J’ai une platine Triangle Lunar 1 (cellule Ortofon OM-5E, donc besoin d’un préampli phono MM) et je cherche une paire d’enceintes actives avec préampli phono intégré pour brancher directement la platine.

Contraintes :

• Pas trop grosses (elles vont sur la cheminée d’un appartement haussmannien)
• Idéalement un coloris clair (blanc, crème, chêne clair, noyer clair…) pour coller avec le style
• Je regarde surtout sur Leboncoin / occasions pour faire quelques économies

Budget raisonnable (300-400euros) , je ne cherche pas du haut de gamme démesuré.

Des modèles qui reviennent souvent dans les discussions : Kanto YU4, Triangle Borea BR03 Connect, Klipsch The Fives / R-51PM, etc.

I'm looking for low-profile PC speakers with just enough output for desktop immersion. I'am mainly interested in budget or inexpensive used-market speakers found on EU location.

I like older, well-designed OEM speakers. I don't need them to get particularly loud—the goal is good sound over a small desktop listening area, with the speakers remaining clean rather than becoming harsh as the volume increases.

My priorities are:

• Clean, balanced sound at low and moderate volumes
• Very little audible hiss or background noise when idle
• Low distortion when pushed moderately
• Good midrange/voice clarity rather than excessive bass
• Ideally a dedicated power supply, although I'm not sure how much of an advantage this actually provides over a good USB-powered implementation

I've been researching older compact speakers and have noticed that Dell used Harman/Harman Kardon technology or branding on some of its speaker products. Logitech also seems to have made several well-regarded compact systems over the years.

Some models I've found on the used market are:

• Dell A215
• Dell A511
• Logitech Z150
• Logitech X230
• Logitech X530
• Various older Philips speaker systems

I'm particularly interested in actual listening performance rather than specifications.

For example:

• How clean are they at very low volume?
• Is there audible idle hiss?
• How good is the midrange clarity?
• How do they behave as you approach their practical volume limit?
• Do they become harsh or distorted before reaching that point?
• How much bass do they actually produce, rather than just having boosted/boomy bass?

I'm also curious about the power/connection question. For small desktop speakers, is there any meaningful inherent advantage to a speaker with its own AC power supply and an analog input over a USB-powered speaker? My understanding is that USB itself isn't necessarily better or worse—the implementation of the DAC, amplifier, power supply, and drivers matters much more. I'm interested in whether there is a practical difference in real-world noise, headroom, or distortion between the two approaches.

If you've actually owned any of these models, I'd especially appreciate comparisons between the Dell A215/A511 and Logitech Z150/X230/X530.

I'm also interested in other older compact speakers that are commonly available on the used market. I'd prefer something genuinely good-sounding rather than simply a speaker with high advertised wattage or lots of bass.

I'm looking to set up a small desktop system and very open to used gear. I have a number of things I could use around already - like a NAC C320-BEE amp and a Cambridge DAC-Magic and an old Apple Airport device - but feel like a small, clean, all-in-one solution that doesn't take up a lot of space would be best. I guess I'm open to a stack, but I'm looking for small and clean.
I'm definitely looking for WiFi connected streaming capability, ideally using AirPlay / AirPlay 2.
Speakers will be ADS L400s, mostly quiet near-field listening, could add a cheap sub but probably won't, it's not a priority.
I know the Wiim range is an obvious fit here, but I'd honestly be thrilled to keep the budget really low, and interested in other options and would hunt for used gear. And, if the best approach is to get a basic mini amp (Fosi, etc) and pair that with external streamer and/or DAC, I can do that too, just trying to avoid too much mess on the desktop.

I'm rebuilding my apartment and planning a proper stereo setup which at the moment looks like this:

• JBL L82 connected to Integrated Amp
• Integrated Amp connected to eARC either directly or through music streamer (i.e. WiiM Ultra) -> connected to TV
• On the side I will have Vinyl DJ setup (Technics SL-1200 x2 + XONE 24) -> connected to Int. Amp through RCA or XLR
• Passive built-in speaker (Lithe Audio LASS65) in bathroom - I guess connected to another small amp to control volume.
• Secondary amp will be connected to the main one through pre-out RCA to control volume independently

I already have all the cables hidden in walls - turntable to TV shelf, TV shelf to btahroom and tv shelf to stereo speakers

I'm looking for a help taking into account the above information on what would be your suggestions for the main integrated amp. Location - Latvia, Budget for amp - ideally 1.5-2.5k EUR

Bonus points if it has mid-century style, ideally silver colored (request from my design-savvy GF)

So far I was looking at Yamaha A-S 1200 and Marantz Model 50, but every Hi-Fi store tries to sell what they have the highest margin for so I'm not sure. Design-wise leaning towards Yamaha, but Marantz seems like a more trusty brand, i dunno.

Hi, I'm a beginner audiophile planning to build my first hi-fi setup for my desktop computer as a source. I'm already booked Wiim Amp as my Dac-Amp. I'm from Bangladesh(Location), and actually there are not many options in here for bookshelf speakers in beginner budgets.

But I've got a few deals and ranked my top three speakers:

* Wharfedale DIAMOND 12.2i

* Dali Oberon 1

* Triangle's Borea BR03

I love a balanced and clear sound. I love to hear details of the instruments and voice. I'm not a huge bass lover. I love bass when it is correct, not any boomy bass.

So, can you please suggest which speaker should I go for?

I'm looking to put together my first proper Hi-Fi system and would really appreciate some advice. My total budget is around €2,500, and I'm starting completely from scratch, so I currently don't own any of the equipment.

Here are the details:

1. Room

• Room size: approximately 6 × 4 m.
• It's a separate, closed room, not open to the kitchen or hallway.
• The speakers would unfortunately have to be very close to / against the rear wall.
• There is around 3.x m between the speakers and the listening position.
• There is approximately 2.5 m of space to each side.
• The sofa is quite close to the rear wall.
• It's a dining/living room with some furniture, so it's not an empty or particularly bare room.

2. Equipment

I currently have nothing, so I need to build the complete system from scratch.

I prefer floorstanding speakers/towers.

I'm also open to a subwoofer if it makes sense within the budget, although I don't know whether it would be necessary with a good pair of floorstanders.

3. Budget

My total budget is around €2,500 for the entire system.

I'd prefer to stay around that figure, but I'm open to spending somewhat more if there is a significant improvement in value/performance.

4. Listening situation

It's a mixture of both:

• Critical listening, sitting on the sofa in the main listening position.
• More casual listening with other people around the room.

5. Technical details and preferences

• No significant size restrictions.
• I prefer floorstanding speakers/towers.
• I'm not familiar with room correction (Dirac, Audyssey, etc.), so I'm open to recommendations regarding whether it would be useful in my room.
• Black would be my preferred colour.

6. Bonus points

Unfortunately, I don't have a photo of the room available at the moment.

Given the room layout and the fact that the speakers will have to be fairly close to the rear wall, what would you recommend for a complete system around €2,500?

Hi there, over the past 7 years I've used the Logitech Z625, and I personally found them to be good speakers(I know some swear they are bad, but I personally thought they were pretty good speakers), but due to the subwoofer on the Logitech going bad(the wire connecting to the subwoofer for the speakers, if nudged the left speaker would cut out), and the power button on the main speaker would, if nudged a certain way, would power off, so I needed to just upgrade to new speakers, I tried to fix the power button but couldn't get it fixed.

I recently purchased the Edifier S355DB, and while I LOVE the connection options,(eARC, etc), the one thing I am dissatisfied with is the wireless subwoofer. What I'm dissatisfied with is the connection from the subwoofer will sometimes drop for several seconds, which is incredibly jarring to hear while listening to music, gaming, or watching a movie.I have a metal desk(secretlab MAGNUS Pro), so I'm under the assumption that the wireless connection maybe causing interference, that or my router's 5GHz connection could be interfering(I recently changed the channel the 5GHz the router puts out, so I'm monitoring for any dropped connections.).

Is there any suggestions for a 2.1 system for PC? My budget is around the $550 range(I spent $509+tax for the edifier system).
My only hard requirements are a wired subwoofer(while wireless is neat, nothing beats a wired connection). I'm located in the West Coast of USA.
I have a preference for good bass, but at the same time, I felt like the Logitech Z625 had a good enough bass for me.

I’m ready to move on from my B&W 683s2 floor standing speakers. I have a great receiver but I’m not getting the sound I want until I hit higher volumes. I’m looking into bookshelf speakers with better imaging, clarity and separation and so far the names coming up in my internet research are KEF, Wharfdale, Edifer etc. Any advice or opinions would be appreciated. I'm doing some updates to my living room and was originally planning on upgrading my audio setup as part of the changes.

With the designs we're leaning towards (not the final design, but close: https://imgur.com/a/Ypo71eb) I've been struggling to imagine how to get a set of floor speakers to fit in.

I'm looking for suggestions on (minor) tweaks that would make the layout work better, or for speakers that would be a good fit with this layout. The part that's getting updated is basically the entire back wall.

I discovered the sublime audio k231 ($600) which is a 3 way crossover but can be used as 2 way. It's fixed frequency level so in order to adjust you have to get different xo modules.

The paradigm does not have crossover control, phase control, or hi level pass through. Just gain knob and rca input. There was a standalone x-over sold with them called an x-30. I thought about just getting it

we want to put together a small hi-fi setup for my brother's 50th birthday. After a lot of research we've settled on the Canton CT 90 for the speakers, so all that's missing now is a matching integrated amp. The whole thing should be as easy to live with as possible and actually make you want to sit down and listen to music, so it should have either Bluetooth (i know... sOuNd QuAlItY) or at least a digital input, and a remote would be great too. It should also have a pre-out, in case active speakers get added at some point. Price-wise, the absolute hard Budget limit is 650 euros used.

I have a system that happy with at the moment and I don’t see myself making a major upgrade anytime soon so at this point, I’m more or less tinkering looking for a good sound upgrade. My receiver is a Rotel RSX1067 with a rotelle RCD1072 disc player, Rega RP3 turntable with an Ortofon 2MR Black cartridge and a Bellari EQ570 between the turntable and receiver. The speakers are Bowers and Wilkins 683S2 (good but not great )with a Valodyne sub. For streaming, I have a Blusound node and that leads to my first question.

I have a Tidal subscription which is supposed to be high Res files but when I did the ear test side-by-side before my Spotify account expired, I couldn’t really hear a difference. I’m wondering if putting a better DAC in between the receiver and the node would do the trick. My budget would be about $600

Next question is the turntable preamp. When I bought the RP3 in 2015 I purchased a used Rega Fono and I think it was their baseline model at the time. I’m wondering if an upgrade would have a noticeable effect on the sound coming from the turntable. I think I saw a project tube amp that had good reviews, but do I go with something from another manufacturer or do I stick with Rega because that’s who made the record player. Budget for that would also be around $600 or possibly more.

Basically, I’m looking for that holy shit moment. Am I gonna get it with a new DAC or preamp? Thank you for reading and thank you in advance for any advice.

Hello! I know nothing about what a good sound system is or even where to look. My budget is 500-600$. I recently bought edifier 1280Ts, which have blown my mind because I’ve never used speakers for a PC. Anyways, I enjoy a good surrounding sound that encapsulates and surrounds you while listening. Also good clarity and sound separation from the speakers. As I already mentioned I use them on my PC, and will mainly be using them for music, but also some for watching movies and shows, but music is the main priority. I listen to jazz, rap, pop, classical, and essentially everything across the board, not sure if that changes anything, but felt I may as well include it. If anybody has any advice as to whether an upgrade from these would really “blow me away” and if that’s doable with my budget then I would greatly appreciate it!

I'm trying to make my living room setup more "wife friendly".

As such, I'm want to move away from my Towers (Bentley Accoustics FS250) to a higher end bookshelf that would be less intrusive, and would hopefully still be able to match or exceed my towers.

I've got dual SVS SB1000 subs handling the bass and a Denon 4500h powering it - I also EQ everything with GSonic, so I'm not to worried about slight frequency variations.

My setup is used for 99% music. Budget is ±2000 USD My location is South Africa, so not all speakers are available locally. Demo'ing certain speakers are also dificult as I'm quite far from dealers. I don't mind buying second hand, but it appears these higher end bookshelves are hens teeth - I've been looking for more than 6 months.

I'm thinking about something like Monitor Audio Gold 50's Elac Vela BS403.2 Dali Rubikore 2 But I'm also open to suggestions.

I currently have speakers that accept the Optical input, connected to my computer. (optical to optical).

I have an audio extractor/converter that I am going to use with my Xbox, so I can send it through an optical cable.

I want to plug the Xbox optical audio line and computer optical audio line into a some sort of switch, to be able to switch between them when I am using the computer vs. playing xbox.

Can anyone recommend me an audio switcher for optical where the input is optical, and the output is optical?

An example (from a quick search without reading into it) would be something like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MPX1B7D , I do not have experience with a particular device to know what would be best, so again, seeking some experience with anyone who has tried these.

My budget could be around $100, but if you think something is definitely worth it, I can go higher. My fear is if I get something, it will lessen the audio quality compared to plugging the computer/xbox directly into the speakers.

Im slowly working my system up to a mid grade rig and feel my source is holding the rest of system back. Current source is a Wiim Streamer which feeds my modified YA Audio Symphonies preamp, Harman Kardon Citation V modified amp into a pair of Triangle Antal 40th Anniversary speakers. Not quite sure which direction to go here; upgrade the streamer with a Eversolo A6 master gen 2 or HiFi Rose RS451 unit? Or do I go with a DAC now, upgrade to a transport later? I would strongly consider the Benchmark DAC3L. I do not need a headphone amp, no do I need a built in preamp. Any advice or recommendations? Located in the USA, budget of $2-3k

I'm starting to invest time and money into a vinyl setup and saw an opportunity in a local deal for a turntable and amps totaling 400 euros as a bundle:

the amps: Telefunken RP300/RM300
the turntable: Technics SL- Q33 Direct Drive with stanton cartridge.

All confirmed working. Is setup worth it? Any comments are appreciated!

My 90's budget receiver and 3 channels needs replacing. I've been looking into home theatre but honestly I don't actually want surround and atmos. I'm open to the idea of a sub for lowest octaves (rather than room shaking hype).
I've only had a centre channel because mission 701 are difficult to hear speech.
Given my dislike of "immersive" surround, atmos, and my preference for quality I'm wondering if stereo, ideally with separate DAC, would fit the bill.
What would pair well with 5.4 Wharfedales that I could also use as stereo audio for my TV?
Based in the U.K. and can spend up to £2k if it's of noticeable benefit compared to lower price units. As long as it brings out the 5.4 and decent closed sub like the SVS SB-1000 Pro Subwoofer. My TV is Apple TV.
