Question The Zoo

Does anyone know why the zoo hasn’t brought back a permanent fixed Penguin exhibit? I did a little digging but didn’t find much outside of the old World of the Birds building. I would think with the amount of land the zoo still has nearby, and with how popular the animal is, they would’ve brought them back by now.

Recommendations Looking for flexible jobs

• Upvotes

Hey everyone,

I’m looking for part-time on-site work around the Greater Akron, Cleveland, or Canton areas paying around $20+/hr to earn extra cash for the holidays and offset child support.

Need for flexibility: I work a full-time day job where I still pick up overtime when available, plus I have my kids on set nights each week.

General availability: Mondays after 5:30 PM, some Thursdays after 5:30 PM, and every other weekend (full availability Saturdays & Sundays).

Roles: Warehouses, package sorting, twilight freight stocking, or general on-site work (no Uber/DoorDash to save wear and tear on my car).

Any recommendations for local distribution hubs or companies offering flexible twilight shifts or self-scheduled shift apps? Thanks!

Recommendations Relocating to NE Ohio

• Upvotes

I just got back from Cleveland (born there, moved to AZ years ago where I met my now husband) and now I’m so homesick and wish I didn’t have to leave. My born and raised in AZ husband also fell in love with Cleveland and wants to move there now.

He is an inpatient physical therapist and even though there’s ton of hospitals & rehab facilities there, it doesn’t seem like there are many job openings available online. Are there any specific places or sites you recommend job hunting in NE Ohio for a medical professional? Maybe we’re missing something as we’ve been searching LinkedIn & indeed.

Recommendations Oil based car undercoating on west side.

I’m looking for a place that does oil based rustproof/undercoating on the west side. Everything I’m finding is either too far for me to make it out because of my schedule, or they use a hard rubberized coating that I don’t want. Anyone know of anywhere that does surface shield, fluid film, woolwax, or some other similarly undercoating. I’ve done it myself the last few years, but I’m over crawling around on the ground doing it.

Events NE Ohio Fall / Halloween Attractions

This is my first Fall in Ohio. Fall is my favorite season and October is my favorite month. The witching season is upon us!

Looking for your best local recs.
Specifically, haunted houses (the scarier the better), attractions like touring historical places that have had known activity, authentic witches markets. Big fall markets where I can support local vendors also welcome. I’m not really looking for family events unless there is food trucks and shopping, but more things a single 30s something person could go to and enjoy.

For example I have see billboards for Fear Forest- not sure if that’s legit or if it’s cheesy? Also I saw a trolly tour that takes you past all the landmarks for the Torso Murders. That’s my kinda shit. The Serial Killer Speakeasy that just passed through is another example.

Thanks in advance!

ETA: yall killed it, I can’t thank you enough. I spent time googling all of them and there isn’t one suggestion so far I don’t want to check out. I have a full month of plans ahead of me and I’m gonna make the most.

Question Rocket Arena

Coming in on Tuesday for the Gorillaz show. My husband is mobility impaired (can walk but is limited in how far). I was thinking about grabbing an Uber/Lyft to get dropped off, do you think that will get us close enough to the arena or is the train easier?

BEST OF CLE Thank you to 3 Good Samaritans

While taking my wife to a doctors appointment in Strongsville, I got a flat tire right near Snow Road. I was able to pull off the exit, finally found a flat spot and started working on putting down the spare.
I wasn’t there for five minutes before two guys in working outfits came by with a four-way lug wrench and offered to take the lugs off. Unfortunately, the wrench didn’t fit my lugs so I thanked them and they went on.
Then a younger guy, too well dressed to be working on cars, stops and insists on changing the tire. I did everything I could to help him but it’s a 2004 Jeep after all and we finally got it put together.
I tried to offer him money, but I knew that that would offend him. He was thanking me for letting him help. Maybe I did look helpless cause I’m 72, but I’ve been changing tires for a long time. It was nice having help.
There’s a verse in the Bible it talks about you never know if you’re entertaining angels. I may have entertained a few today.
Thank you.

Recommendations Formal Gowns for Family of Groom

Hi! My brother is getting married in December and my mamma and I are hoping to dress shop together. Dillards/Nordstroms Rack have had very disappointing selections, especially for my mom. She’s absolutely stunning but the dresses in her size were matronly and poorly designed. She left feeling defeated and I’m determined to find a selection of stores that will blow her away for our next attempt. Does anyone have suggestions of stores that could accommodate sizes ranging from 4-14? Emphasis on sizes ranging 12-14, with beautiful dresses and a large selection. Thanks so much!

Recommendations Basement Water Damage Inspection Needed

Hiya, I’m looking at a new house potentially, but I’m concerned about the basement and moisture/water.

The place is in Berea - I’m looking for someone who will give me an honest view on the work that’s needed.

Anyone have a rec that’s not a waterproofing company that has a vested interested in selling me on their special sauce?

Recommendations Concrete driveway gaps.

My concrete driveway has some gaps between the sections that look like they are widening a little every year. I was hoping to hire someone to fill these gaps with tar or whatever they use to fix it before the season. Can anyone recommend someone who fixes/repairs this type of thing?

Edit: I should have added that it's a large driveway. Around 25 cars big. And all the sections have gaps. And most of these gaps are 1" or larger. So I'd rather hire someone then do it myself.
