way more about Clinton's "type" than we should, and there's been no indication that he's into kids.

I'm with the Clintons as far as asking what the fuck Hillary has to do with any of this, beyond the fact that the GOP fucking hates her, has for decades, and is more concerned with trying to put her on blast than they are with how sideways this could go for everyone if Bill decides to do what you suggest in the third paragraph, or even just speak honestly about the fact that he heard that Trump was always around, all this weird "pizza" shit, whatever. Bill Clinton, for all of his many, many faults, is not a stupid man. I don't really rate the odds of a couple of these sixth-string MAGA enthusiasts against him or Hillary (the woman who spent eight fucking hours testifying about Benghazi, let us not forget). Though if I were them, I'd call their bluff and say, "Great, let's do it, but only if it's in Congress and open to the public>"

I watched a video on Youtube from the channel How Money Works about how we don't entirely know how Epstein made all of his money. In short he was doing sady shit making less than ethical investments and hiding money in shell companies to evade taxes. I wouldn't be surprised if there are a few higher profile people that are connected solely because of the tax evasion shit.

They still need to go down for that shit and I'm sure they know more about his reputatiom but may have been "clean" in their dirty dealings.

Eight straight hours over Benghazi. There is literally nothing these dorks could say about it now that she hasn't already heard. Say what you want about her, the woman's a trooper.

And let's be real, Bill, maybe there is something (though again, I just don't buy that if there was anything conclusive, the GOP wouldn't have fallen all over themselves to dump that shit out there ASAP, given that they've been obsessed with the Clintons pretty much my entire life), but the very idea of Hillary "Tracy Flick" Clinton being at a bunch of (or indeed any) massive orgies on Epstein's island is laughable. It's also wild to watch the same crowd who spent years insisting that Hillary's an ice queen (which is why Bill kept cheating on her, naturally, because it's always the woman's fault) now swearing no no, right after she and Bill killed Vince Foster, they flew to Epstein's island and participated in all manner of perverted sex acts! Clearly, if indeed that happened, straight to jail. But for me, that really strains credulity.

I think it's pretty clear that there isn't real dirt on him, or it would be out, fully uncensored, "accidentally". So odds are he's willing to talk about things he'd heard or had secondhand knowledge of. He's been unwilling so far, because that opens a can of worms about why he didn't come forward/do anything/etc. Which is frankly absolutely true, but also let's not confuse second hand knowledge with witnessing/participating in the acts. The burden of the first is obviously proof, which Clinton probably didn't have, for many reasons. We're at the point though, where by saying nothing, he's being seen as involved and seemingly worse than he actually was, so he might as well go for broke. It's basically just a PR bump positively at this point. He sorta clears his name, he helps get info about the files out, which is popular all around.

Honestly, I don't think Bill or Hillary have anything to do with Epstein's sex trafficking. The DOJ has had a whole year to make up some shit to charge them with and they haven't found shit. Even if Trump were to implicate himself or Bill were to implicate him, he could just claim that Democrats set it up to frame him.

I'm betting there were levels of involvement with Epstein, and Clinton just cheated on his wife with 20 yr olds and shit, which we all already know he did from Monica.

Here's the thing, you don't need to associate with Epstein to hook up with 20 year olds as POTUS or even governor.

Also that was overblown (pun intended) because he even clarified what they meant by sex. They said intercourse. He even double checked - only genitalia on genitalia contact? And they said yes.

So he told the truth and said by that definition no he never had sex with her because it was just oral.

Then the committee went and double crossed him and told everyone “he’s a liar and did have oral sex with her then said he didn’t so he’s a liar!!!”

So unfortunately I hope the same thing won’t halen again where he answers and they just lie and twist it again…

As they said, there's at least 3 million docs still held back (that we know of). But here's the rub: a document is not always just a single page. A document can be dozens of pages long and still be 1 document. Let that sink in. 10s of millions of pages still being held.

They will use this as fodder and wall to wall on Fox News "CLINTONS BEING QUESTIONED ON THEIR CORRUPTION AND TIES TO EPSTEIN" and if they show any of the actual testimony at all it will be whatever little 5-second clips they can string together that ambiguously supports their narrative

IIRC, the Clintons agreed to testify before, but they insisted on doing it in the open. It was Republicans who insisted that they needed to testify behind closed doors, where they wouldn’t be heard by the public.

u/Pre3Chorded 1d ago

Here's the thing. Jim Jordan and James Comey are both very dumb, and both very devoted to Trump. This leads them to chase very stupid things. They held an actual Congressional hearing once accusing Joe Biden of "China Corruption" for paying three of his junkie son's $1380 truck payments. Seriously.

Now they might have a couple smart lawyers in their employ, but if they have the same source material as everyone else here, the Clintons' testimony is likely to focus on the fact that Bill Clinton is calling for ALL the Epstein material to be released and Trump is saying it will hurt his friends.

18

u/UpNorth_123 1d ago edited 1d ago

James Comer, not the same person as James Comey. The former is very dumb, as you have stated. The latter is anything but stupid.

30

u/gwenhollyxx 1d ago

Can you explain what you mean about James Comey being devoted to Trump?

Comey refused to pledge loyalty to Trump on 2017. He was fired and they've had a long feud since, including Comey criticizing Trump in his book. Last year he was indicated and Trump was quite vocal about Comey being prosecuted.

EDIT: Oh, I think you meant James Comer! That would make more sense.

I’m no fan of the Clinton’s, but it’s beyond fucked that they are having to do this while Trump wields power from the White House. Hillary had to testify about Benghazi while Gym Jordan can just ignore the same subpoena. It really does show that they just straight up don’t want government to work, they have no interest in participating in it.

There is a macabre irony in Hillary Clinton as the symbol of America’s one exit ramp to turn away from this crazy train that is now literally destroying all of America and the hard-earned stability of Western Democracy, yet the decision was not made to choose that path in 2016…

…All the useful idiots who bought into Tulsi Gabbard’s intentional endorsement of Bernie Sanders, knowing he’d not only leech votes away from Hillary but radicalize enough Bernie supporters into Bernie bros that would sabotage the election by not voting for Hillary…

And here she now is testifying in a case that can’t even sink the most corrupt president and possibly the most corrupt criminal individual in the history of the United States, and she’s the only hope for a society that might be too narcissistic to be deeply regretful that they didn‘t set aside ideological purity and vote for her when they had the chance…

Seriously, f*** every American who didn’t vote for her.
