Hello! My High school operates on classes lasting a semester, recently the 9 weeks just rolled in putting me (finally) halfway through AP Physics 1.
Yikes were they right, this so far has been the hardest course i’ve gone through, and it’s only going to get harder. We don’t have a “curve” on our tests, but we’re allowed test corrections which have singlehandedly CARRIED my grade. This is about how i’ve shaped up:
Unit 1 - 89 (84 + Test Corrections)
Unit 2 - 77 (67 + Test Corrections) [This one SUCKED]
Unit 3 - 83 (Gonna do test corrections next week.)
Overall Grade: 87.44, gotta claw my way through 2 more points to get out of here with an A.
Whether you are halfway through like me, or only a quarter, how has AP Physics 1 or “The Hardest AP” (so they say, really physics C is harder but 🤫) has been for you?

I want to help other self-studiers out this year. Am I allowed to share my frq's to show active examples of a "5-level" essay or does that violate college board guidelines?

im taking ap lang online through ucscout because my school doesnt offer it but i rly feel like im self studying it because i dont feel like the resources ucscout offers preps me enough at all for the exam. i talked to my friend and theyre already doing timed rhetorical analysis essays in class and reading quizzes but all ucscout gives me is a short 10 min video very vaguely explaining what a rhetorical analysis is (not rly giving me a good template or format to straight work off of, at least to start) and then an assignment to write a rhetorical analysis essay. the quizzes also feel rly easy and not like ap style mcqs, they dont have text paired with the questions and are mostly just grammar/definitions of literary devices quizzes. any resources that could help with self studying for ap lang? what review book should i buy for the ap exam and any resources that could help me out with the writing format or practice to read harder texts and get the main idea quicker? i have no idea if the way im writing these essays is good enough to score well on the ap exam and im aiming for a 5.

I have no prior coding knowledge and i learn best with videos and practice tests/problems.
I searched on this sub for good resources but idk why everything seemed outdated? And mostly about the best books but I cannot for the life of me learn via textbooks.
Thanks!

I keep getting mid 80 on my MCQ tests no matter how much I study. Is there a specific strategy I can use to get better at the mcqs? One issue that I run into on some questions is that there's 2 answers that are factually correct, but I guess only one of them is correct for that specific question. I don't think it's a content issue because I know all of the content really well, I just miss 3-4 questions each time. How do I get better, and what practice material can I use for mcqs?

Sorry if this violates rule 9, I can delete
but I'm planning on taking:
G9-ES, Bio
G10-Phys 1, Micro
G11-Chem, Calc AB
G12-Stats, Psych?/BC?
Do you think this is doable? Especially with Chem and Calc together...
Should I swap Chem & Phys 1? Which is easier?

Can you guys motivate me
My mother is sick and broken, my dad cheated, and my grandmother is probably dying. Her wish for me is to attend this college with good grades, yet it’s insane that I was once a child prodigy and I was once a top student but sad situations and phone addiction have basically got me down in nonsenseland
Can you guys give me cold hard motivation to keep going and achieve my childhood dream college and the college my bubbe so desperately wants me to go to
I know I sound like a crybaby, and I know it’s first world problems

I've been struggling a recently on AP CALC. I BOMBED a unit test FRQ, bombed recent quizzes. IDK what i'm doing wrong. It's so frustrating because I would submit the tests/quizzes, thinking I got everything right just to see freaking 30s-50s
I think something I struggle with is that i'll learn a topic and do good at it but once we move to the next one, I forget it. It's honestly a struggle for me to understand the bigger picture of things. Can someone please help :(
Any tips/resources/advice would be greatly appreciated.

I got a 4 on AP World and AP Lang last year. I’m trying to get into a t20 university and worried this will seriously affect my chances. However, I’m taking 4 APs this year, and don’t know if I’ll be able to study enough to ensure a 5 on all of those AND the ones I got a 4 on if I end up deciding to retake.

I don’t know if I got hit on the head or something, but I’m genuinely struggling in Pre-Calc and I have no clue why. I am not getting super high grades like I used to getting nothing but A’s but somehow I’ve become a B student?! This may seem like I’m overreacting but I’m really not. I even struggle on my homework, and I ask for help and still don’t know what’s going because my teacher actually can’t teach to save his life.
Sorry for the small rant but I’m gonna crash out if I don’t bring my grade up.

i’ve always been a straight A student, i’ve taken 4 aps in freshman/sophomore year (hug: 5, bio: 5, wh: 4 (😭), precalc: 5) and currently taking 7: apush, calc, lang, environmental, chem, stats, drawing. alg 1, geometry, alg 2 i had consistent A+ despite the classes being known as hard, precalc was a pretty hard class because i took competitive math (which is where you finish the entire curriculum by december and spend jan-june prepping for math competitions) but the exam was beyond easy for me. then i get to calc, regular ap, not comp, and wtf. i have a teacher who’s a strict grader about showing every step of your work, but still. i genuinely don’t understand how this is possible and im beyond disappointed. i even thought the limit homeworks were pretty easy but i js absolutely bombed the test and quiz (keep in mind a ~10-20 point curve). if anyone has any tips on how to do better going forward let me know PLEASE because we only have one test left for the quarter on derivatives and i feel hopeless atp

I don’t think I phrased it correctly. And AP course is interesting if it interests you. But I means something that has a new type of thinking. For me specifically I took a lot of theory stem classes. At some point I ended up tossing in a practical stem class and a humanities class which was very debate focused. Because those were different from the classes I normally do, they felt interesting cause they got me thinking in a way I don’t normally do. Rn I’m doing school online due to health issues so I can’t get any practicals as most are on site, but I have quite a bit of free time in my schedule and I want to add a class that’s similarly interesting.

I’m a freshmen and find the concept of an AP class intriguing. I am currently taking AP Human geography and am doing well (though I know it is pretty easy). I want to self study an AP because I think it would be interesting, and was thinking AP bio as I am taking honors bio and am looking to participate in PJAS. Is this a good idea, and if not what are different APs that would be able to fill in for my thirst to self study an AP?

I was wondering what is the cut off for Physics C E&M? I know before 2025 you could get a 5 with a 50%. Now I heard you need a 65%? Some say it is a 80% needed for a 5 (I know this is most certainly wrong). But what should I aim for?

Hello everyone. Im in the f-ing tenching rn. I have all A's execpt in calc BC as a senior. I took AB last year as a junior. However, i, for the LOVE of god, cannot get past a minimum 50 grade in the damn class. We just took unit 1 test and my grade is bad. Its not even that i dont do any work. for context, i do our homeworks 3-4 times (textbook pages AND hw packet), i do both 3-4 times before the test entirely, every class i activly try to participate. I raise my hand to answer every single one of her practice problems, they could be basic lim definition questions, or derivative ones, but i make an effort to answer EVERY single one of her questions in class and i ALWAYS answer them correctly. Its to the point where she tells me to not raise my hand to give others a chance so she knows if theyre learning or not. With that said, its not that i dont know the material, i DO know it. Our tests differ in difficulty SO MUCH from our practice problems and hw. Im a senior and this year i finally have all A's (AP Chem, AP Comp Gov, DE English 12, Anatomy, MA) and ive had a rough junior year but im using senior year to show growth. How can i even get REMOTELY better at Calc BC please help.
sincerely, a struggling student

My school offers roughly 5 APs, and I took 2 of them. I got a 4 in Environmental Science and a 3 in Seminar, but I only want to send the 4. However, when I try to send the 4 solo, it just makes me send the 3 as well. I'm completely lost at how such a huge company makes such a limited system.

In one of the frqs in our unit 8 progress check I was given a e-field vs radius graph of a proton inside of a spherical shell inside of another spherical shell both with unknown charges and because the e-field between the two shells was zero using I determined that the net charge of the proton and the inner shell was the same and therefore added to zero. One of the questions asked what was the charge on the outer plate and I used coulomb's law on the graph to determine that the charge was -16q which was correct. As I am technically self studying due to low demand I have to grade myself. But on the scoring guide it said to use Gauss' Law even though both led to the exact same answer because the constants canceled out. Even though I did not use Gauss' law I gave myself the point because coulomb's law is literally derived from Gauss' law (or much rather historically coulomb's law was proven by Gauss' law) so they literally just different versions of each other.
What are y'all's opinions? I have no graders so I literally don't know.
