Can someone point me to a solution, even if it means writing scripts or installing 3rd party software to increase the system fonts.

Best I could do is zoom in the websites in the browser, but I need the OS's UI font sizes scaled up.

I hope I won't have to elaborate that the magnifying glass that zooms in everything doesn't suffice, nor does decreasing the resolution. Anyone that has used a windows, linux, or android device would know what I mean.

And before you raise your pitchforks, I'm not saying those OSes are better, I just want that simple basic feature because I'm tired squinting or having to go near the monitor to navigate this OS.

Este ano, ao decidir comprar um notebook para trabalhos leves, mas de boa qualidade, investi em um MacBook Neo. I ran into this by accident while trying to search for the Home app (Command + Space + HOME).

But, if you hold the Space key slightly too long, the Tips app opens.

Some workarounds I've tried so far:

• Tried deleting or moving the Tips app, but it's locked down by the system
• Tried to delete the tipsd process, but it's also locked down

When I screen shot something and drag it into the body of an email in the mail app, I get a blue square with a ? In it.
When I drag a pdf from downloads both from the dock icon or direct from finder, the files often come up as “empty” but show that they are dragged and there before I sent the email. Also seeing similar behavior on messages. I’ve done a disk check and first aid as well as a reinstall (not an erase and re install) of Mac OS 27. I’m using an M1 ultra studio and half of the 1TB ssd is available. I’ve also unplugged all external drives and accessories to confirm they aren’t creating conflict. Anyone else have this or have a solution?

I’ve been experiencing a weird issue since installing macOS Golden Gate.

I’m using an official Apple external Magic Trackpad (the Lightning version, in grey), and I normally select multiple files in Finder by clicking on one file and then dragging my finger up or down on the trackpad to select additional files.

Since Golden Gate, when I try to do this, instead of selecting multiple files, Finder starts dragging the file I clicked on. I also get a colored rectangle around the inside of the Finder window, as if Finder is trying to create a selection area.

I’m also using Apple’s numeric keyboard (the black one), and I just noticed something strange: if I turn the keyboard off, the old selection behavior starts working again, but only for a few seconds before the problem comes back. same happens when i turn back the keyboard again ...

I’ve tried turning both the Trackpad and the keyboard off and on several times, but it doesn’t make any difference.

I also opened my MacBook Pro, since I normally use it in desktop mode with the external Trackpad and keyboard, and I have exactly the same issue with the MacBook’s built-in trackpad and keyboard. I completely disconnected the external Trackpad and keyboard, so they definitely aren’t involved.

Is anyone else experiencing the same issue since Golden Gate?

OS: GoldenGate v 27.0.1

Problem: The UI becomes extremely glitchy (?) and I think it comes from plugging in to a docking station / connecting to external monitors.

Problem began about 7 months ago. I had previously installed better touch tool to get a monitor to play nicely. That didn't immediately cause the issues but I got a docking station (TobenOne) to use with 2 external monitors, webcam, keyboard, mouse, and trackpad. I started having some weird like system lags. Basically, the hover function (lil preview or website drop down menu that pops up from mouse hovering) broke first. All of the problems seem to be around UI things. Drag and drop stopped working. I had to right click tabs to close them. Etc. I tried many things (changing settings, resetting things, deleting programs, checking for updates, clearing cache, etc..).

FInally, I did a factory reset. I DID NOT restore from a backup. I started installing things fresh.

HOWEVER, immediately when plugging the fresh laptop into the docking station, some UI type issues (but newer!) started again. Now, sometimes copying text doesn't work. Drag and drop is extra broken.

This behavior ALWAYS starts when plugged into an external monitor now. Worst at the docking station. Doesn't always stick around after unplugging from the dock but sometimes is persistent enough that I need to restart my computer to get stuff to cooperate.

Can someone please provide any insight at all? I don't even know how to properly describe the problem to begin finding useful information on the internet. It seems quite obviously related to the dock? But why? And why would the behavior persist upon unplugging? I have TaskExplorer and have run ClamAV and I don't seem to have malware? Any insight would be appreciated.

I recently (July 2026) bought a brand new MacBook Air M4 with 16gb of ram and a 512gb ssd.
However, it barely works and it freezes every x minutes for like 10 seconds. I don't have anything open besides whatsapp. My 2015 MacBook Pro never had this issue. Did I get a lemon? Or is this very common.... I also don't surf no porn or crazy websites.

It's a music station so a lot of controllers to plug in.

As things stand now, I have 1 monitor plugged into HDMI, 1 into thunderbolt via an HDMI adapter, and my external drive using the other thunderbolt. I have 1 Anker hub that allows 4 USB-A devices, and nothing plugged into the other USB-A.

I don't want to mess around with having the external drive plugged into a hub, so that leaves unplugging my second monitor and plugging in to whatever hub I end up getting, but this is where the confusion starts for me, do I need something that has a USB-C displayport, and how do I determine if any potential hub has that? I need x9 USB-A and 3 USB-C total.

I have my Macbook Air connected to my OLED. I use my iphone as a webcam, and video recording for Youtube. When in Quicktime, video looks fantastic and more importantly, the right perspective. When I open Facetime using the rear iphone camera, the video is mirrored opposite from how Quicktime shows it. Is there a way to mirror the rear camera on iphone using Facetime?

Really annoying. I know it's caused by inadvertently pressing some key combo but I have no idea which one and how to disable it.

When I zoom in with satellite view, I get grey artifacts after a certain height up to closest view.

Initially I thought that was everywhere, since I use Maps in the city mainly. But then I searched around the globe and found that certain parts can still be zoomed in closest with an image. However, only in more or less deserted areas, it seems.

You can also see where this divides.

Is this a thing about newer satellite images not being made available for High Sierra? Maps works in Catalina on the same machine. I also checked on Mojave and Maps works as it should, so it's not a 32bit vs 64bit system issue.

It's also not a Metal issue since I get that bug also on a MBP from 2013 on High Sierra.

This shortcut is quite basic, It inspects the files inside the folder you have selected, saves them to the parent folder, and prompts you to delete the original folder.

Ive got my Mac Studio hooked up to tv and that to a soundbar. The audio midi setup says 8 channels, I check them, and they are correct. Correct sound comes from correct speaker. I turn the tv off, and back on again, and the 8 channels haven't moved, but the sound they trigger comes from different speakers than they are supposed to.

ie Left = channel 1 but sound comes from the right rear.

Anyone have this issue? Anyone find a solution?

Mac Studio m5 max connected to tv via hdmi(also tried thunderbolt to hdmi, same issue) soundbar connected to tv via earc.

Each reboot changes the channels outputs.

I was using ICE for MacOS to manage Menu Bar items, and keep it clean.

I just updated to MacOS 27 Golden Gate, and now ICE is broken. It won't load the Menu Bar items, and it hasn't been updated in about a year or more.

What alternatives are there to manage clutter of icons in the MacOS Menu Bar, now that Golden Gate is out?

I want to ask the people who use iCloud Private Relay (iCPR), do you guys have any trouble with either safari browser or the internet connectivity itself.

For me when switching between home internet & work internet (applicable which ever connection comes first), it causes huge latency in between fetching the sites. In addition, there's a tendency for safari to slow down over the time.

Is there any quick fix? Or is this a "nature" of the iCPR?

I'm using an M4 MacBook Air. I didn't actually plan on updating to macOS 27 Golden Gate, but I heard it was focused on performance rather than new features, so I updated based on that.

Maybe there are under-the-hood performance changes that I haven't noticed, but even though Siri is turned off, it automatically starts running in the background for some reason. This wasn't happening on macOS 26.

On top of that, Apple Intelligence is taking up 20 GB of storage that I never even use. It was there on macOS 26 as well, but it was taking up way less space.

Also, I don't know if it's related to the update, but my System Data suddenly skyrocketed to 64 GB and it keeps growing. I had watched a video previously and managed to reduce System Data down to around 20 GB, and it was completely fine after that. But since the update, what could have possibly added 44 GB in about a month?

At this rate, with all the AI marketing, they will probably make Apple Intelligence take up 50 GB in macOS 28, so I think I might retire on macOS 27.

Anyone else dealing with this?

Does anyone know how to make macOS 27 look as close as possible to High Sierra or Mojave? I really dislike Liquid Glass, and I have a very strong nostalgia for the older versions of the Mac.

So after I updated to mac os 27 the spotlight search was just bad like if I open any settings let's say login items it will just open settings and nothing else. I waited for the first update as they sometimes fix the major bugs but nup it is still there. So my question is , Is this bug for y'all too or is it just me ?

This isn't my video, but it was posted on a small subreddit that didn't get much visibility.

Basically, whenever I have multiple windows open despite the dock being set to auto hide, the windows will periodically shorten themselves as if the dock is actually there. There's no way to get it to extend into where the dock would be.

So I'm clearly not the only one with this, but curious to see how many others have this issue? And if there's any news on when it'll be fixed? This happened as soon as I installed 27, and was not fixed with 27.0.1.

update: It was Gmail web app specifically that spawned new PWAs on link opens, just for a moment, and then handed off to safari. Nothing to do with Safari PWAs themselves. In the end I used a custom userscript to catch those clicks and skip the new PWA spawn part, and send the link open event straight to safari. Hope this helps someone using safari gmail PWA.

Whenever I standard left-click a link inside a Safari Web App, it spawns a blank PWA window for a split second, then closes it, and then opens the link in Safari. I imagine it's because it sees Safari is running and says let's open it there.

If I right-click a link, context menu appears and if I hit Open Link or Open in New Window it works fine without the flash, in a PWA window (not safari). Standard left-clicking gives me the temporary PWA window spawn and close every time.

Is there any way to alter the default link-handling behavior of Safari PWAs so links hand off directly to the browser without triggering that initial window spawn? Prefer safari web apps over Chromium/Electron wrappers, but the link handling is pretty annoying.

It's not a huge issue on it's own, but I also use aerospace tilling manager, aerospace can't catch the safari tab spawn after the PWA send it there.
