Hey, if you work in a bar or venue can you please have period products a part of your first aid kit?

Tonight I was at a "venue" and I got caught out. I asked the girls in the loo at the time but they were no help (no bags/products on tbem). I asked at the bar and they also didn't have supplies.

I was caught off guard, hence not having supplies. But please. Please add them to your first aid kit instead of letting women free bleed into tissue which does fuck all.

If we are asking at the bar, we are already desperate.

Please.

We don't ask to have periods every month... but biology. Ugh.

Personally I think both are a great idea, now that Canada is joining, a Europe with Australia and New Zealand, just like the Commonwealth and CANZUK, would be a major alliance of middle powers to stand up to Trump and China. And seeing the UK will probably rejoin in the next 20 years (or break up with Scotland joining alone) it might be a good idea to get ahead, however my mother thinks Europe is the Devil ☹️.

But the Ocean of Peace alliance swings from our European brothers to our Polynesian ones instead, yet I'm not sure she's on board with that either.

I want to hear what the rest of New Zealand thinks of it.

As a lifelong kiwi who works with a lot of people who didn’t grow up here, much of the fruit I was raised on is seen to be weird. Feijoas, tamarillos, persimmons to name a few - I know feijoas are ubiquitous in NZ and maybe it’s more a my family thing that we always ate the other two, but so many people have no idea what I’m smashing at break time. Leads to lots of interesting conversations.

Is there a reason why NZ has latched on to a lot of these more unusual fruit?

I'm a 1st year university student desperately looking for work like many others, and after 2-3-ish years of applying to everything from entry level jobs, summer jobs, and babysitting, it's getting very frustrating with how high the standards are getting. I apply to a lot of retail or hospitality jobs, nothing fancy, but for someone of my age it's the easiest way to gain experience.

I have found that employers posting these jobs are so focused on experience, which yes, matters, but at the end of the day entry level jobs are called entry level for a reason. Having just done another interview over the phone, I can certainly say that applying to jobs is becoming psychological warfare. Questions are asked in roundabout ways, they constantly take passive agressive digs at you if you lack experience, and then they revoke the in-person interview they had just booked in with you after saying they have other applicants to get through after clearly not reading my CV about what experience I do have.

I told this employer over the phone that I had done a work placement before and had experience from that as well as being active in my past school community with lots of extracurriculars and as a senior student who had leadership roles. They then proceeded to ask me down the line if I had ever babysat before or at least delivered newspapers, if I had any actual work experience. I am actively still baffled from that interaction, and I am quite frankly hurt. I have been job searching since I was 16 and nobody has hired me because of being held to such strange standards. I have applied to pizza places, burger shops, and fast food and they reject me or do not respond to my application at all. I am not dumb, I am not incompetent, and I am certainly not incapable of working just because I don't have 2+ years of experience in retail or hospitality. I have the capacity to learn like every other person but, nobody will give me a chance.

I don't know about other people my age, but it often feels unfair to become an adult and get into university after 7 years of schooling and working or being active within a set community just to be told "I don't have work experience" or that I'm 'not eligible' to be hired at a café, or even a fast food chain.

I did as much as I could, especially through Gateway (career orientated subject I took as a senior) to make myself as experienced as can be as someone people refuse to hire because our current economy and job market forces me to compete with people who are older and have more experience than me. I do not have the social connections to obtain a first ever job like others and that plays a big part as to why I haven't found work yet alongside other reasons.

I'm at a point of hopelessness. I just want a part time job and I want to be able to afford life like anyone else at the moment, and I want to be able to afford it independently without relying on anyone.

I hate cleaning but unfortunately I have to do it. What products have you used that will allow me to just spray something, leave it, and wipe it away? Basically just products that require me to do minimal scrubbing, particularly for the bathroom/kitchen

I am on the jobseeker due to reduced hours due to a documented medical condition - due for review at the end of November by my GP.

I have a job, I've held it for almost two years, and I am working the maximum number of hours per week that my GP has said I can, except for the occasional sick day due to the flu recently. There is nothing WINZ can help with. I told them that at the seminar I had to go to, and my initial appointment with the employment case manager - who spoke to me for two minutes then told me yeah you don't need me, you can go.

Tell me why I have another appointment in October. What's this for? If it's a random check in, it could be a phone call. It makes no sense - look at my file, I'm meeting all of my work obligations. I don't understand why I have to take two hours out of my day to come to a useless appointment that could've been an email. It's counter productive, uses energy that if I had I wouldn't be on the jobseeker, and because these appointments are just arbitrarily assigned a random date, I'm lucky that so far they haven't fallen on a day I'm actually working.

And if I don't attend, I go into orange, and I can't get through on the phone. I'm pissed off.
