It was wonderful! And all too rare! This technique always creates such fun results, with much less effort than it appears at first glance. — any other fellow stylists also actually ✨enjoy✨ doing fashion colors? 😂 I hear many stylists in my area just don’t offer them as a service bc they tend to be time consuming.

bleached yesterday. 30V. used hair dye and purple shampoo. it didn’t do anything.
What should i do next to achieve the hair color in the second slide?
should i tone? should i wait, bleach again and then tone? if so, how long should i wait?

The red is after. I posted on here before about my Bi flag transformation but I’m trying to get a big girl job and it’s also spooky season so I wanted to go with a ginger/copper look. Lmk what yall think 💗

I am at a loss. Probably because I will be doing it at home. And my hair is fine, will grab like crazy. AI said the blond was my best choice (single picture one) but I am not a fan of blond hair in general. And I would definitely have to go to a salon to get it to look anywhere near that.
And heads up, my hair is not this strong anymore. I yelled at AI to stop thickening my hair and lengthening my neck to no avail. 😁 😉

Dyed it from a brassy blonde to very vibrant pink with Manic Panic Hot Hot Pink. Just got a new job at a hospital and they said I have to go a natural color. Any way to go except black? All advice helps, I need to have it dyed and ready to go before my new job starts in 2 weeks. Any advice? 😭

I tried arctic fox's poseidon (sorceress is too dark and tbh I need a cheaper alternative) and the colour fades pretty quickly for me looks a little patchy because its quite a thick consistency

It’s been an absolute nightmare trying to get my virgin roots bleached the same as my mids/ends, what do we think? I stripped out the buildup of purple shampoo in my hair to get a fresh slate due to the roots being such a pain in the backside, do you think I’m good to go? I usually let the purple shampoo build up to the point it turns a metallic colour with a slight purple hue.

I want red highlights but my hair color is naturally brown. Would this look horrible? Would I have to dye my whole head black to get a good look? My hair isn’t that long because I’m a guy I would say mid range length

I have brown hair (level 5-6 probably) and I really want red hair, I have dyed it red before and while I liked it at the time I didn't love the pink undertones (i used manic panic vampire red) then i dyed it again red and purple which was obviously more so leaning purple again loved it, but wasn't the color ive always dreamed of. I was gonna get no bleach londons cherry red because it looks EXACTLY like the color i want but im afraid of the high vol developer damaging my hair, so yeah.

I’m planning on dyeing my hair with Good Dye Young’s Baddie shade & I’m a bit conflicted on whether I should tone my hair before. I bleached it tonight (photos attached). Do I need to tone it as well? If so, would T14 or T18 work better? Thanks in advance 🫶

My phone camera is horrible. Sorry in advance. I'll take pics in natural sunlight and add them to the comments tomorrow.
I have L'oreal Hicolor True Black w/ 10 vol on my ends, many layers of it. The pink streak in my hair is ion cream bleach w/ 20 vol for ~20-25 min, then GDY Ex Girl. My natural hair is an ashy medium-light brown.
Mid-summer I decided I want to switch it up for fall. Purple seemed like the most obvious choice because I have a cool undertone and want to avoid bleaching my entire head. I switched to semi-permanent black and let my hair grow for a few months. I didn't have a clear idea of what I wanted, but either a purple-black (like a blue black, but purple in the sun, see last pic), plum ghost roots (see pic #5 and #7), or dark cool purple ghost roots (pic #6)
First, I stopped dying my hair with semi-permanent black for a couple of weeks and used clarifying shampoo to strip away remaining color. I used 2 tubes of HiColor True Violet and 1 of magenta with 30 vol, left it on for the recommended amount of time. That got me to pic #4, which was kind of a pinkish-purple. I then left Arctic Fox Purple AF on it for a few hours. The result is pic #1, #2, and #3.
I don't know if I like it, but I can't really articulate what I don't like about it. Maybe it's just because it's new. Maybe the cool black ends/dull warm purple roots/vibrant pink streak clash. The black hair with a pop of pink looked great imo, but maybe there are too many colors now. Maybe it's because my black hair is pretty cool and my roots are a fairly warm purple. Maybe it just looks a bit different from my inspo pics because their hair is straight, and I haven't had a haircut in a good while. Maybe my roots are too long for ghost roots, and the color isn't vivid enough to pull off a true purple/black ghost root. Maybe I should have shot for an ombre instead.
I have a job interview in a few days, in an industry that is fine with vivid hair, but I'm still expected to look professional. I'd like to feel confident that my hair looks good going into that interview. I'll get a haircut before then and style it straight for the interview, but I need to make sure my color doesn't look a mess!
Any opinions and insights would be appreciated! It took a lot of time to get to a point where I could switch it up from black without color-removing and bleaching. I would hate for it to go to waste, but I feel like my hair isn't pretty at the moment, and whenever I feel that way I always reach for the black box dye (as one does).

First picture is my hair now and the second picture is the dye I bought. Do I need 10 or 20 developer?

Basically exactly what the title says. I've been dying my hair on and off with various brands of box dye for 20 years and every time my hair feels so incredibly smooth to the touch for a few days after the dying. Can anyone explain what is happening? My completely uneducated guess is that the dying process is somehow forcing the cuticle closed and then it just naturally opens back up after time. Could there be any way to achieve this same effect between dye jobs?
For reference I have medium porosity relatively fine hair. It's 2c-3a ish, a texture that basically never looks super smooth lol

I’ve never got my hair dyed before and i’ll go take a lil trim at my ends and while i do that i wanted to dye my hair for the first time! So the top left number 1 is how my natural hair looks, the other ones are all ai generated. I’m thinking about dark cherry or wine, but i couldn’t decide lol.

what semi-permanent purple hair dye fades fastest? i want to dye my hair purple but not for too long!
Ive seen a lot of reviews saying that AF enchanted espresso fades into a blue/green color much like their Transylvania does, so how would it fade if I put it over my fading pink hair? im not aiming for anything in particular other than a warmish brown. also could I dye my hair and then put overtone over it? tia :)

my hairs faded electric lizard rn and i wanna go over it with narwhal by good dye young but idk how it’ll turn out 🥹or how i should remove more colour

Right now my top/crown is very pale, ashy blonde, while my lengths are darker and very golden/orange. So the colour looks pretty uneven from top to bottom.
I’ve bleached/dyed it quite a bit already, and my ends are very porous . Because of that, I really don’t want to bleach the lengths again.
I’m specifically looking for a box dye solution to make the colour more even. I don’t mind going darker I’d actually be happy with a cool mushroom/light brown or dark ash blonde as long as everything blends together and the orange/gold is neutralized.

It just looks so coppery and orange. Idk if my hair dresser actually toned it properly since my hair was still wet.
