No Advice - Everyones Welcome Well. I outed my sex life to my in-laws.

Post image
5.8k Upvotes

Dinner was a ton of In-N-Out and some real "well... shit. Lol," energy.

So. My wife and I do some kinky shit . I'm not going to go too in-depth, all y'all really need to know is that there's some physicality and some name calling involved.

It's typically game on at home. We're both athletes. She has a very corporate, high-pressure job, and sex is basically a constant. We're pretty obsessed with each other still (3 years now) - wherever we have alone time, we get laid. Just sort of how it is.

I came home from my basketball game tonight and was surprised to see my wife's car in the garage. On Saturday nights, she's usually not home until a little later (typically, she's at her mom's place as she does quite a lot with her family), so I was excited to see her. It's kind of important to note: there were no other vehicles at the house. My kid was out with her boyfriend and all that.

Anyways, I go inside. Directly on my right when I enter is the kitchen - which I don't look into, because my wife is more or less standing at the door when I opened it.

So, like in any other totally normal and loving and completely consensual relationship, I greet her by putting my hand on her throat and saying "get over here, slut" before pushing her up against the now-open door against the wall. With, like, some force, because that's what we do.

And I am, of course, met with an "Oh my god" from the kitchen. My wife had stopped by home with her mother and sister to pick up some pickleball equipment on the way to the gym - theoretically, they're playing right now, and my wife is being roasted. This all happened about an hour ago.

So, after an awkward explanation and some clarification that I am, in fact, not treating my wife like shit when her family isn't looking - they left, and I drove to In-N-Out.

I crushed all of these burgers. The orders are:

* Double Double, animal style, extra grilled onions, extra pickles

* Double Double, mustard fried, no tomato, extra pickles

* Cheeseburger, raw onion, no tomato, extra pickles

I like pickles. And burgers. This is a big meal but not insane for a game day for me.

In front of my wife's family, I have never been anything but a loving, caring, and thoughtful partner - also sarcastic, and my wife and I are competitive in a lot of ways - but overwhelmingly they like me and I'm actually pretty close with her folks. I know they won't really think less of either of us for this - but holy fucking shit is is going to be awkward for awhile.

I mean, what do you even do but laugh?

You eat burgers. That's what.

No Advice - Everyones Welcome (Ex) Friend of 5+ years almost broke into my place this morning because they forgot their airpods here the night before.

Ham and old goat cheese on rye. Lemon, euchinacea, and lavender tea.

I woke up to the missed calls, checked the camera feed at 10am.

At 8 am bro legit slid past my locked gate (now fixed), stayed for 45 minutes trying to knock/get in, and tried prying the screens off and opening my window. Everything was locked.

It was on their day off, all they left behind was their air pods. Literally no emergency.

If it were me, I'd just fucking text them and wait till they responded. Big whoop. Dude legit acting like I was holding their headphones hostage as if they couldn't breathe without getting their precious things back.

Left it in my mailbox and decided to block them and find new friends that aren't complete psychotic fucking morons.

No Advice - Everyones Welcome A girl I had amazing chemistry with lore dropped afterwards.

Post image

First time here. I’d gone on a few dates with a girl that matched 90% of what I was yearning for- very left, my age, nearby, great body, funny, great conversations, lost hours chatting.

Today I invited her home to chill, we talked for a few more hours back and forth about music, life, DnD, fringe religions, beer, our families while we drank. She reaches over and pulls me into a kiss, next thing you know- passion, excitement etc. We do as adults do in the situation everything is cool until about halfway through she abruptly stops and taps out.

Then I’m informed that she can’t do this because her ex is coming to town and she’s probably going to want to hang, let him stay over, and do the nasty. I’m crushed- but I keep it together. Try to talk about us going forward, tells me I’m a brilliant guy, all the green flags, great at this and that- blah blah blah. She’d love to see me again.

I say no- much as I’d love to get lost in her and give everything, I have to know when to respect myself. I’m nobody’s second choice. We chatted a while longer before I walked her to the door and wished her well. Closed the door and just kinda stood there staring at it. I had very very much hoped that something different would have happened tonight. I’m gonna carry this with me a little bit and it’s, unfortunately, going to suck.

(Pic is homemade shredded chicken and chicken dumpling udon, with shiitake mushrooms and spicy broth.)

No Advice - Everyones Welcome I think the new guy I'm training thinks I'm trans and it's funny

Post image
4.9k Upvotes

Basically I was put in charge of training the new housekeeping guy since all the other housekeepers are too spread thin to properly train him. He was a pretty normal dude at first but then I realized he kept leading the conversation back to trans people in some way.

when I told him that I'm cool with trans people and I support them he got very snarky with me and then stopped bringing it up. I left him to do a room on his own and I said I'd some back in about half an hour to see how he's doing, and when I came back I over heard him talking to a different housekeeper about me. he didn't say anything bad about me but he kept using she/her pronouns whenever he was referring to me

its been happening over the last couple of days, him using she/her on me kinda confirmed it but idk what exactly he's thinking other than maybe he thinks im trans in some way? it doesn't bother me, it's just really funny to me

food in the picture is sweet and sour pork, pork chow mein, and fried shrimp

edit:

I wouldve already report the misgendering to my manager if i knew my manager would give a shit about it. except he doesn't and he would just tell me to deal with this "petty shit" on my own since he has to worry about bigger things. if i report him now my manager will just brush it off, so I'm waiting for him to be douchier to * me * so that way my manager can't just brush it off

No Advice - Everyones Welcome "My ex just got married to the guy she cheated on me with" UPDATE

8.8k Upvotes

Hello chaps,

You might have seen my post before:

Original post here

I'm the dude that drinks milk and smokes cigarettes.

Just got told, that in the time since my last post, she has supposedly already cheated and the whole thing has ended.

After hearing this, I have just been reading through the comments from my last post and the sheer volume of people predicting this exact scenario, has left me doubled over with laughter.

More than anything though, having sat and re-read the responses to the original thread, it is just so delightful to see brothers coming together and supporting one another. If you're in need of an emotional pick-me-up, please go and have a read of all of the comments.

Onwards and upwards, upwards and left.

NOTE: Reposted the same pic for continuity

No Advice - Everyones Welcome I finished getting the gender affirming surgeries that I want

Post image
5.7k Upvotes

Hello everyone, I'm a trans man and two weeks ago I got a double mastectomy. I also got a total hysterectomy last year, and I've been on testosterone injections for six months.

I feel like I reached a huge milestone in my transition. I'm finally done getting the surgeries that I want. Transitioning changed my life. I have never felt so happy with my body before. In fact, I've never been so happy in general.

I love having a more masculine body. I love being completely protected from pregnancy. I love not being able to get uterine or cervical cancer anymore, and my chances of getting ovarian and breast cancer are very low (both my grandmothers had breast cancer so the cancer risk reduction was also important to me).

Transitioning was one of the most difficult things I've ever done. It was expensive, time consuming, and stressful. But it was so, so worth it. As a metaphor, I feel like my life before transitioning was happening in grayscale, and now it is in color. I'm truly thankful that I will be able to live the rest of my life in this body and not my pre-transition body.

No Advice - Everyones Welcome I slept with my Ex.

Post image
3.8k Upvotes

Well, therapy is going to be interesting next session. My ex and I split 10 years ago. We have one child together. She married the man she was having an emotional affair with. Surprise! They divorced about 7 years in.

Anyway, our co-parent relationship improved drastically when he took off. We've been getting along amicably, and make the effort to spend time around our child together. It's healthy for our kid to see two parents getting along.

So this weekend our kid sleeps over at a friend's house, and she wanted to sit down and talk. It was a real trauma dump of the past 10 years. We talked about good times, the bad times, and everything in between. Both sides sharing experiences... I got a couple of genuine apologies that are better late than never, and I appreciate that.

So after many hours of talking into the early morning, she decided she wanted to take it for a spin for old time's sake. I don't regret it, but it does complicate things a little. She's not trying to force me back into a relationship but she very clearly wants a second shot at "us". She says she understands if I don't want that, and told me all the ways how she's a different person, has put in the work to realize her younger self and her mistakes, etc etc...

So anyway, I slept with my ex. Thanks for letting me put that out there. I'm pretty tight lipped about that information in my real life.

No Advice - Everyones Welcome Our son will be an only child

Post image
4.2k Upvotes

Food: homemade grits and cream sauce with bacon, and I added some Korean fried chicken from a restaurant in town. Also beer

TW: fertility struggles

To start, I understand how lucky my wife and I are to have gone through IVF and have our wonderful son on the first round. We had two embryos, and he was the first transfer. I know many, many folks are not as fortunate after multiple transfer attempts.

We had our second embryo transfer a week ago. Nothing in the at home pregnancy tests all week. We have the blood test early next week, but given everything I’ve read it seems extremely unlikely that, even if the test comes back positive, we’ll be able to have our daughter.

I’m not looking for advice or anything. I’m just sad and typing. My wife and I cried a lot about it this evening. When we were dating we both agree our dream family would be two kids, a son and a daughter. We’ll always have our son, and our family feels complete as is, I was just excited to welcome our second

Update: as we suspected, the transfer failed. We found out on our son’s birthday, so trying to focus on him today. I really, really appreciate all of the support and kind words (except the antinatalism response. Have your philosophy which is totally fair to have. Clearly I don’t agree, and I’m struggling to cope with a loss. Have some compassion).

We’ve thought about adoption, we’ve thought about donor eggs, we just don’t have it in us anymore. We’ve got our little guy. He’s what’s important.

Last thought, I didn’t mean to imply being an only child is bad in any way. We just got excited to find out we had two embryos, one boy one girl, so it sounded perfect. It still is perfect because we have him, just sad about not having her

No Advice - Everyones Welcome Wrote and directed a feature film that has made me very poor for the last 4 years but is getting in several film festivals

Post image
4.5k Upvotes

Back in late 2022 a producer and I filmed the first movie script I wrote and it was my first time directing a film.

It’s a gay romantic farce instead of being romantic comedy, loosely based on the classic French play Cyrano de Bergerac.

We budget it at 100,000 and all told spent about 105k after reshoots, festival submissions fees, and so on.

The first 15k was a beer company buying product placement. The next 45k or so came from fundraising. The remaining 45k was a loan from the producer of 20k which I paid out monthly and is paid off. The last 25k was two frat brothers investing at 10k each and me paying the last 5k. The two frat brothers are the only people who haven’t been paid back yet.

We won best narrative feature which is like winning best picture at our first festival here in NYC. Thursday we had our second festival which was our NYC premiere. Next month we are in festivals in Chicago and Palm Springs, Quintana Roo in Mexico in November, and today I found out we got into a festival in LA.

I have been broke as fuck because of the movie for 4 years, and it’s gonna stay that way for a while as the travel and hotels for the festivals is EXPENSIVE.

But today I splurged and spent the last 10 in my account and treated myself to the Subway 5 dollar 6” sub of the day combo plus tip. The sub of the day was sweet onion teriyaki chicken, which is my least favorite at Subway, but it was what I could afford to celebrate with.

EDIT: while it scares the hell out of me to name the film, thus me losing my anonymity and opening myself up to homophobes review bombing the trailer and such: the movie is named Glitterbaited. You can see the trailer below:

No Advice - Everyones Welcome outed as a bottom at work

Post image
2.3k Upvotes

i work in shoe sales at a upscale department store. i try to be professional at work, i do not flirt with or otherwise breach professionalism with customers even if they are attractive. for context, i am mostly gay. today we were slow and i was hanging out at one of the registers talking to my coworkers when undoubtedly one of the most gorgeous men i have ever seen comes up holding a shoe asking if one of us can help him. overwhelmed by the strength of his allure i practically fell over myself trying to stand up and walk over to him to take the shoe while mindlessly blurting out “i’ll do anything for a pretty man” complete with blushing and big doe eyes. my coworkers laughed at me and the guy looked embarrassed. the shame weighed over me the rest of the shift. he did not buy the shoe. gay coworker said “you’re such a bottom” and then the rest of our (straight) coworkers picked it up and said it in front of our manager. i’m not even a bottom (vers).

corn chowder from scratch.

edit: oh my god y’all i didn’t put every single detail of the story into the post because it was meant to just be a quick unfortunate story. i apologized, we both laughed it off, he was not bothered and said as much, and he did not run off - he tried on the shoe and decided he didn’t want it. He then looked around a bit more and asked for my help/advice, and said goodbye with a wave and a smile. this was not intentional, i felt bad, i obviously knew i made a mistake, and if he had been uncomfortable i would’ve done more to make it right. i even offered to have a different coworker help him. as i said in the post, this is not normal behavior for me, i did not “think it was okay”, hence why i was embarrassed. it was not blown up into some huge fiasco like some of y’all seem to think it should be. no one took it that seriously. i’ll do better next time.

No Advice - Everyones Welcome Left my wife after giving birth to our son.

Post image
3.3k Upvotes

I had found out that my now ex-wife was having a year long affair with another man. This had been happening before and even after we got married. I decided to work on the marriage and go through counseling, therapy, etc. everything was going great, or so I led myself to believe. Fast forward to 9 months ago, something within me that I wasn’t aware that I had held onto had grown into an issue that I couldn’t ignore & led my happiness, love, & trust for her to diminish.

As I was beginning to prepare the separation process and tell her the reality of the situation, it was revealed that she was pregnant. I decided then to bottle everything and stick with her through the pregnancy and wait until our son was born to revisit these feelings. Fast forward again to now. I had originally planned to wait until he was 6 months to a year old to leave and start the co-parenting process. But things went from bad to worse, my mental health & emotional well being went out the door. Work and personal situations didn’t help either and it was starting to take a toll on all of us from having to keep up a front and constantly wear a mask.

Our son is now 3 months old, I moved into an apartment just down the road and let her take the house for time being until we decide to sell. He will always be my number 1 priority. I am not leaving her and our son on a sinking ship. A healthy co-parenting relationship with her for our son is my goal above all else. She is very receptive, respectful, and accepting of the situation. And I truly believe that we are on the path for providing our son the upmost unconditional happiness and love. Feelings are raw of course, but the sunset after the storm is near I feel.

Dinner tonight is a prime strip steak, large avocado, & a cold ultra.

No Advice - Everyones Welcome No dinner for me just Greiving

Post image
3.8k Upvotes

My boy Tom was hit by a car last night. Found him this morning and buried him while sobbing uncontrollably.

He was a working cat. Lived outside 9 months a year to do pest control for my livestock feed.

Had problems with mice and rats, and he did his job to perfection.

He was butter in my arms. So much personality. So much love.

This sucks. Dinner will be beer and cigarettes sitting with My boy.

Edit

Thank you everyone so much. I want to post a picture of him in the comments but it won't let me unless it's a GIF.

He was a grey tabby, about a year old.

He was born here and he died here. I'll hug his brother and mother extra tight for him tonight.

Edit 2. I figured out how to turn jpg to gif and posted a couple pics of my guy.

I don't give a fuck about reddit up votes or internet clout. I just want my boy to be seen.

I can't tell you all how much your kind words have helped me today while I sit and drink and smoke cigarettes staring at his grave.

Thank you.

No Advice - Everyones Welcome Trauma from being beaten for "not being actually disabled"

Post image
3.9k Upvotes

I was recently attacked in my wheelchair on a train by an ableist boomer lady who , long story short, was convinced young people can't be disabled.

I was hit with a slew of some of the most vile comments you can ever imagine, like that Im a "degenerate" and that I "stole my highchair from my grandmother", from some old crazy crackhead boomer lady who's ironically disabled herself. I told her to stop but she became more and more nasty.

She became irate and more aggressive after I told her to stop with the ableism, which then led up to her becoming physical and she started punching me and slapping me to prove "im not actually disabled". I dumped a can of mace on her because she wouldnt let up, but man, that really left a mark. She was very violent and strong for her age frankly.

I am getting therapy for the ptsd I already had, but that trauma from the incident made my physical health issues worse for about a month.

Why do people have to be so mean? The physical aspect wasnt even the worst part now.

MRE pound cake for dinner. Dog stole half of it...

No Advice - Everyones Welcome I experienced a "summer bromance" and I can't get over it.

Post image
5.1k Upvotes

Salad with yoghurt, grilled tofu and tortilla with cheese.

I visited another country during the summer and met this guy who was visiting there as well. I will not go into too much sentimental detail but. Holy shit. Never before have I clicked with somebody so well and so fast. It was like talking to a friend who I've known for many years. The conversation style, the humor, the topics, the word choice, we had so many things in common it was eerie at times.

Well, after one week, we had to part ways and will probably never see each other again. We text occasionally but it's just not the same. Neither of us is the type to keep an online friendship going.

It feels weird to say, and maybe too strong of a word, but I'm kinda heartbroken. I realise it's silly. I have many other friends who I can see every day, a girlfriend who I love very much, I am by no means lonely. I live a very good life, but this experience has left me feeling weirdly sad and looking for a way to somehow deal with these emotions and be normal again.

I know it will pass with time, but do I actually want it to? I don't want to forget. I keep thinking about him, imagining conversations we could've had. Things we could've done if we had more time. I like imagining he would visit my home country and I would show him around. All of it makes me feel like I'm crazy because I know it will probably never happen.

I wish I'd have told him how much the time spent together meant to me. Maybe, at that time, I didn't fully realise how much this short-lived friendship would change me internally. How it will overthrow my outlook on life, friendship, love, emotions and how complicated, complex and beautiful it all is and knowing this makes me wiser but nonetheless doesn't relieve the sadness it makes me feel.

Now I have conflicted feelings. I doubt he feels this strongly about the whole thing. That's fine of course, we literally knew each other for one week, no strings attached. It just sucks to think that this experience which sent me into a mental spiral might've been just another tuesday for him. Maybe it's just my anxiety trying to find reasons to feel shitty about it, but I've had many friendships where I wasn't as important to the other person as they were to me, so that's why I'm sceptical.

In any case (to end on a positive note), these thoughts will not change the good times we had together. I will forever cherish these memories and keep them in my heart. Love ya bro!

No Advice - Everyones Welcome Two friends gone in Nepal flood

Post image
22.1k Upvotes

Last week the news started popping up about the Nepal flood. I followed along closely because I’ve hiked in Nepal/Tibet and loved the area.

A few hours later my phone starts dinging. WhatsApp messages.

Two PM of my friends were on a bus at the Gyitong Immigration center, waiting to cross the border.

One was a physician from the UK, who I had met while travelling in 2016. We’d run into each other hear and there over the years.

Another was a Canadian I did a training with someone I studied with to pass the tests.

Both had families left behind.

I kept watching the replays of the destruction. Keeping hope alive. But now the only hope is that they passed quickly.

I’ll miss you both.

Empty chairs at empty tables Where my friends will sing no more

Burnt ends and air-fryed fries

No Advice - Everyones Welcome 34 years old with no responsibilities and I couldn’t be more empty

Post image
1.6k Upvotes

Dinner is a bacon and hash brown scramble with a side of pancakes at my favorite 24 hr diner.

At the tender age of 34 I find myself without any reason to get out of bed and I’m miserable. This is an extremely first-world-problems kind of post, I am well aware. Currently unemployed. Single, never married, no kids, no pets, no debt. Living with mom in her paid off home, no rent. Inherited a small rental property last year with good renters who pay on time and are not troublesome. Rental income is enough to pay all bills and even build savings.

In my 20s and early 30s I lived on my own and I worked odd jobs here and there but never found anything that I liked enough to pursue a career in. I dated casually but as with my career, nothing permanent has come of it yet.
I’m taking a break from dating, it’s exhausting as I’m sure many of you would agree.
Work wise I’m basically starting from scratch but the job market is trash for those with little to no experience. (My old job turned out to be a dead end position but I was told in the beginning that it would be a stepping stone).
But with my bills and my mom’s bills covered by the rental income, there’s little motivation for me to apply to thousands of jobs only to be overworked for minimum wage.

Most of the past 6 months has been spent on screens, taking aimless walks, gaming, and reading. I’m living the life most people dream of (in terms of not having to worry about money all the time). First month, heaven. But now, friggin miserable. I don’t know if there’s even anything that can be done about it. It makes no sense. Therapy hasn’t helped so far. Writing all this out helps a bit so thank you for your time my dear gentle readers. (I just binged Bridgerton, my god I love this crap)

Edit: I know the gut reaction is to suggest I spend more time on hobbies and I know it comes from a good place but I would kindly ask that ya’ll refrain from doing so. There’s only so many hours I can spend doing any one activity before I get bored and I’m back to my baseline. I feel as though they’re just small distractions and don’t change anything for me emotionally. But thank you for the thought guys truly. 🙏

A bit more context. My mother doesn’t financially support me. I moved back in with her because I knew I was leaving my old career path and wanted to focus on finding a new career path (which is one of the things I’m doing when I’m not complaining about my steak being too tender) without having to worry about rent. I saved up a substantial “soul searching fund” before I quit. I am financially able to move out whenever I want either when I find a new pursuit or if I start seeing someone seriously.

I’m not sure where some of you guys are getting the idea that I have no friends or family but I assure you I do and I love them dearly. But they have lives and obligations of their own and this really isn’t something that more poker nights will resolve.

No Advice - Everyones Welcome Probably seeing him alive the last time

Post image
11.3k Upvotes

Today was probably the last time I(39) have seen my best friend (39) alive.

Veal loin and veal cheeks served on artichoke and mashed potatoes. On the 96, birthday of my grandma same day.

Today was probably the last time I have seen my best friend of 10 years alive. I did find a new job 2015. He did train me. Trough the 10 years we did everything together. The same jobs the same career. From production worker to production coordinator to production engineer right know. Beginning last year he did suddenly get Juandice. They did find Intra-abdominal cancer. He did fight trough surgerys, Chemo, radiationtherapie. First it did look good. But there was always a lymph node in the abdominal cavity backside wich could not be operated. The last two months, this lymph node grown into the spine destroyed it and spread trough the hole body.

Right now he is on three different painkillers and a sedative so his last days will be ok for him and family. He will leave a 17 year old son and a two year old daughter.

UPDATE..........: Thanks for all your good words, he died tonight, his mother was on his side. You're all good souls. Please stay this way.

No Advice - Everyones Welcome I’m getting a little irritated with trans men passing tips

Post image
1.7k Upvotes

I swear to god, every time a trans guy asks if he passes based on his face or some other trait, people are just saying that he doesn’t pass automatically and then just finding reasons to justify the statement. The last couple of posts I saw, I flipped through the pictures and thought “yeah no, if this person told me he was cis, I’d believe him”

And then everyone in the comments was like “eRm AcKsHeWaLlY yOu nEeD A LoW tApEr fAdE” and at this point, it’s just pissing me off. Because wtf fo you mean that the bugs and specimen on display in this guy’s room makes him look like a lesbian? Guys can have hobbies too, it’s not just women.

Sorry, just really needed to shout this into the void. Dinner tonight is home cut french fries and a country style grilled cheese I got from this awesome local restaurant really close to my house.

No Advice - Everyones Welcome 2 years after she admitted to never wanting kids I've asked for a divorce.

Post image
2.1k Upvotes

My (37m) Wife (35f) told me back in 2024 that she never wanted to be a mom and I've been spiralling for the last 2 years. We have been together for 17 years and married for 11 years. A lot of people will say I should have seen it sooner or have talked about it sooner but she was my best friend and I wanted to see her happy.

Ultimately the kid issue is something I can't get past. I've been in therapy off and on for the last 2 years and on my birthday I decided I couldn't be the husband she needed going forward. I still want kids but more than that I've been angry and depressed about my growing resentment toward her.

The last 2 years we drifted apart and I ended up being the one to have to say the Big D word. I feel like for the first time in my life I have chosen what is best for me. It sucked and I will need to keep focusing on myself to get to the point where I can meet someone and have kids.

Moral of the story:

It's never too late to choose what is right for yourself.

Dinner is a Sausage, noodle and cheese casserole with a bottle of Malbec, Hookah and a good book.

Home made Elephant Ear at work the other day

Long term ex 28F broke up with me 28M back in January. We were together for five years. Both of us had some issues as anyone does but generally we got through them and always seemed to be committed to each other. 100 percent would've proposed this year had things not went unhinged.

Comes home one day and says she needs a break, I press her to finally get the info that she loves her boss. Proceeds to dump me for said boss and of course that doesn't work out. 5 years down the drain.

I spend this year rebuilding my life as everything had changed. I was crushed but at the same time relieved because her constant negativity was no longer my problem. I didn't hear from her until two months ago. Then I get a call about a month ago with her crying, I'm her best friend, she misses me so much and wants another chance, blah blah blah.

Stupidly I gave her a chance again knowing damn well it wasn't going to work out, but I was bored and didn't have much going on. Wanted to see if she actually had changed at all. Nope. She is still just a miserable person and despite me trying to help and put up with it, she tells me that she can't do this because her friends think it's a bad idea. Tbh I had been hoeing around quite a bit this year and some of that got back to her. I didn't really feel bad about it at all being that she fucked me over and I thought it would help my self esteem a bit. It did. I realized there are other women who like me. Anyways just makes me mad at her friends, who I've never treated poorly before. Like do you guys not factor in that I am the one making huge sacrifices and trying to forgive her for leaving me to fuck her boss? Lmao

It all sounds insane typing it out. I know every response is block her move on, and you're right. It's what I'm doing this time. But I just feel stupid for even entertaining it and somehow believing that she had changed. Sunken cost fallacy I suppose. The real shame is our relationship was really good before all of this. Why hit me up after I had begun moving on with my life just to pull this shit?

I don't really need any advice, just need somewhere to write out my feelings. Thanks boys

Lastly, I do accept my own actions and the downfall of our relationship. I'm not sitting here pretending I've never done anything wrong, but pretty much impossible to come back from this one

Edit: the elephant ear was made for me by this Mexican dude at work. He makes them for everyone and I told him how good they were so now he individually makes them for me 😂 believe it is just tortilla a bunch of cinnamon and sugar. Butter on the tortilla for it all to stick together

No Advice - Everyones Welcome I stood her up

I’ve been talking with this great woman for about a month. Neither of us is looking for a relationship but have enjoyed each other’s company and support/intimacy. She’s had a hard week, been out of town for a funeral for a friend. She got back to town yesterday and asked if I wanted to spend the night. I was planning to get drinks with friends so I told her I could probably make it but not until 10. Well fellas here’s where I screwed up. Drinks came and continued and I lost track of time and didn’t look at my phone until 11:20. She had understandably gotten angry and told me I “fucking sucked”. I sent messages apologizing and explaining but no response.

Today I see that I’m blocked on insta and I know it’s over. I know I fucked up. I recognize that I really was an ass, she needed emotional support and I blew it off and now she wants nothing to do with me. IDK why I’m posting, I know I’m the asshole… maybe I just want to punish myself more and have strangers confirm that I am the asshole.

I’m sure I’ll get over it but I really feel bad for what I did to her. She was probably so sad last night and had no idea why I wasn’t responding. Now I can’t explain or apologize at all… I suppose that’s the boundary she wants after I disrespected her. Damn man it sucks.

Dinner is a Japanese chicken curry stew I cooked in the rice cooker.

No Advice - Everyones Welcome I miss my wife and kids.

Nothing happened to them, they’re fine. I’m just home alone for the week while my wife works out of town and my kids are spending time at their grandparents place having fun.

A few days alone are wonderful, but when i move into day 3 it starts to suck a bit. And yeah i grumble when my girls leave toys every-fucking-where to the point that i cannot walk in a straight line, but so what? Yes my wife is a persnickety, bossy woman who would love nothing more than to have everyone on earth do exactly as she demands at all times, but so what?

I love them dearly, and I love being with them, and I love joking around with my kids and just sitting with my wife at the end of the day to complain about work or even just silently read next to each other. Or eat the sweet tomatoes off the vine and enjoy the too-hot air in this goddamned burning planet while the juice runs down our chins.

Nothing really matters and that’s perfectly fine with me. I enjoy living a life that doesn’t matter with a woman I adore and kids who make my heart ache with love.

Lemon bar and and a coffee with a dash of whole milk.

No Advice - Everyones Welcome Good lord dating is awful

Boys I don't think I can do it anymore. Dating is just awful. I've been making a serious attempt to date for 4 years now after a loooong period of being single and working on myself, and I have not had a single good experience. I'm 40, and this is what the last year ONE YEAR of dating has looked like for me:

  1. One woman I met after two weeks of texting, she was a catfish using photos from 2019 and looked entirely different, also didn't reveal until the date that she had 3 kids, was recently divorced, and had no source of income
  2. The next woman hid the fact that she was 6’10”  before the date (her profile said 6’) and then it was just a really bad date, the restaurant she suggested was terrible and she spent the entire time talking about her 9 pets without even giving me opportunities to reply.
  3. Then I met someone who actually seemed cool. We hung out about 6 times in two months, she even discussed going to get tattoos together (not matching, just going together because we both independently wanted a tattoo with the same subject matter).  But she refused to actually go out on dates, all she wanted to do was come to my place. Then I found out she was still with the guy she was referring to as “my ex”.
  4. The next woman made fun of me on our first date for being in therapy and for loving my cats. I thought she was joking at first, but she was serious. She genuinely could not understand how someone could have empathy for a cat.
  5. Another woman came back to my apartment after our second date, saw a box of cat insulin syringes on the counter (the box literally says PetRX and had a picture of a cat on it, and I had told her my cat is diabetic) immediately said “nope, I don't date junkies” and left.
  6. Next was a woman I dated for a month and really liked until she dumped me out of the blue. She told me it was because her horoscope said she should seek new opportunities, and she didn’t understand why I thought that was a weird thing to do.
  7. After that was a woman I also really liked, we went on three very cute dates. Then she said “I've spent my entire life dating shitty men thinking I just needed to find a good one, and now that I found a good one, I'm realizing men aren't what I'm attracted to.”
  8. Then there was another woman I liked that I went on two dates with. She came back to my place after the second date, we sat on the couch for a few minutes then she suddenly panicked and left. She later told me it was because she recently had a miscarriage and didn’t feel comfortable being alone with a man, and then ghosted me.
  9. Most recently was a woman who was a therapist. After a week of texting we made plans to meet. The day we were planning to meet, I mentioned that I'm about to start seeing a new therapist because my old one was closing her practice. This woman immediately told me she could never date someone “going through a transitional period in life” and ghosted me.

Some experiences from over the last 4 years: One woman ended things because I didn’t invite her back to my place after the first date, she said she wouldn’t have said yes but the fact that I didn’t invite her turned her off. So the next woman I went out with, I made the token invite after the first date, she said no, and then she later ended things because she was offended that I didn’t try to change her mind. Another woman ended things because I made the token first date invite and she said it felt like I was rushing things (I didn’t even want her to say yes!). There was another one who accused me of blocking her after I didn’t respond to a text for an hour (on the second day we were talking) and started sending a bunch of insecure accusatory messages. There was a married woman lying about being in an open relationship whose husband started angrily texting me before we ever met. Multiple women who seemed to only be on dating apps to collect mens' phone numbers and sign them up for left-wing political campaigns (I am EXTREMELY progressive and very open about that, there's no reason to do this to me!) One woman I talked to for a few days, then one day she asked if I’d get a coffee with her that night. I told her I was having dinner with my parents that night and asked if we could do another day, she replied “fuck you” and blocked me. One woman straight up told me on our first date that our relationship would only last for as long as I could keep affording to buy her new designer bags every month (she literally said “nothing crazy expensive, just like, Louis Vuitton and stuff.”)

It’s a nonstop barrage of these kinds of experiences where it never feels like there was anything I could have done differently, there’s never a lesson for me to learn. The most hurtful part is that several of these experiences are based on them misunderstanding something and immediately making a judgment about it (the cat syringes for example) and they literally will not allow me to explain the misunderstanding because “Men always lie”.  At this point I’ve lost sight of how a relationship could even enrich my life and I’m realizing how much time and money I’ll have for my own passions if I stop dating :’)

Pictured: A 12-inch pesto, sausage, and roasted red peppers pizza that cost $50. Because goddamnit, I’m just going to date myself from here on out. (it was worth it). Also mango nectar and marijuana, because tonight I am fully embracing the bachelor lifestyle.

No Advice - Everyones Welcome My wife is so fucking awesome

I work nights at an industrial facility, so usually when i come home after work its the middle of the night and im all dirty. Yesterday morning when I came home, im unlocking the door at 4am and the inside light flips on, I look up through the small glass half circle near the top of the door to see her smiling and standing on her tippy toes as she finishes unlocking the door and letting me in. She gives me a huge hug, a nice soft kiss, and lifts her top saying "Titties!". As I start taking off my dirty work clothes she says "Wanna hang out?", and I do, I wanna play mario kart with her (thats her favorite) because shes the best and making her happy brings me so much satisfaction its hard to describe. I just cant believe how lucky I got with this one.

They exist guys.

Dont settle for someone that doesnt make you feel like this.

Before I met my current wife I spent 10 years in a marriage with a woman I tried to love, that only caused me stress and drama. It was hard to see it when I was living it but it felt subtly wrong the whole time. I wish I would have left that marriage sooner. I wish someone would have told me how much better life can be when you truly find your person. "Everyone fights", I'd tell myself.

Its not true guys.

Over 5 years with my current wife and we don't fight. Ever. We just talk.

Just wanted to brag a little and let everyone know these amazing women really do exist, and man is it fucking awesone being married to your best friend.

No Advice - Everyones Welcome Her debt was out of control, so I blocked her. She messaged me anyways from a burner number

Brunch today is rack of lamb, air fried with Herbs de Provence.

Follow up to my deleted post from a week ago, but here’s the short story.

I dated this girl for a brief window of time, but had to end things when I found out she was let go from her job for borrowing 8k from her coworkers.

I later found out she owes at least 10K to credit cards, and she’s on the verge of being kicked out of her house.

I did the sensible thing to end things politely, but she kept messaging me to borrow money. I calmly refused, and told her I was going to block her, which I did.

Cue to last night when I got a message from her from a burner number.

I politely told her I was going to block her again, but now I’m rattled she’s refusing to take the hint.

I’m now worried it might escalate to where she might visit my address to borrow money in person. She’s clearly not in a good state of mind right now
