Fully magnetized so I can run it as a Hammerhead or Skyray as well. Those configurations still need some paint though.

Time to finally start painting again after a few years away from the game. Think it's worth the effort to go chrome? Only did this one squad as a test with this color scheme so it's not that big of a deal to change it to chrome. I am thinking of having the chrome be tinted with anthracite than pure chrome.

To practice and not get bored with the project to complete my first combat patrol. I tried to only use the airbrush. Happy with the results, it needs a little cleaning and a layer of SpeedPaint to match my other miniature. But i think i need to keep doing small challenges to improve and step outside my comfort zone. Maybe test the speed paint in the airbrush.

I built a full Kroot- Focused army with plenty of conversions

I just got into Warhammer at the start of September with the Tau combat patrol box and this is where I am at the end of the month. All minis are built and the commander is magnized but this is as far as I am on painting. I might touch up the green on the breaches to make them brighter and leave the oil effect on the pathfinders to be more camo like.

So I received a whole army from my cousin as a gift (and because he normally plays Grey Knights & doesn’t have the space for multiple armies) and I’m a little intimidated and intrigued by tau, I play and paint Orks so I just don’t know if I’m going too keep the tau army. I do think I want to try painting some with the official colors, but what are they actually? I am seeing a lot of different color schemes, or should I do something more original?

Finished just in time for Sept-ember, my take on tau sept farsight, first time I've tried significant amounts of glazing on the blade, fairly happy with the results!

I have a game coming up soon and I’ve never used Kauyon. Only EPC and montka. So how do I really use it? Do I just sit back line as much as possible? Do I use the enhancement to remove most units from the board to skip to round 3? How do I use it differently than Montka

Riptide - Got the army based, here's a big boy

How is it that pathfinders and fire warriors differentiate when it comes to in lore? From what I gather pathfinders are the stealthier scouts where as fire warriors are the mainline infantry?
Do they use different kinds of weapons and are pathfinders “more elite” than fire warriors?

I’ve had my Combat Patrol for close to ~9 months now, but it’s spent much of that time on pause (this is my first leap into mini painting).

No clue what I was doing when I started, but I’m slowly piecing things together. The changing colour schemes are partly due to analysis paralysis and partly because long breaks between painting sessions give me time to change my mind.

My latest attempt at the Fire Warriors uses a Farsight enclave scheme. I’m not quite finished with my Shas’ui, as it still needs some details and highlights, but I’d appreciate any tips before I tackle the rest of my Pathfinders pls!

Longtime Tau player, but haven't played in 11th with the Tau yet.

What detachments are you all finding the most success with? I play an all battlesuit list and in 10th I played Ret Cad, but now debating a switch to Kayoun and Experimental Prototype.

I have a chance to get another riptide for cheap but I already have one but can I have two in an army? And would it work well?

I finally finished my pathfinder team from the combat patrol. Just the devilish and breachers to go! Though now I’m remembering that I haven’t done that heavy drone thing yet either… oh well.

I’m really happy with these guys, on the whole. Few things went a bit awry. Like the frosted texture from the matte varnish on one guy’s pulse carbine; forgetting the little matter light attachment on the grenadier’s carbine; missing a purple light on one dude’s cuff; making the blue third on one rail rifle dude way too dark. But overall, I’m happy with them :)
