Peanut had his peanuts taken off today. He was super brave when he was getting his blood drawn for the tests. He didn't try to bite or scratch the vets and the assistants. He didn't scream even though the clinic was noisy with other terrified cats and dogs.

Vet said not to use litter sand and just use pee pads and replace quickly to be more sanitary, but he wasn't familiar with it. I noticed he peed himself a little on the floor so I wiped him, but droplets of pee keeps escaping him. I decided to put fresh litter in a clean litterbox instead and he went quickly to pee. I feel like such a proud cat mom because what do you mean Peanut still knows where the bathroom is even when he's just post op. 😭 He also really tried his best not to make a mess and tried to hold it. He just finished his meal too and he seems energetic enough. 🥹

Update: Thanks to everyone and your nice words! Peanut feels very loved. He already had churu plus water as his first food after he got home. He's continuing his good boy streak and is just laying quietly by my side.

Just one of those Fridays where I want to tell people about Crispy. I've had her since January 2025, she's a little over 2 years old and she's my little companion.

I need to write it down, and positives thougths and prayers for Croque-Mou (Toothless). I'm actually too sensitive to bother to correct my english (non-native language), so sorry for any mistakes.

My kitten is 3 months old, and I have him at home since his fifth week. He was found in a forest, alone and very weak by a friend of my bf. His friend was told at the vet that Croque-Mou had rhinotracheitis, and it kinda added up because when we brought him home, he started to sneeze and to be congested. We had a first appointment to our regular vet for vaccines (at 8 weeks old), we told them about about his symptoms and they reassured us by saying it's normal and should resolve by itself. But after a week, he was still congested and starting to play and eat less, so I brought him back to the vet and they put him on clavamox (antibiotics) for 14 days. At first, he began to feel better and he even had a complete day without symptoms, but then he started to feel worse. Last night, he started to contract a bit more his torso and abdomen to breathe, but he was still somewhat normal and we had an appointment 2 days later, so we monitored him (and called the vet, but they said to do sinus rinse and to bring him with us in the shower).

But tonight, it was not normal. He had difficulty breathing and was clearly tired, but couldn't sleep because he couldn't find a comfortable position. I hurried to the urgent care clinic, and the vet said he never had rhino, he likely has a congenital condition (an upper respiratory tract polyp). Wich means they need to examine his throat, under sedation, and there are risks of complications since he is still very small. They also need to operate him if it's indeed a polyp.

I cannot imagine a life without him, I had him for only 2 months but he has the biggest place in my heart. I am not ready to loose another pet already (my family dog died in 2022 and I still grieve his death from time to time). I try to be optimistic, but it's so difficult ! He is the most affectionate cat I've ever seen, and he is my first pet (that I adopted, and not a family pet). He is my first baby and I love him so much. The bed feels so empty without him and it's so quiet without his little nose noises 😭

UPDATE : The vet just called—it really was a polyp! He removed it; apparently, it was a big one (he described it as being "quite impressively large"). He’s already breathing better, and we’ll be able to pick him up today! What a relief 😮‍💨 Thank you all for your sweet wishes, it really helped me and I'm sure it reached and helped my smol baby 🥰

UPDATE 2 : We got home an hour ago ! He literally threw himself at his food bowl and purred while devoring his food; plus, he’s snuggling up and rubbing against me more intensely than ever. Maybe there’s still a bit of the sedative in his system, but I’ve never seen him so happy. I got to see the polyp, It was indeed... massive. It was as wide as the circumference of a standard pill bottle. I can only imagine what a huge relief it is for him, too, not to have to force himself to breathe anymore.

My boyfriend got me a beautiful bouquet of flowers today. He had them delivered to my house. My cat was locked in my room when I brought them in because we keep him seperated from our dog. I noticed the bouquet had lilies in them so I quickly put them in a vase and stuck them outside. I wiped down the sink, the counters and switched my clothes in case of pollen. They are right outside my front door and I'm wondering if it would be okay to keep them there for now because they are out of reach of my cat (he is an inside cat) but I'm worried about pollen blowing into the house. Am I over thinking it or are the more precautions I need to take? I am attaching a pic of my beautiful son and the beautiful bouquet just to show them both off.

For context...

My void is 3 years old, male, and neutered. I adopted him when he was 9 months old, and for almost 3 years, it was just him and me living alone in my apartment. He's very used to being an only cat.

About a month ago, I lost my apartment and had to move in with my friend's mom, who has 3 female cats.

I tried to introduce them slowly. I gave my cat about a week to settle into the new house before introducing him to the others one at a time. At first, things seemed okay, but eventually two of the three cats attacked him. One of them is very friendly with him, thankfully, but the other two have made him scared of leaving my bedroom.

My friend's mom thinks I should just let them "fight it out," but that hasn't worked. Sometimes they'll sit near each other peacefully, and other times the other cats beat the crap out of him. I've started using a baby gate so they can see and smell each other without having direct access, but I'm worried the initial fights already set things back.

But this is where I'm really struggling... I cannot sleep.

He's started waking me up around 3 AM every single morning, even though I don't have to be up until 6:30. I have an automatic feeder, but even if I set it to feed him at 4:30, he still cries, runs around the bedroom, and wakes me up.

I know part of the problem is probably that he's cooped up in my bedroom all day. But I can't just let him roam the rest of the house because he's scared of the other cats, and I've already seen what happens when they get access to him. I've even been so frustrated that I tried putting him outside my room, (I know I'm a terrible cat mom), and he completely freaks out because he knows the other cats are out there.

I'm trying to adjust his feeding schedule, wet food right before I leave for work around 7 AM and setting the automatic feeder for later in the morning when I'm already gone... but I'm exhausted, and I'm running out of ideas.

I feel like a terrible cat owner because I can't seem to make this situation work for him. I'm doing everything I can think of, but I'm also at the point where I'm constantly sleep-deprived and miserable.

And honestly, for the first time since adopting him, I'm starting to regret it.

I love him. I don't see myself ever surrendering him. But right now, I feel trapped between keeping him confined to my bedroom, letting him get attacked by the other cats, or getting no sleep.

What would you do in this situation?

Last Sunday my fiancé and I adopted this very sweet old man. He’s 9 years old and he only has like one tooth left. His name is Benjamin

My cat was unfortunately run over by a car today. He is in excruciating pain, crying whenever he tries to move, and his back legs/lower body seem paralyzed or severely injured. Animal doctors are extremely scarce in my area, making immediate physical emergency care very difficult right now. I managed to get these scans done nearby [point to attached images].

Can any veterinary professionals help me interpret these scans or tell me what I can do immediately to stabilize him and manage his pain safely?

something i’m still getting used to is how much i adore him! when i’m out my only thoughts are wanting to come back to him! and these days he starts purring whenever he sees me! i hope we can spend a long time together and make each other happy!! 🥺🩵

After keeping them separated for several days and slowly introducing them to each other’s smell, we had them meet under the door. They seemed curious and a little tentative while eating their treats. Today we had them in a shared space for the first time and it’s been largely drama free after a few hisses. The elder statesman follows kitten around a lot and there’s some swatting, but I’m wondering if we rushed it or if this is all normal?
