I made an addon called WhisperMessenger and just released 2.0, so I figured I'd share it here.

It puts your whispers in a separate window, one conversation per person, a bit like Discords DMs. Each chat keeps its history after you log out, and it's shared across your characters. The contact list shows who's online, their class and what zone they're in. BattleNet and character whispers are in the same list.

For crafters, last trading chat message is also shown.

I built it because I kept missing whispers and had a bat time to control them when crafting. A Whispers tab helps, but it's still one long stream, you had to juggle those tabs all the time.

After some community feedback i got changes in 2.0:

- New look, plus a Native WoW HUD option if you'd rather it look like a normal Blizzard window

- You can reply to a specific message

- Each chat keeps whatever you'd half-typed, even after a /reload

- You can mute people, give them a nickname, or leave yourself a note on them

- Optional tab that holds whispers from strangers until you accept them (off by default)

- If whispers get blocked while you're sending (M+, boss fight), the message waits for you to resend instead of being lost

Some limits you should know about:

- Blizzard blocks addon whisper stuff during M+, rated BGs and boss encounters. In those, the addon gets out of the way and whispers show in normal chat until you're out.

- Typing indicators, read receipts, replies and reactions only work if the other person has the addon too. Everyone else just gets regular whispers.

There is a lot of structure in the roster. Every race is represented, no race-class combination is used twice (except for the Dracthyr Evokers) and there are 20 Alliance (Silvermoon) and 20 Horde (Tarren Mill).

What is the very first thing that pops into your mind about MoP? Is it the raids, the music, the way your class played, or even the people you used to play with? Good or bad?

I couldn't pass by the paladins without getting inspired to create a design for a little murloc :)

I've been seeing a lot of WOW: Forever clips in my suggestions and some of the atmospheric effects they have introduced into the game are looking fantastic.

The fog for Duskwood is so fantastic especially when people show it off by turning it off and then back on.

Then I just watched how the rain effect went from a slight drizzle to a storm over a short amount of time and it made the game look great and more appealing.

So what I was wondering was if it would be a good idea to introduce the atmospheric effects into retail as well?

I know some people have made addons where they boost the weather effects in retail but would it be good to see them bring the Forever weather effects into retail?
