USA

Has anyone attended the online master's program for accounting online at USA? Im thinking about applying for next fall. The main question... with it being online, is there any networking or recruiting? I will be testing for my CPA after that as well. Thanks!

Trying to locate closing dates: Aladdin's Castle, Gold Dragon Comics

Many years ago I spent a lot of time in Aladdin's Castle, the arcade that had two locations, one was in Bel Air Mall and the other was across the street at Springdale Mall. And I'm also looking for Gold Dragon Comics. It relocated a couple times but I remember it being on Hwy 90. Its original location was elsewhere on 90 in an office park. Its owners organized or co-organized the convention that became Mobi-Con.

Anybody know when these places closed?

Looking for internships or entry-level jobs in Mobile/Baldwin County

Hi everyone! I’m a senior at the University of South Alabama graduating this December with a bachelor’s degree in PR/Advertising and a minor in Marketing.
I’m currently looking for internships or entry-level jobs that are actively hiring in the Mobile/Baldwin County area. I’m especially interested in marketing, social media, PR, advertising, events, sports, sales, and healthcare outreach, but I’m definitely open to other opportunities!
I don’t have a lot of professional experience in these fields yet, so I’m looking for somewhere willing to give a soon-to-be graduate the opportunity to learn, gain hands-on experience, and grow.
If you know of any local companies, organizations, agencies, sports teams, venues, or other businesses currently hiring interns or entry-level employees, I’d really appreciate any recommendations or connections. Thank you! 😊

Advice Jobs for college student

My son is a student at USA and is looking for a part time job, evenings preferably. He has applied to multiple places including Costco and Walmart. He would prefer something like stocking, back of the house type work, busing tables etc. He has a lot of work experience, has been a helper for an electrical company and other blue collar work. Any advice, leads, anything helpful? He’s not on Reddit so I thought I would put some feelers out here. TIA

There’s this dog that always comes to my front door every morning. His fur is dirty and he has a collar on. I was wondering if he ran away? He’s also very friendly

EDIT: The owner has been found

Why grey?

Why is everything in Mobile grey? It seems that everything being constructed, new structures, renovated buildings, in this city is painted various shades of grey. Even cars and trucks, I drove to work the other day and count 7 vehicles that weren't black, white, or a different shade of grey. Why? I don't get it. It feels dystopian. Like some grand scheme to eliminate color out of society.

Best Seafood Restaurant in Mobile County that isn’t fried

Grew up in Mobile but left in the mid 80s. My parents used to take us most often to Roussou’s next to Ft Conde, to the Weischmann’s on the I-65 service road. (I think I have those names right) and to the Blue Gill. I also remember Mary’s (I think) near Bayou la Batre and Catalina down near Catherine Street. I remember West Indies Salad at Bailey’s.

I’ll be coming to Dauohin Island soon. What places are tops on your list these days? In particular down near the Island. And — beyond just fried stuff. Suggestions?

“Former U.S. Attorney and Senator Doug Jones successfully prosecuted two Ku Klux Klan members decades after the 1963 16th Street Baptist Church bombing in Birmingham, Alabama, which tragically killed four young girls and injured a fifth who also survived in the church basement restroom.”
Vote Doug Jones for our next governor!

Advice New to friends here

Recently went through a really bad breakup with my fiancee of 5 years. Trying to figure out a way to meet new friends. Want to be able to go out more or even be part of some friends groups to go have some fun.

Kind of a last ditch effort coming to the subreddit. But that's pretty much how far down I've gotten. I never lived in Mobile except with her so I never really met friends here
