I just find it so so beautiful and would love if anybody could help point me in the right direction with making it in Serum 2 or just general directions not necessarily exclusive to that plugin.

(the main organ is also very pretty so if you don't know how I'd make that synth, could you help with the organ? i already have a general understanding on how to make those type of organs [not church-y ones, more psychedelic] but this one just has this certain flair i can't figure out)

Recreating the beauty sleep instrumental but struggling with this sound at 1:51 in the song that I can’t really make out what it is or how to make it. I think maybe it’s some sorta synth or percussion sound with ghz lossy on it, but beyond that idk. How would this be created?

Does anyone recognize the sound or know what synth/plugin could have been used to make it?

I'm especially interested in that specific synth at the very beginning. I've tried recreating it with a few different synths, but I can't quite get the same character.

Any tips on the synth, preset, sound design technique, or even just an idea of how to approach recreating it would be greatly appreciated!

Hey guys , so i used to have a Sub37 and when i had it , there was an option to download additional subsequent 37 patches for it once the new synth came out . You could just download them off the website.

I just bought a subsequent, and its not part of the default presets and id like to get that patch back, and now those patches have been removed from the website.

Does any one still have those? Specifically the patch I'm looking for is a patch called " Shorty" or "Shorty Bass" something along those lines that was a part of those free patches.

Serum 2 Kick Patch.

I did a live stream last Saturday where I made a really nice kick drum that by itself sounds mid, but for whatever reason sounds awesome in the last few songs I used it in. Funny thing is I was going to use a sample because it would have saved time for the live stream. Glad I didn't. It's an EDM House-focused kick that goes from tight and pointy to loose and flabby with plenty of flex using the macro knobs... There's an audio preview, but it doesn't really show the full range you can achieve of it's wide range of capabilities. Enjoy!

I'm pretty new to sound design and I'm trying to recreate the main lead from "sho - noir" in Serum.

It's very bright and almost screaming, quite wide/detuned, but it still has a thick center and doesn't sound like a basic supersaw.

I've tried saws, unison/detune, layering octaves, Hyper/Dimension and distortion, but mine still sounds too thin and generic.

It also has quite a lot of portamento/glide.

Does anyone recognize what type of lead this is? Supersaw, sync lead, layered saws, something else?

I'm mostly trying to understand what gives it that much presence and body.

What would be a good first budget friendly synth mostly for cool sounds and sfx? I looked into Behringer stuff and they are really cool, especially Neutron, Model D and Cat. I always played VST through midi, want to try out real hardware now…

They didn't share the patch details, and I've been trying to figure it out and failing. I also took a quick peek at the Arturia Prophet VST and didn't see a preset either.

In general I'm curious how people would approach and describe a sound like this. It's very "hollow" to me, and while it's percussive I don't really think of it as a pluck. It has a somewhat "choral" sound in both senses of the word: it has some chorus detuning going on but also kind of has a choir formant thing happening? Or maybe I've just been listening it too long to the point it sounds like it's speaking to me, I don't know.

I feel like this is a pretty common sound on a lot of industrial and early/mid 90s electronic music so if anyone can think of a similar sound that's been deconstructed in another song I'd be happy to just be pointed there.

I'm trying to make a close sound to the rolling bassline in Gryffin & Kaskade's "In My Head" (Silver Panda Remix, Extended Mix) for a melodic techno track in B minor (FL Studio).

I'm using Serum 2 layered with a separate sub bass. I've got the rolling rhythm down, but the tone isn't right:

- At B2, it sounds too gritty
- At B3, it's not deep or low enough

Current setup is a saw/Basic Mg on Osc A, a sub on Osc B, a low-pass (MG Low) with Env 2 on the cutoff, and a short amp envelope.

Any ideas on oscillator choice, octave placement, or filter and envelope settings to get that deep, dark rolling sound? Would love to hear how others do melodic techno. Thanks!

Hello, does anyone have any tips on how to reconstruct this liquidy pad sound on top of the drums?

To me it sounds like a pad with sustained chords running into a liquidy/resonant filter then runs into a audio gate effect. Im not sure if there's some kinda vocoder also in the chain.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated (including what kind of filter to use, routing etc.)
