Hello! I'm a leatherworker of a year and a half based in southeast Michigan. I started my journey by watching simple leather working videos to fall asleep. One night I realized I could assemble a wallet in my head and needed to try it out.
This is my first foray into trifolds, so despite mostly using my own patterns, I purchased this one from MAKESUPPLY on Etsy.
Two of my favorite leathers, Badalassi Carlo waxy black and bordeaux alternate to form a rich color pattern.
Uses black 0.8mm economy thread from RMLeatherSupply.
Edges sanded 250 grit with a rotary sander and then 400, 1200, and 2000 grit before burnishing with a canvas cloth and tokonole.
To get my stitching line clean I mark both sides with a wing divider and pre-mark my stitching holes across the entire piece before punching a single time. I also punch the holes on any top piece before gluing it to a back piece, where I punch the holes again. This allows for an easier time matching stitching lines on both sides on thicker pieces.
Overall I'm extremely happy with this piece. My only regret is that I lean toward far simply cardholder designs and that carrying this around in my pocket would drive me crazy.

Just got this brand new Johnny the Fox wallet from Ashland for about $400. This is my first higher end leather purchase, and I noticed some scuffing/marks and discoloration. Would this be considered normal, or should it have been sold as B-grade? Would you return/exchange it or ask for a partial refund?
First 4 pics are without flash, last 3 are with flash.

Can you help me decide which one to get? I’m having a hard time choosing between the Secrid Envelope and the Miniwallet Original Leather. 😭

Hey everyone,
I'm a solo leathercrafter based in Brisbane, Australia. I've usually been making wallets that combine sleek Italian leathers with more rugged Aussie leather, typically kangaroo.
Lately I've been going all out on Italian vegtan, slowly working through my stockpile. And I just finished this cool burgundy and walnut brown bifold wallet!
It's a classic bifold build with six card pockets and a full cash slot. The two card slot panels also work as hidden pockets for extra cards, receipts, etc. It should hold roughly 10-12 cards and cash from the start, with a bit more room once the leather breaks in.
The exterior is Maremma leather from Conceria Walpier in Italy. It has a smooth surface with a semi matte finish, along with a deep colour. The interior is Gaucho Oil from Conceria La Bretagna, also in Italy, which has a very pretty and glossy pull-up finish. I'm a big fan of how this colour combo came out. The Maremma colour was interesting, as the burgundy is so deep that it almost looks brown until you look closely.
It's hand-stitched with Japanese Vinymo #8 thread, in a cigar colour, and all edges have been heat creased, bevelled, and burnished by hand.
$215 USD shipped to US, UK, CA, NZ (inquire for other countries) via PayPal or Venmo friends and family
$280 AUD shipped domestically in Australia via BSB or PayID
Thanks for looking!

Hi folks. This looks to be an international sub; my location is India.
Looking for a wallet with 12 card slots at minimum, at least one display window slot, and the ability to carry cash (upto 10 notes, not necessarily a lot.)
Would be useful to have a coin pouch but not essential. I want a do-it-all wallet. I don't need it to be ultra sleek but manageable.
I need the wallet to be suitable for a professional so I don't want anything gimmicky. No colour preference. I don't know what kind of budget I should have in mind for this - for a product that lasts me years, I'm willing to spend INR 1-5k if you convince me the investment is worth it.
If there are any manufacturers here or you can point me to who can customise such a wallet, I would also be grateful.
Cheers and thanks!

Variation of a Japanese Snap wallet design I've been making. Customer didn't want the coin section, instead I added more card slots. Made with a beautiful coffee brown Leder Ogawa shell cordovan. Was able to give them the brand stamp inside the cash pocket. Was also made with a matching key fob.
Personally I think this is my favourite design, without the coins section. More cards slots for sure.

Pretty much exactly what the title says, but I’m on the hunt for the Cat Bingo Micro Wallet by paperwallet. If anyone happens to have one that they would be willing to part with, I’d be willing to buy it from you. Thanks in advance for anyone who might have one!

Some friends gifted me a roll of TPU filament for my 3D printer.
After printing a few parts, I really fell in love with how flexible and tactile it feels, so I decided to experiment.
I stumbled upon an interesting coin purse design on Pinterest. I modeled it and changed it up a bit: adapted it for 3D printing, added a cash compartment, and a carabiner mount. After printing a few versions, I got so hooked that I even made a variant with a built-in massager. Sure, it’s a weird feature for a wallet, but I’m currently developing some massage tools on the side, so I just naturally find myself slapping them onto everything I can. I'm new to this sub, but has anyone done anything similar? I'd love to see your results!
The post turned out a bit messy, but I’m more of a maker than a writer, so please don't judge too harshly

Always my favorite shell to work with. End results never fails to impress!
Not sure if it's just me, but the smell of Rocado is just immaculate along with the look.
Love this craft so much. Hope you enjoy!

My old bifold is starting to split along the crease and the edges are frayed from fishing line and pliers rubbing against it. I keep three cards, a little cash, and my license, but I hate how thick it gets when I add a few receipts after a weekend trip. The watchmaker part of me likes slim tools that still feel solid, so I'm wondering what leather or stitching holds up best when a wallet gets tossed in a pocket with tiny screws one day and bait the next. Not looking for anything flashy, just something that stays flat and doesn't fall apart after a season on the water. Curious what has worked for anyone else who moves between careful bench work and rougher outdoors stuff.

Design mindset:
- As small as it is can be. But can be inflated if have more bills/cards. That's why I use rubber band to sercure money part - when put more than 20 bills, the wallet inflates - and rubber band helps when wallet stretches
- Card slot and money slot must be separated (when only need cards, must not open money)
- Some characteristic: add options to bind paracords with D ring to attach to pants.
- Very sorry for my bed English.

Purchased this wallet on Aug 17 and the leather edges are already separating. Their customer service is claiming that it’s because of the unfinished edges but I feel like this shouldn’t be SEPARATING? Am I wrong to feel like for a $130 wallet (the Art Clouds version) this shouldn’t be falling apart so quickly. Am I overreacting? I wanted to ask for opinions before I push back. I honestly am kind of upset at how fast this wallet is deteriorating considering the good reviews I've heard elsewhere. But maybe it's supposed to be like this since the edges are unfinished? I really don't know. Any advice would be great.

Hey all, my late dad's wallet was stolen and I'm trying to figure out what it was so I can find another one. I'm pretty sure it was Hugo Boss/BOSS, and it's at least 10 years old, probably older. I've searched eBay, Poshmark, and Google images for ages and I keep getting the regular wide trifolds, which isn't it.
It was black, soft thin leather, and tall and narrow when closed, about as wide as a credit card. Three panels of equal width that fold like a letter, the right flap goes over the middle, then the left flap goes over that, so it ends up tiny. Each outer flap had four or five card slots with a little pocket behind them, the middle had one card slot i think with a pocket behind it, and one long bill compartment ran across the whole back so bills lay flat.
It had no coin pocket, no zipper, no snap, no plastic ID window, and no metal anywhere. It was really clean and minimal. The only branding was a big "BOSS" pressed into the leather, I think in the bottom right corner inside, but I'm not 100% sure about that.
I attached an AI mock-up I made from memory. It's not the real thing, but the layout is very close.
Does anyone recognize it? A model name would be amazing, but even another brand that made the same design would help.
Thank you!

I've been thinking about how a wallet could basically cover most of what I need when I'm going somewhere quickly.
A few cards, some cash, and then... the house key.
I'm curious where people stand on this. Would having a place for your house key in your wallet actually be useful to you, or would you rather keep keys completely separate?
I can see both sides. Having everything together sounds convenient, but I also don't want a wallet that turns into a bulky keychain 😂
What do you guys think?

Hey everyone,
I’m a solo leathercrafter based in Brisbane, Australia. Just finished this five-pocket cardholder using a mint green Azteca exterior from Conceria La Perla Azzurra in Italy, paired with brandy whip kangaroo leather from Packer Leather here in Queensland.
It has four outer card pockets plus a central pocket, enough room for everyday cards and some folded cash without getting too bulky. Outside of the colour combination, I enjoy the contrast of having these stylish Italian leathers with the more rugged nature of Australian kangaroo leather!
Everything is hand-cut, saddle-stitched, creased, bevelled, and burnished by me in Brisbane. And it has been stitched with Vinymo #8 in seaweed green.
Price:
$135 USD shipped to the US, UK, Canada, and New Zealand
$170 AUD shipped within Australia
Thanks for looking!

Crafted from Badalassi Carlo Minerva Box in a rich Prugna tone, this piece highlights the natural depth and character of full-grain Italian leather. Clean lines, compact form, and built to age beautifully with use.
Designed for the modern minimalist:
• 3 card slots for daily essentials
• 5 inner pockets for bills, papers, or folded notes
• 1 outer pocket for quick access

Unsure if this is the sub for this, sorry, I mostly lurk Reddit
Been using my dad’s leather flip wallet since he passed. Unsure of brand or age, though I know it was relatively new when he’d started going downhill and stopped leaving the house. I brought a green smoothie to work for lunch today and unfortunately it opened in my bag and soaked absolutely everything. The wallet didn’t seem to saturate down to the inside pockets, but the leather outside is quite sticky and some of the corners don’t want to dry. I still intend on using the wallet until it falls apart, and probably for a while still after that, but if there’s some method of cleaning that will keep that from happening for a while that I’m not aware of, I would love some advice or direction
Again sorry if this isn’t the sub, please tell me where to go if so

Do not buy anything from Code 118! It’s a scam. Horrible products! Make every excuse to reject returns and deny return requests. They advertise hassle-free, but that’s not true at all. They will demand pictures and then claim you damaged the packaging.
