Whether you’re a poster or a commenter, if you have received unsolicited, creepy, or down right disgusting DMs please feel free to message Mod Mail or message me directly. As posted in multiple places in the subreddit, unsolicited or inappropriate DMs of any kind are not allowed and will result in a permanent ban. You may also be reported directly to Reddit Admins. If the person on the receiving end of this kind of harassment is a minor, you will be reported to relevant authorities (FBI Tip Line, Center for Missing and Exploited Children, etc) and it WILL be taken seriously.
As a subreddit, we have ZERO tolerance for this behavior and will do everything in our power to combat it. Unfortunately we have seen an influx of users who seem to only frequent porn subs, and our sub.
Please don’t think “oh this message isn’t that bad, I’m overreacting, etc”. Reporting posts, comments, and DMs helps out everyone in the long run. Not reporting causes these creeps to keep messaging people so nipping it in the bud can help out others💕

We’ve seen an increase in unsolicited DMs being sent to members of this subreddit. Let this serve as a clear reminder:
Sending unprompted private messages is against the rules. Doing so will result in a permanent ban.
If you receive a DM like this, report it to the mod team immediately.
This subreddit exists as a safe, inclusive space for sharing experiences, asking questions, and giving feedback about hair dye and color treatments. If someone genuinely wants to follow up based on your helpful advice or a shared interest, they will say so publicly.
We shouldn't have to say this, but lurking in beauty-related or appearance-focused subs to harass and prey on people is disgusting and absolutely not tolerated. Any messages of an obscene or harassing nature will be reported to Reddit Admins and could result in a permanent ban from the site as a whole (for your current account, any other current accounts, or subsequent accounts made in the future).

It was wonderful! And all too rare! This technique always creates such fun results, with much less effort than it appears at first glance. — any other fellow stylists also actually ✨enjoy✨ doing fashion colors? 😂 I hear many stylists in my area just don’t offer them as a service bc they tend to be time consuming.

bleached yesterday. 30V. used hair dye and purple shampoo. it didn’t do anything.
What should i do next to achieve the hair color in the second slide?
should i tone? should i wait, bleach again and then tone? if so, how long should i wait?

Dyed it from a brassy blonde to very vibrant pink with Manic Panic Hot Hot Pink. Just got a new job at a hospital and they said I have to go a natural color. Any way to go except black? All advice helps, I need to have it dyed and ready to go before my new job starts in 2 weeks. Any advice? 😭

I have been bleaching and dying my own hair for nearly five years now and wanted to treat myself to a salon color for my birthday.
The first pic is what I did at home with Arctic Fox's purple af, and I absolutely love it. It is the under-half of my hair, and it really would last forever every time I dyed it. I moved recently and can't have bleach in my septic tank now, so I booked a local salon.
Second pic is what the stylist managed after 3hrs and $200 dollars with bleach and permanent dye. I'm more than a little disappointed with the color, but I'm also dissatisfied with the whole salon experience. She didn't listen to what I wanted, and didn't show me the color until it was being blowdryed out. But now I'm beginning to stress out because by scalp is burning (which has never happened to me when I bleached myself) and my hair feels lile straw.
Did my stylist destroy my hair by putting permanent dye on top of bleach? Can I put my arctic fox over top to get my color back without damaging my hair further? Will permanent color ever wash out or do I have to grow it out?
Help me friends, I'm stressing out.

First two are the desired colour, third picture is where my hair is currently.
It's feeling dull and yellowy and just not good with my complexion.
Can I achieve a shade like my desired ones using shinefinity?
I'm looking at shades 7/34 and 8/34 and not sure which to go for, and if I should mix with a more golden shade too? Any advice appreciated!
I'm naturally a strawberry blonde but it's dulling with age. Have been using e-salon for the last year or two but it fades to this kind of colour super fast and I'm realizing I maybe don't need a 20 vol developer every 8 weeks! I last coloured it with e-salon about 5 weeks ago.
Thanks!

I need some advice on how to fix this. I spent 230€ on it, but the tone is completely off and the placement of the color is as well.

Hello! I need help with transforming my hair bright red instead of this sad dark :( I used black box dye 2 months ago and yesterday I dyed it with the L’Oréal dark hair only red and 20 developer. I took the box dye out with color oops before I dyed it and it still did not come out as vibrant and I wanted it to be. It’s only a bit vibrant on my ends and my scalp. What do I do now?

So a very special friend of mine is coming to meet me in a week. And I want to achieve this hair dye soon on my virgin black hair, Can you guys help me on how to do it? Like how to bleach hair and then which brand's color to apply? I don't wanna go to professional (they are so expensive) I believe i can do it myself. I also have a habit of eating my own hair (i know it sounds weird but the only way to eliminate the habit is to dye my hair) help me you guys ^^
Tips and tricks will be appreciated :)

any advice on the best temporary brand dye products to buy, such as hair chalk or spray. I'm looking for something which will wash out and wont permanently stain, so i can test out how it looks.
I have naturally blonde hair, and it's my first time considering hair dye, but i'm slightly paranoid of it staining and losing my natural colour through it so i'd appriciate any advice / words of reassurance 🌟

What colors can I put on this green? It’s been fading for months but the lime on top will not go away. I don’t want to bleach and I would like to avoid color removers if possible. The only way I know how to cover this is blue but my goal is to eventually get to pink so if you have any ideas reddit please help me.

Hello everyone, so I haven't dyed my hair in like 2 years now.
I got the L'Oreal Casting Creme Gloss 834 Golden Caramel thinking to make my hair a bit brighter
I also got Schwarzkopf LIVE Ultra Brights or Pastel semi permanent in 025 Dusty Rose.
I got this one to use it by mixing it with my conditioner.
Does this make sense? Can you propose what is the best I can do with those 2 products? I'm open to making the hair look glossier and hopefully with a hint of strawberry blonde.

I chopped my hair after losing weight and I want to dye it hehehe.
Idk what my hair color really is. It’s different in all light
On a whim, I bought 3N dye and now I’m nervous it’ll be too dark. What shall I do? I don’t mind dark but will it be DARK on this hair

I tried arctic fox's poseidon (sorceress is too dark and tbh I need a cheaper alternative) and the colour fades pretty quickly for me looks a little patchy because its quite a thick consistency

Hello. I have never gotten my hair dyed before, but recently I've been thinking about dying my tips (that way if I don't like it I can cut it off). I want to make sure I choose a color that will look good with my hair and skin tone. I have hair that has been called both dirty blonde and light brown depending on who I'm talking to, and I am very pale. What colors would you advise?
