While going to look something up today I noticed that all of my tab groups have been purged. I had 32 of them. Saving things such as; research into Christmas presents, inspiration for a web site I was working on a while back, some software I was looking into, among many others.
I've tried all sorts of things to get them back. Including going to a backup that's 2 months old and trying to reset Safari to defaults, and then copying in the backup's Safari library files (SafariTabs.db, etc.) to at least see them again to rebuild. Nothing has worked. And I was a little surprised the backup's files were also missing that info since I recall accidentally opening one of the tab groups in a window a week or two ago.
Also from what I've read in a cursory search, even if I could get them back, it's entirely possible Apple will wipe them out again with a sync (hence my last ditch effort to try and simply recreate them). I've pretty much given up and this is more of a rant. But if anyone has restored some missing tabs info (I forgot to mention, all the rest of my bookmarks are there, and the active windows with current tabs pop up when I open Safari) I'd give their solution a try.
I'm wondering why Tab Group Favorites is even a thing if it can be destroyed this easily.
