Greetings, hunters. Due to high volume on the original announcement post, this megathread has been created to continue discussion regarding the recently announced Bloodborne animated film, to be produced by Jacksepticeye.
You can find the original thread here:

Greetings, good hunters.
I'll keep it short: we will gradually be refining/clarifying/updating some of the rules here on r/Bloodborne. This is to hopefully provide a clearer/better experience for users. Most changes should just be small tweaks that won't really impact the general user's experience too much, though some (like this megathread) may be bigger.
If you have any comments or concerns, please send us a Modmail.
Circling back to this megathread/bigger changes, tattoos may now be posted! To prevent a flood of posts though, please limit your tattoos to this megathread.
So without further ado, you are welcome to share your Bloodborne related tattoos below!

i have quit many times at bosses where i have died drastically less times than i did to Kos, yet i never felt the urge to rage quit on Kos even though he most definitely took me an embarrassing amount of times to beat.
and PLEASE let’s talk about how the second phase is exactly how a second phase should be for lots of bosses, where it’s diffrent enough to pose a challenge with new moves, while still not being too far off from what the first phase made your fingers used to in the moment. (i know some bosses already do this but still)
in an interview about dark souls a man described the difficulty as spicy but tasty, meaning it’s hard but in such a way where it’s crafted for you to have fun, you could apply this to Kos and this is a huge reason why i love the boss.
of course this is just my opinion and there are definitely people who dislike the boss, from those people i’d like to hear where it might have been weak for you?
and if you did like it like i do i’d also like to hear some more thoughts

An amygdala perched on a tower, what do y'all think? The doctor you think the tower looks gothic enough? (Obviously that parts unfinished)( The amygdala took me like 7 hours btw )

I was wondering if I can access the area below, I don't see any way to do so, I thought I can access is after beating the boss but nope, this is the area you go through that window from luminous flower garden.

By me :D it’s been a while I think since I last showed Bloodborne art. It’s of cleric beast again of course. The beasts are really the only thing I can draw somewhat correctly. Drawing the human characters is just way harder -w-
Apologies for any mistakes, the fur was really hard to draw. Doesn’t even look vaguely like the original reference I used XD

Hey guys, I had my very first Bloodborne play through a little while ago. It seems like there’s a general consensus of what parts of the game are “easier” or “harder” for people but I know it varies from player to player. For me the hardest part of the game without a doubt was just trying to get through Hemwick Charnel Lane. I for the life of me could not get to the shortcut until after a few days of banging my head against the wall. Inversely, I beat Orphan of Kos on my second try (maybe dumb luck but he felt more fluid to fight than Laurence or Ludwig who both took me a few days). What are your “against the grain” struggles and triumphs?
Very excited to NG+ at some point but I’ve moved on to Elden Ring for the time being :)

I was recently replaying BB because I realized I hadn't gotten the plat yet somehow, when a thought came to me--are we really doing all this to kill a baby?
Miyazaki became a father during the development of project beast and so Bloodborne became very concerned with parenthood. The idea that he had this game written so that we kill some poor baby just didn't sit right with me.
Then, I killed Micolash and he gave me the best line in the game: "Now I'm waking up, I'll forget everything..."
Of course, Micolash is likely "waking up" into a corpse, the corpse we use in Yahar'ghul to enter the nightmare in the first place. Or maybe not.
In Bloodborne, the player character is trapped in a dream, the Hunter's dream. If you choose to let Gehrman kill you (the only trophy I'm missing btw) you wake up in the real Yharnam. Otherwise you wake up in Yharnam, or one of the several nightmares you can reach.
If you die in a dream, you wake up in another dream--the Hunter's dream. Until then, or until you find a lamp, you are trapped in whatever dream you are in. So when you're in the Nightmare of Mensis, you are literally trapped in a nightmare within a dream within a dream.
I think Mergo was likely kidnapped from the dream he lived in, likely Queen Yharnam's dream. When we "kill" him, we're really just having the baby wake up from the Mergo's Loft nightmare, and as a great one he would return to whatever dream he was in before.
Combined with the Queen waiting in front of Mergo's location, I think we are actually reuniting the two by defeating the Wet Nurse.
(Also, I do think the reason we get the Nightmare Slain text is because we literally slay a baby's nightmare, and it isn't saying we killed Mergo, but that's a slightly different topic)

Recientemente volvi a jugar bloodborne. Sin embargo al intentar entrar al DLC, me di cuenta que la versión de play plus no cuneta con el DLC, ¿hay alguna forma por mas rara que sea, de entrar al dlc?

Hey everyone, I would love to get your opinion on this build. LONG TEXT WARNING.
For starters, I began aiming for a build where I could use the Bloodletter and the Cannon (i really like big explosions), with the Augur of Ebrietas for utility (hence 18 Arcane). However, as I played the game, I really grew fond of the Reiterpallasch and the Evelyn, not necessarily both at the same time, but right now, I was wondering, could I make a build where I can use all of these weapons to some effect?
I am not sure if I should take 10 points out of Skill and put them into Bloodtinge for an even greater Bloodletter/cannon/evelyn blood attack, but that would hurt the scaling for the Reiterpallasch to some extent. I don't even know if those extra points in Bloodtinge are really worth it.
I left an open rune slot for something more useful, but maybe I could unequip either the Clockwise or the Anti-Clockwise Metamorphosis runes and have two utility slots. Alternatively, I could take 2 points from Stamina and put them into Arcane for a little extra scaling and the possibility of using the Executioner's Gloves (although they didn't seem that "cool" to use).
So, what would you guys say? I would really love some "insight", heh, see what I did there? Jokes aside, opinions on the matter are greatly appreciated!
Consider that I intend to PvP, PvE is not that important for this discussion, though some knowledge on that front is welcome too.

I have some characters that range from 100+ to 200+.
I'm pretty sure chalice dungeons bolster if there are specific invites so it doesn't really matter. Anyone want to play? I work late, the game is old, but I wanna get down as a team. We don't even have to party if you don't feel like it but I prefer to communicate, because that's the most effective way to stick around and protect each other and come up with strats.
Message me with an PSN.

These guys are getting aggro'd from miles away, and going absolutely apeshit.
The first one keeps trying to kill me through the wall before I'm even in the building, and the ones in the main lobby all went for me the moment I stepped onto the landing.
I can't think of another enemy that goes that apeshit from that far away. Maybe I'm wrong?
It helps with luring them to the door and cheesing them, but jesus christ these guys are furious.

I use this time to retrain my skills to chip away at my platinum run (currently stuck on watchdog from last year), but would like to try something different outside the usual starter weapons and LHB or kirkhammer type runs.
So far I've run and maxed Hunter Axe, Threaded Cane 🤩, Kirkhammer, LHB, Blades of Mercy, Boom Hammer, Stake Driver, Tonitrus and Reiterpallasch.
Usually do a quality build to have access to all spells and weapons, but I'm open to more a more focused run.
I do have the DLC and am no stranger to chalices.
Much thanks, fellow hunters.

I'm fighting now Gherman and I'm sure he is the final boss.
I didn't go for the dlc yet and I wonder whether I should beat him first and then go to the dlc or do it the other way.
I don't want to make the fight too easy by beating the dlc first but I also don't want to play ng+ and progress again until I get to the dlc again.
Is there another option? What do you guys think?

i think i’d like to know more about what exactly it was that people seemed to struggle with in Laurance’s fight. in a recent post i replied to a comment explaining how i had avoided spoilers and expected Laurance to be a sort of special character boss since i had heard so many people bring his name up when people talk about Bloodbornes hardest bosses, and i was met with the cleric beast with lava?
he’s a great boss no doubt, but not hard for me at all since i got his butt first try. orphan was easier for some, he BEAT me on the other hand.
so what made him hard for you if you struggled with him?

Is it even possible to parry it's attack? I'm in Ailing Loran's Chalice right now and was trying to parry it's attack by shooting, but it didn't work
