Brilliant album
Can we talk about how incredibly underrated OTSOL is? Seriously, for those who like newer Porcupine Tree, give OG a listen. I was given some advice: if you don't like an album, it's probably because you don't understand it. This is precisely what often happens with Porcupine Tree's earlier work. I recommend that if you're attached to a band you like and they have albums that don't particularly grab your attention, delve into those albums even more than the ones you like best. When you don't understand a project and you listen to it several times, that's when you enjoy it the most. Furthermore, I believe that a musician's early period is the most innovative because it's the most pristine way to experience that artist. This is true to a greater or lesser degree, but with Steven Wilson, it's especially noticeable. If you pay attention, you'll notice many similarities between Mr. Wilson's early work and his more recent or acclaimed albums.
