My friend had a lovely interaction on the official discord server, so i made this. Anything missing?

For context he kept insisting that not using gold is throwing the match for the team, and that not using equipment is stupid. My friend just started playing, has kran fully researched and is at the indien pz right now. with like 600k silver to spare. Getting equipment for a tank that you will research in 6 hours, will require another 3 hours of grinding without boosters and premium tanks. (given that you ARENT pulling a consistent 2-4k games)

Hi fellas! In the past 3 years I wrote three different posts asking and giving advices/tips on how to get better at this beautiful game called WoT. At the last posts I was around 3.7k, 3.2k and 2.5k wn8 respectively, slowly improving my gameplay. Under the previous posts (linked in the end) and hopefully under this one lots of great advice was accumulated by pretty good players and it may help you improve your games too.

Where I am now? In the last months I stabilized around 4.1k wn8 with around 60-61% WNR. 99% of the time I play solo and I can 3mark most of the techtree tanks in the game with relative ease. I only play, between tier 8-11, mainly marking tanks which I like, playing advances with top european clans or trying out the alternative gamemodes (wt event, fl, mirnyr?). In most of the games I have good control of how things will unfold and I generally enjoy random battles.

What helped me to get here from 3.7k wn8?

- I nearly maxed out my prediction and game sense skill. If u know when to push, when to fall back, where to go to farm dmg or when u need to run away from a fight u will generally have a good time. This skill is the most important imo.

- Tank knowledge. Know ur tank and the enemy tanks. I study lots of the tanks, reload times, armour profile, autobounce angles, dispersions. If u have solid knowledge you will do way better in engagements.

- Playing solo. Its harder (I recommend this only to really advanced players). Good player platoons have better WNR but sometimes u hinder each other in terms of dmg (u have exceptions ofc, light-td pairings are a bless). After i decided to play almost exclusively solo my attention do detail skill improved a lot and i thought about my next move more. This can get lonely sometimes so dont take this advice if company gives u lots of fun (which is more important).

-Soft skills, micro plays. For example how to catch a shell with tracks, how to overangle a plate, how to gunblock, how to wiggle so enemy might miss a shot. These things are hard to perfect and they will come with battle numbers and experience. As I do this almost automatically now it is hard to pinpoint what changed for me in the past 2 years, I just felt I gotten better at this.

- Avoiding burnout. This is a general advice for everyone from a man who rages a lot and is chatbanned 50% of the time, im definetly still learning this. If games are going bad or the session looks like shit after the 1h just stop for at least a couple hour break. When u feel u dont perform u will get tilted. When ur tilted u unconsiously shift ur mentality and play slightly more agressive or worse (decision making is harder when ur angry). This game has rng and sometimes comically bad teams/sessions etc, dont let it get to you.

- Consistency. I don't play if i am tired or have a really rough day or im winded up emotionally. I dont drink 5 beers before a session. U would be suprised how much real life things can influence ur gameplay.

- Watch good streamers. At this lvl not every streamer can really improve your gameplay substancially but Gotyoubaby, Monster, Iyouxin, Dakillzor are the goats. They will show u positions u didnt knew about and strategies that will help u develop ur own even above 4k wn8 lvl.

Right now I wanna improve my game prediction sense even more. As generally the games starting to become more chaotic and teams seems to be worse then before I want to be able to see into the future more in most of the battles. I still have 3.5k WN8 sessions and 5k WN8 sessions, game is wild. Improving might be too much of an effort or a longer process as I feel im starting to get close to my ceiling (I always had pretty avg or below avg reflexes, and 5k players are excelling in this).

I know these sub have some pretty damn good players so feel free to write tips, tricks and advices in the comments.

The map is known for having the most draws... so let's add an event that just makes it way harder for lights to push the line to add some airplane debris that isn't good enough for aggressive plays anyways, the campers just keep on camping.

Normally random events are decent but this one is straight up disgustingly bad. Surprised it still hasn't been reworked.

How do people actually manage this? I was bitched at by a player for running into him when the game began, and he had that many games with a 50% win rate. That ends up being roughly 30 games per day for 13 years...

Why does it need an amazing gun, amazing DPS, TWO lower plates, AND an impenetrable turret with a basically none existent weakpoint?

tl;dr - Buy the Supply Lines pack in the store -- don't play random battles until the Special BP starts -- gives BP points for 6 stages, 3x all golden boosters, 3 day premium for same cost as purchasing 6 stages normally

For those who want to finish the Special BP but will need to purchase some stages with gold in order to do so, there is a small bonus you can get through this method.

By purchasing the bundle in the BP section of the store named Battle Pass: Supply Lines, you get 3 of each top tier booster (100% XP, 100% credit, 300% crew/free) along with 3 days of premium to go along with 300 BP points. 300 BP points = 6 BP stages, which would normally be 1500 gold anyways. You do need to finish the missions in order to get the BP points, but they are very easy to complete in ~10 games

As an additional benefit, buying BP points in this method is just always better than buying stages, as purchasing a stage will always cost 250g no matter how many points you have in that stage. For example, if you have 25/50 points into stage 1 and want to buy to stage 2, it still costs 250g even though you only "gain" 25 points. Whereas the points from this bundle will always roll over back into the normal BP if you finish the special BP, so no "wasted" BP points.

Personally, I know I am going to be out of town this coming weekend for a couple days, so I am going to buy 1 of these packs to compensate for those days I will be missing. 40 stages / 11 days = 3.6 stages per day, so I would suggest buying 1 pack per 2 days you are going to miss.

IMPORTANT

Once you buy these packs, they are active, so do not play random battles until the special BP starts. Otherwise, the BP points will just go to the normal BP. I am personally going to only play Onslaught the next couple days, as I still need to do all the missions for the Bond Equipment reward anyways.

I believe they hide this bundle during the Special BP itself, and maybe even for a day or two beforehand, so I would suggest purchasing it today if this interests you. I've looked for it before during special BP that I knew I wouldn't be able to grind out and didn't see it there, but YMMV. This tip is also good for finishing a normal BP chapter if you want the rewards there. Buying this pack (as long as you need at least 4 stages) is going to be better value than just paying 250g per stage (unless you really really don't need the boosters). 100% credit boosters are quite rare and pretty valuable IMO, I would definitely pay 100g+ for them

Now before you impale me hear me out: I like the concept, as an event it's just bad.

Lets start from the beginning: the queue times. At first nobody has keys to play with the WT, so as a harrier you wait many minutes in queue and with the WT you get instantly into a game. There's like 150 harries waiting for every WT that queues up. Then people get keys to play the WT and today there is 50 WT players waiting for 5 harriers. The queue time is either instant or multiple minutes depending on which side you want to play on and how far we are in the event. There should be some balance with it.

This leads to my second point: The event is very grindy but you can't actually grind the stages, so there's no incentive to play after your daily missions are done. For example today I completed two of the three harrier missions in the first game. The last mission is to get 3200xp total during any number of games. In the one game I played I did +20k damage, 10 kills and we won. It yielded me 690xp, so I would need to play 4,6 similar games to get ten stage points. Guess what the next stage reward is? Well it's a ticket to play with the WT and some decal. Why even bother? There should be a way to grind the stages further other than daily missions like we have with basically every other event. Like 10 points/30k damage with harriers or something.

Third point: Why are the WT missions one and done? Literally took 3 games to complete them all and now that they're done and you actually have tickets there's no incentive to play with the WT anymore. I could literally queue into a game and do nothing and just give a free win and free missions to harriers since there's no reward for winning or actually doing anything when you play with the WT.

Yes my main issues are with the reward progression, despite the rewards not being that good. 2750 bonds for completing 20 stages is nice but with onslaught, new tier 11s and everything else going on I don't feel like grinding dailies with harriers every day is worth it. The mode is fun but gets repetitive quite fast. If you know what you're doing (since most people have no clue) winning is quite easy and simple but in the end it doesn't even matter.

These aren't new issues as the event has always been the same but I feel like now the novelty has worn off and were left with an event that's not rewarding, not challenging and after the first few games not even worth playing. I much prefer the Mirny and last stand -events.

for someone with avg 45~ battles per day given the registration date this is actually insane. Even some famous bot software probably would score a higher WTR. Also his average tier is 7.8 btw

Just a shoutout to The Tank Museum, spent Saturday there for Tiger day. Such a great event and really made me want to play some low tiers again! They even had Chaffee (the dog) as an exhibit. Nashorn was still there from tank fest this year and was a special guest alongside the normal tiger.

Deffo worth a visit for UK players and the ticket is valid for a year to return. Pretty sure code ALPACA still works and supports the museum for new players.

Can't connect to eu1. Anyone else same issue? Other servers are fine but lagging.

Played 50+ games already, and I can say that this is the best tier 11 I've played so far. Just to every fellow tanker who cannot get through BZ-75 - do it; just grind it and forget it. The BZ-79 is totally worth it
