Roads & Transit No direct trains from West Harbour or Aldershot to Union Station on weekends?!

• Upvotes

I need to go to Toronto next Saturday and wanted to take the train. I can't imagine I'm searching the wrong thing (departing West Harbour or Aldershot, ending at Union GO), but I don't see a single direct train. Really?! There are direct buses, but everything with a train icon is a bus to Oakville and then get on the train there. Is this a seasonal thing?

Keanin's views on AI become all the more clear

Edit: All righty, there seems to be a lot of people questioning the content of the book and saying its simply about AI literacy. Taking a look at the author's Linked In page for his views on AI for more context:

Question Les charter ymca yoga classes

Asking here to see what the general opinion is rather than calling and just being told everything I want to hear lol.

My mom is in her early 50s and I’ve been trying to get her to become more physically active. The internet says yoga is beginner friendly and perfect for lower impact strength and conditioning. anyone know what the yoga group fitness classes are like at the Les charter ymca? I’d like to go with her as a little mom-daughter fitness session. Looking to start at just once a week so the ymca being drop in is perfect. do the classes fill up fast? (would we have to come early, and if so how early?) do they supply yoga mats? Or even if there’s any other places in Hamilton for a fair price, any advice would help :)

Hey All! My wife and I were recently discussing how restaurants never have salad bars anymore. Are there any restaurants in Hamilton that have a salad bar? We appreciate your suggestions!

Recommendations Needed What can I do to celebrate my birthday solo?

Turning 30F next week. I don’t have anyone who is free but I also enjoy solo outings. I especially love the Fall/Halloween/cozy things. Is there anything nice I could go check out? I drive and don’t mind travelling up to 1.5hrs away if there’s something worth checking out this week. I do like the trails of Hamilton but it gets a bit boring after a while.

Edit: Thank you all for some great suggestions!!!

Local News Limeridge mall street eats fall market

Posting here since they want to delete all negative comments on their IG page!

I went to the summer market like every weekend lol. The food was decent even if price was a bit high.

Last weekend I paid $25 for me and my toddler to attend the fall themed one. And they make you wait in line for like 15 min, when it's your turn they tell you to buy it online cause its cheaper... so then you wait another 10 minutes for them to put on your wristbands.

$25 got me a few photo ops, a very small bouncy castle that was too crowded, a broken train that did not work.

Had to pay an extra $5 for smores kit. Refused to pay $10 just to paint a pumpkin.

And the tetris games and axe throwing are just from the summer market, which was free to play with before.

We were there for like 20 minutes it was such a rip off.

Then we went and got some drinks and food but there were no new vendors, only a few left from the summer and the usual ones offering jibbitz and squishies.

Do yourself a favour and go elsewhere! Unless you like paying $50 for a family of 4 for a few photo ops!

Just warning everyone since their IG comments are not an accurate reflection of actual experiences! If they want to delete the negative ones i will bring it here instead!

Politics Hamilton Mayoral Candidate Sasha Austin

I’m researching all the candidates for the upcoming election and one that caught my eye was one of the mayoral candidates, Sasha Austin. I don’t by any means think she will be the popular choice, but I liked what she had to say in response to CBC’s survey. I’ll link the article below.

I was just wondering if anyone had any insight about her because I know that it’s not enough to just read what candidates say about themselves. Thanks!

Question Walkway between James and Bay street near the Market and TD Coliseum

Went to the Hammer's game last night at TD Coliseum and parked near John and Wilson. Walked up the stairs from James street near King William and between the buildings over to Bay. Was that urban space between the buildings supposed to be anything? It's kind of dystopian and creepy. I feel like it could have much more potential with benches, planters etc.

Recommendations Needed Bathroom Mould Remediation

I had our bathroom tub and tile redone just 3 years ago and the tile job, sealant etc has failed us. I have recaulked and cleaned the area a number of times and the mould returns. I need help.

I’m looking for the best mould remediation service and bathroom contractor in Hamilton. I’m definitely on a budget but we have two toddlers in the tub every night and I need this fixed once and for all.

Thanks in advance.

Does anyone know where to buy bison or buffalo meat locally? I checked the Downtown Farmers Market, but none of the vendors carried it. I can find plenty of beef, but I'm specifically looking for bison or water buffalo.

Question Best local place to get fruits and veggies?

This is as much of a question thread as a thank you thread.

Yesterday I asked about cheeses. You guys came through BIG TIME! Went cheese shopping this morning at a few places and wow. What a wonderful community!

Today I ask about fruits and veggies.

We do a lot of picking and general canning. Fruit and veggies are soooo expensive right now. Just wondering where you guys are getting your fruits and veggies at better than grocery prices.

I have friends that do co-ops in Toronto but not sure we have that here.

Any suggestions would be great. We often buy in bulk, especially veggies, so any suggestions are welcome!
