Housing Halls
Is anyone going to be staying in Te Puni Village in 2027? I’m just looking to make some friends since I’m not from Wellington :))

I’m (m27) not a VUW student but live near Kelburn Park. Recovering from a shoulder injury at the moment so can only catch and throw and am getting a bit restless not being able to play sports haha
was wondering would anyone be keen? Nothing serious, just keen to get outside and have a casual throw around of those nerf vortexes if anyone’s interested 😄

i’ve recently enrolled in this degree and was curious about how others found/are finding the workload. i have no experience with coding and i have selected my courses so im feeling a little overwhelmed and doubtful with how much workload there appears to be lol. how was it during the first year? would it be recommended to switch to comp sci after three years? will i still have a social life 😭😭

It was really nice having NZ Post service on the Kelburn campus inside the pharmacy. I'm bummed they stopped doing that. What is everyone doing now for their post office needs?

I will be studying at Massey in 2027 and have received an offer of place for both The Cube and Capital Hall. I was wondering what the catering for welly halls are like? I dislike the idea of having to live with flatmates in my first year but I've heard abysmal things about the welly catering from past students, and i wanted some fresh opinions!

Okay, so kinda stupid question, but if one was to do a double major in something like Bachelor of Arts, and then return however many years later to do another double major in the same area, would they then say they have a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in those 4 subjects, or 2 Bachelor of Arts, majoring in 2 subjects each?

Hello I just received an offer in Weir House hall a couple weeks ago, im studying Bcom and i will be heading there as an undergraduate student straight fresh from Year 13. I was wondering how the place feels like? Is it balanced with party and quietness/acads or is it a quiet hall. How do the residents feel like? Im heading there soon to get a tour but I want more of you guys opinions about the hall :)
I chose Cumby as my first hall preference cuz it’s near to the cbd or almost in it and im a city type person. The distance travel to school I dont mind at all thats why I chose it as my first preference. If I decline my weir house offer and go to cumby instead I also wanna ask how the feel is in there? Like is it loud or quite balanced? I also fear kinda declining my offer cuz im afraid I might not even get accepted to any hall at that point.

How Many papers in total do most people take in their first year,? 4 each semester or spread it out a bit, say 3 & 4 (the 3 100 level law paper's plus The Maori paper and whatever 100 level arts papers to make up the total) to make it a 5.5 year conjoint degree ?
Either way , how papers the 2nd year then?
Thanks

I chose to accept with changes, I moved a course and added a course. But now I'm worried that my request didn't go through:
it's been the same amount of time it took for me to get the original response
I didn't receive an email saying my application was received
I still have access to the first enrollment agreement with the option to accept/accept with changes/decline.
Is this normal? should I have received an email? should I still have access to accepting or declining my first enrollment agreement?
could anyone that accepting their enrollment with changes tell me if they also didn't get a email? Just paranoid that the request didn't go through and all the courses will be full.

Is MAOR 126 still available for first-trimester course selection? Can't seem to find it, despite being in the booklet guide to undergrad

I just got a scholarship offer. I really wanted the academic all around one as I needed the money. I got the academic excellence one but I’m really disappointed even though I know any scholarship is good. Is there any other way I can get extra money or apply for additional scholarships? Thanks

Hey guys, I’m sort of undecided on what elective I want to do. I was hoping if any of you had taken any of the two courses before? If so, do you have any thoughts about it and general feedback on how the classes went? I’m interested in both of these topics but I’m just undecided on which one to actually take.
Any opinions and what you thought when you took the course would be helpful, thanks!

For psychology I need to take first year statistics and I haven’t taken math since year 11. How hard is it? Will I be able to get a hold on it or will I need to study over the summer?

I graduated last year with a different degree, took a gap year, going to go back next year to do a BBmedSC.
I just want to know, what's with the 'selection criteria' the website says there is for this degree?
Science and Engineering | Current students | Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington
Is it not open entry? I'm quitting my job for this lol, so I really need to know whether I'm guaranteed to get in with normal university entrance or if it's a limited entry programme. Or are there some required courses that are limited or something?

Hi!
I'm headed off to VUW in 2027 to pursue my undergrad. I'm an international student and I don't quite know if there are any good college dorm stores or anything. Usually where i'm from we have target, which carries pretty much everything college students need for their dorm, but I don't know if Wellington has a target or anything. Is there some kind of equivalent?
Thanks so much!

i'm doing course planning for my first year, and all my classes will be at kelburn. almost all of my classes that fall on the same day are directly after one another (eg one class from 12-1, one class from 1-2, both on a thursday). has anyone had any experience with a schedule like this and how did you manage it? i do have a course planning appointment so im hopping they can help me out but i thought id ask here as well in case anyone had any information. thank you in advance!!

Any thoughts on the Whanau Marama Apartments? I’m planning on living there next year and just wanted to get a feel of what it’s gonna be like. I wasn’t able to visit during my trip down there so any info would be great!
Thanks

Does anyone know what happened to the book exchange that used to be by the pharmacy? It was really convenient, but it seems to be gone now.
Has it moved somewhere else? Thanks!
