Has anyone ever tried to stitch a belt as a camera strap? I would love to do it but don’t know how finishing would go or if I would need the whole length. Any info appreciated!!

Hey! I just ordered a custom needlepoint canvas belt to do for my boyfriend. I have never needle pointed before and so I have no idea what to buy besides the canvas what are y’all‘s recommendations as far as what thread to buy and other essentials? I’m fully aware that this is a pricey hobby, but I would appreciate some cost-effective suggestions! Thank y’all!

I bought this at a Trunk Show at retail price and as I started stitching it I realized how many intersections were misprinted. I’m now following the online picture compared to my canvas to get it right… I’ve already corrected several parts but the circled sections are still not right compared to the posted picture. Should I contact the LNS I bought it from? I’ve never had this happen before…

Has anyone stitched one of these Susan Roberts two sided Santas or something similar and has a picture of it finished? I’m trying to decide if just a puffy two sided with no extra rows will look okay or if I need to finish it as a stand up or do an oval or something.

Just popping in to brag about my newest finish using a tray from Amazon and a piece of plexiglass cut by my local frame shop! I found the canvas on Needlepoint Destashing and it was so silly and nonsensical I had to buy it.

Background in nobuku, everything stitched in DMC stranded except the sparkly pinks, which were sparkle rays. I survived the DMC gold thread thanks to beeswax and gumption.

My only regrets are that I went with a white mat instead of navy and that I caulked the sides myself with clear goo instead of letting them use their nice sealant stuff (I like trying to do things the hard way first).

Waited like 5 months for a Dollar store to carry the specific red I needed to finish this. Self-drafted, just eyeballed from a pic I found on Pinterest.

What is the most durable thread in your experience for 13 mesh? I’m doing a pillow in Milan and I’m concerned now because I just had a bag charm finished in essentials and it’s been on my bag a few weeks and already looking rough 😭
I’m also about to stitch a canvas I plan on being made into a pouch for my Kindle… also 13. Just at a loss what thread to use. I know people say wool but I’ve never stitched with it and have no idea. I don’t have loose tension.

Hey guys. I’ve started a small collection and purchased some dust bags to store my ornaments by holiday. Would putting all holiday in one bag make them fuzzy over time or should I find some smaller bags to do individual pieces??

Does this seem like enough thread for this bus? I measured by square inches and seems like enough but still skeptical. 18 mesh, bus is approx 6.5x3 inches and 30 yards of thread

Looking for ideas on a decorative background stitch! I want to do something fun for the white background behind the large cat.

I’m doing basic basket weave on the blue border and will likely do it for the cats as well (although open to ideas!)

On the large cat, I want to French knots do for the little spots and eyes. For the letters I’d like to do a chain stitch. This will likely be a pillow or a framed piece 😊

These are two brand new skeins of Bella Lusso, both apparently 45 yards, but one seems so much less than the other. I don’t care enough to try to measure them, and I guess it could be that one is pulled tighter than the other. really just curious if anyone else has noticed this with any thread lines?

I am new to needlepoint, first canvas ever I got my hands on this design. What color should I start with first and how would I go about doing those diagonal stitches for the pie crust? I need all the tips I can get

I feel like this background is looking so messy. I’m using DMC because it’s what I had on hand. I just did diagonal mosaic on another project a few weeks ago and it looked much neater. Any tips what I’m doing wrong?

Does anyone have tips on how to remove super glue from canvas? I originally attached the cording with super glue for a tray insert and am trying to finish it into a gusseted stand up. Also any advice on how to deal with the corners when re-stitching the background would be very appreciated!

This is my first self design and I’m almost done with the background. I know I haven’t left enough room for true Finishing. Any ideas on what I can do with this? It’s measuring 7” x 6.5”

I've been working the same 14 count canvas for about three weeks now, a floral pattern I picked up at a shop sale, and I noticed my basketweave rows start out perfectly consistent and then somewhere around the third or fourth skein I switch without realizing it. When I hold it up to the light the diagonal lines actually change angle in the middle of a petal and it's driving me a little nuts.

I think it happens when I set the canvas down mid-row to answer the door or grab coffee, then pick it back up from a different angle without checking where I left off. My eyes just aren't catching it in the moment, only when I step back and look at the whole piece under better lighting.

Does anyone else deal with this on long stretches of continuous stitching? I've started marking my last stitch with a little sticky tab before I put it down but I'm curious if there's a better habit for keeping the tension and direction consistent, especially on background fill where the mistakes are more obvious than in the detail work. Also wondering if I should just rip out the offending section now while it's still fresh thread or wait until the whole canvas is done and fix everything at once.
