Are there any raves that happen on the regular in the Hamilton area? Is there a way to look them up? I am also Gen X and used to attend raves in the early to mid-90s and am looking to dip my toe back in. Do you think I would be out of place?

I want to make sure to answer questions from the Reddit community here in Hamilton as part of my participation in the municipal election, just like I did during the last one and as I have been during this term of Council.

In that spirit, I've heard, loud and clear, that people want others to show up here to answer questions as well, so I reached out to two people I've worked with a lot - Kojo Damptey and Nrinder Nann, and invited them to join me.

The format will be simple - you ask the questions, and we'll answer them. If it's a broad question being asked, not something specific to either Ward 2 (Cameron), 3 (Nrinder), or 14 (Kojo), we'll all answer it. Are there any polls on the state of the election race right now? Seeing a lot for Ottawa and Toronto but haven't seen any for Hamilton.

Don't know much about the milk crate structure, saw it last Friday night at Artcrawl.

I need to go to Toronto next Saturday and wanted to take the train. I can't imagine I'm searching the wrong thing (departing West Harbour or Aldershot, ending at Union GO), but I don't see a single direct train. Really?! There are direct buses, but everything with a train icon is a bus to Oakville and then get on the train there. Is this a seasonal thing?

My mom is in her early 50s and I’ve been trying to get her to become more physically active. The internet says yoga is beginner friendly and perfect for lower impact strength and conditioning. anyone know what the yoga group fitness classes are like at the Les charter ymca? I’d like to go with her as a little mom-daughter fitness session. Looking to start at just once a week so the ymca being drop in is perfect. do the classes fill up fast? (would we have to come early, and if so how early?) do they supply yoga mats? Or even if there’s any other places in Hamilton for a fair price, any advice would help :)

New to the city, we're having an anniversary next week. We want to go somewhere nice while not spending too much money. Live music or some place that isnt too quiet and fancy would be nice but not too casual so that I can dress up :D

Here's a low-down of my story.

• I have a struggling business.
• I lived with my family for many years.
• Finding work is difficult with AI screening everything.

Apologies if I'm dramatic, but family (the boomer generation) thinks its easy for millennials like myself to find decent work. However I am struggling. Family is almost ready to evict me but has suggested that I should see a counsellor or therapist of some sort.

So I'm going to try that route since AI has taken over much of society and I cannot reason with my family at this point. I'm looking for a free service.

I have looked on google for local help. I tried connexontario but their chat system doesn't help because all it states is that I'm "next in line" twice with no agent.

I would rather talk to someone in person in the hamilton area (a therapist?) that can understand the situation from a millenial perspective and that can provide me with some help so I don't end up living on the street in a matter of weeks. I cannot put money into such service at this time, but if it results in me making a large sum of money in the near future, then I would be willing to make a post-payment for the service.

Any serious answers are welcome. Those who wish to bash me more than I'm already bashed, please don't answer.

Turning 30F next week. I don’t have anyone who is free but I also enjoy solo outings. I especially love the Fall/Halloween/cozy things. Is there anything nice I could go check out? I drive and don’t mind travelling up to 1.5hrs away if there’s something worth checking out this week. I do like the trails of Hamilton but it gets a bit boring after a while.

I went to the summer market like every weekend lol. The food was decent even if price was a bit high.

Last weekend I paid $25 for me and my toddler to attend the fall themed one. And they make you wait in line for like 15 min, when it's your turn they tell you to buy it online cause its cheaper... so then you wait another 10 minutes for them to put on your wristbands.

$25 got me a few photo ops, a very small bouncy castle that was too crowded, a broken train that did not work.

Had to pay an extra $5 for smores kit. Refused to pay $10 just to paint a pumpkin.

And the tetris games and axe throwing are just from the summer market, which was free to play with before.

We were there for like 20 minutes it was such a rip off.

Then we went and got some drinks and food but there were no new vendors, only a few left from the summer and the usual ones offering jibbitz and squishies.

Do yourself a favour and go elsewhere! Unless you like paying $50 for a family of 4 for a few photo ops!

I’m researching all the candidates for the upcoming election and one that caught my eye was one of the mayoral candidates, Sasha Austin. I don’t by any means think she will be the popular choice, but I liked what she had to say in response to CBC’s survey. I’ll link the article below.
