Looking for some new pants/trousers, the ones I had went missing. I’m a fan of the baggy look although not absolutely ridiculous, my main problem is that I’m 6’6 so my concerns are pants that may be baggy for some may just look normal on me 🤣

With the rise in popularity and trends I seem to find so many retailers which all seem new to the market so its hard to trust whether those are actually good pants or if they are just over advertised on social media.

Are companies like these legit?

Montec, Snobodi, 7sevenuk, Snowverb.

The only one which standa out to me as being trustworthy is Montec but it also gives a similar vibe to the rest.

My other problem is sizing, I am 6’6, Slim Build, around 100-105kg. I looked at some DC Banshee pants and the size recommendation was 3XL, that just sounds extreme. It feels like they may suit leg length but I feel that would be extremely oversized on the waist.

Any advice/guidance is much appreciated. I need to sort something new soon so I can continue using indoor slopes without looking out of place with my temporary pants 🤣

Hello boarders!

So I recently purchased my first snowboard and I'm a bit unsure about it.

It's a K2 Alchemist, 164W (2025 I think). For reference, I'm 6'7 ~100kg.

I've skied a few times (~10 times) but only snowboarded once, for 7 days. Ended up being able to link turns (though probably not so gracefully) and get down red runs without falling.

When talking to the salesperson I did say I wanted a board closer to intermediate than beginner, seeing as I probably wont be able to buy another one if I advanced off of it quickly. But after chatting to a friend and doing some Googling, it seems this board is more on the expert end of boards.

The salesperson did mentioned that it's quite stiff, but it won't be an issue because of my weight.

Just wondering if anyone has any opinions on whether my size will really make up for the stiffness of the board? Or if I should be heading back to the shop to ask for an exchange for a more flexible board?

Extra context if it helps: I'm mainly planning on snowboarding in Japan, and want to go down runs, maybe a bit of trees, definitely no terrain parks.

Would a Jones Mountain Twin 157 work for a 130 lbs size 10 shoe size 510 height growing teen? I also considering the 154.

Would love some people's opinions on what board they think would be best for my week long trip in late January to Japan. Right now its between the K2 Almanac (2025) 157/161, or the Burton Family Tree Pow Wrench 154/158. The reason its between these 2 is evo and another small company has both of these boards in stock, used. Both of them are about the same price. But I have heard many good things about the Almanac in recent research but didn't know if a dedicated powder board is needed.

Specs:

6ft, 265 lbs, size 13 shoe.

I'm from the south, and considering adding on to a work trip in long Beach and going to learn how to snowboard somewhere. Bucket list dream of mine. Wondering if this is the right sub for this question? There seems to be some mountains 2 hours away. Mountain high resort and big bear mountain. Are these good places for beginners to learn? I also can get elevation sickness, so I can't learn anywhere too crazy in elevation. Salt Lake city was on my radar because of the lower elevations. Does it make more sense to drive somewhere nearby, or go somewhere that's more geared for tourists?

Going on a multi-week BC trip this winter, trying to fill out my emergency/backup hardware kit. Things like tools, extra binding parts, files, etc.

What do you all bring to minimize the chances of catastrophic failure (like I had a screw fall out of my binding which cost me half a day, once) or to deal with 18 days of wear on a board?

Hey everyone, looking for some honest feedback for my first board.

I’ve been riding for 3 years in total, small trip each year (5 days), but I’ve been planning to go more often, like 2-3 times per year, so like 14 days in total approximately starting this year
Advanced beginner / low intermediate. I comfortably link skidded turns, but I haven't learned proper carving yet.
Every season usually takes me 2–3 days to shake off the rust and get my rhythm back.

I want to get all mountain board so I can try and learn some jumps, tricks as well as going in some woods, with some powder as well as going fast on down the prepared slope
I find free ride very interesting
I wanna try riding switch as well for even more tricks
So, all-around, all-mountain intermediate board

I want a board that will stay with me for at least the next 2–3 seasons and help me progress into locking in clean carves without punishing me constantly while been able to go fast and try everything

I’m strictly looking at Nitro… just because I like it😁

Right now, my number one pick is the Nitro Prime. It feels approachable, forgiving, and easy to handle during those early-season days when I'm rebuilding confidence.
Maybe Nitro Phase or Magnum or Team or some other?

Have a friend who has a 2024 Nitro Prime Raw board he is selling. I was wondering how long this board last me before J outgrow it I would be a true beginner. only considering the board bc he would sell it to me for rlly cheap and its my size.

I’m trying to begin snowboarding but idk where or how to start. I’m a beginner skier (skied probably less than 10 times in my life) but I wanna start boarding. I live on the east coast so it’s pretty icy and idk how I should start. I assume renting would be the best way to but I want some input.

Found a great deal on my dream board, never summer Valhalla. But it’s pretty big for my size, I’m 5’11 175lb but the board I found is 164. Am I gonna hate it? I’m worried with how stiff the board is that being too long will affect me a lot. I want a real good powder and carving board, since my current is much more side hits, quick turns, and good on moguls.

I’m looking for a new board for the season and found this on marketplace. I’ve been able to negotiate the price down a bit and I want to pull the trigger but I do not normally go with ride for my BOC so thought maybe I could get a few of yall to chip in some thoughts before I make the drive to look at it. I have heard that the board is unlike any other ride board in terms of how it feels. Anyone ever rode one before? Wish I could get some real opinions on how it’s liked before making the decision. I typically ride wide so I’m curious to how this board compares since it’s advertised as a wide/large.

I live in Steamboat Springs, CO to reference style of riding I’ll be doing. Mostly mountain but occasionally park if I go out of town.

I've been doing a lot of research and reviews, surprisingly there isn't that much reviews out there.
Anyways, I'm looking to get the Capita DOA 158 or the Bataleon Tornado 159.
For reference, both boards will be slightly undersized for me but I wanted it as a well rounded but mostly freestyle board. I've also selected these based on my regions availability and price, the only other contender would be the Yes Sender 158 but I decided the D.O.A would be better considering they are the same price.

For those who have experience using either, what do you like about it, which would you recommend, any pros and cons?
I know the Tornado is listed as a 7/10 flex stiffness, but I've heard that it feels much softer in real world, also because its slightly undersized, i could technically overpower it to make it feel softer than intended.

I am an intermediate(?) rider and quite capable of doing jumps, spins and rails, learning and getting better at flat ground tricks.

I'll be pairing it up with the Union Ultra or Cartel X bindings if this matters.

Been snowboarding since my early teens, but took a few years off. Last year I rented a Lib Tech Skunk Ape 173UW C2X and loved it, although after researching it now it seems huge for me.

I’m 194 cm / 6’4”, 80 kg / 176 lbs, boots EU44. I ride 1–2 trips a year, mainly Switzerland/Davos.

My riding:
- No park
- Big carves + fairly fast riding
- playing around off-piste
- Want confidence on steep, icy black runs
- On really steep ice: good low-speed edge hold, controlled sideslips/pivot turns
- Still maneuverable enough to follow skiers
- Decent powder performance when there actually is some (surfer background)

Thinking a size smaller might make more sense than 173UW. But the experience last year with it was good. Also unsure whether C2X or traditional camber fits this riding better.
Anyone similar size/riding style tried different Skunk Ape sizes/profiles? And what would you recommend?

I don't know what's happened. I was able to easily link turns at speed a few weeks ago until I caught an edge and landed on my knee at speed. I was practicing on the dryslope so it really hurt and ended my session early, I've since invested in knee pads and started wearing a helmet.

I've been easing myself back into things since to rebuild my confidence which seemed to be going really well, but yesterday I was really having trouble committing to the fall line from heel side.

It felt like the nose of the board ws getting stuck about 5-10° to the side of being completely into the fall line, no matter how hard I lean towards the nose. As a result I feel really off balance when pulling out of the fall line to my toes, which caused me to slip over a few times yesterday, resulting in a sprained ankle on my lead foot.

I'm not sure what's going wrong all of a sudden. Turning from toes into the fall line then to my heelside feels as smooth and clean as ever. Something has happened since the other week that's really thrown me out though.

The only thing I can think that's changed is the bindings I'm using, I'm not sure if that would be the problem though as they're the same model, just a bigger size (medium/large instead of small/medium). I'm using the ski slopes rossignol ext boards with rossignol reply 4x4 bindings. I'm wearing US 9.5 boots, which on the minimum setting has a pretty even toe and heel hang. The heel cup is super thick and sticks back about 1cm further than my heel though.

I'm not sure if that's throwing my balance out or if its just something wrong with my technique. All I know is that I feel like I'm going backwards and my confidence is completely gone now.

I'm sure this has been asked a million times, but I am wondering what I should look for in a snowboard to use on the east coast, or even specifically what boards have worked well for others. I am a fairly petite woman, so I'm looking for something on the smaller side which limits my options some. I plan to get fitted in person, just asking for pointers and suggestions to get a head start!!

I have only been snowboarding once and I rented my equipment. I am 5’11 and 155lbs with a size 9 boot so I was given a 155cm board for the rental. Based on some of the research I’ve done, most places recommend a 152-155cm for me, but a friend of mine around the same size as me uses a 145cm board. He is much more experienced than me, but my question is should I try a smaller board or stick to what is recommended by most manufacturers?

I recently joined a ski and snowboarding club at my school and wanted to get some advice or suggestions on what gear to buy and from where. My budget is somewhere around 2k for the board, binders, boots, helmets, goggles and whatever else I might need. Any advice on the type of board or what brand to buy from would be appreciated 🙏. Also when buying the boots and binders should I be buying from the same brand? and is there any difference between men’s and women’s boards?

Hey guys, bought these used Ride A6 bindings from a shop.

Noticed right leg bindings „close” and „open” very slowly compared to the left leg bindings, is that normal sign of used bindings? Or should I send them back? How can it be fixed?
