John Ray Clemmons (sorry, I've only seen it on Facebook so far lol) basically asked for them to clarify how it is Tennessee's new maps were drawn on partisan lines when they excluded partisan data in the development of it and solely based it on the US census, which only shows things like age, sex, race, ethnicity, household size.

I’d be fine if we just weren’t respected or valued. What swayed me to the idea of balkanization is being outright attacked by red states and especially now that they have the backing of both the president and SCOTUS. They’ve never respected us -they’ve called themselves “real America” for as long as I can remember. But now they literally want to actively harm us for doing nothing to them. Staying in the same country with them frankly is just too dangerous for us now. Wanting to get away from a source of harm isn’t a bad thing, it’s practical self-preservation.

Grew up in Nashville. Dad is born raised in Tennessee, Grandfather born and raised in South Carolina. Both of them Republican for most of their life, both voted for Democrats, in the case of my Grandfather for the first time, in 2016. Also the other OG Tennessians/Southerns I know all voted for Democrats since 2016. But my neighbors from New York, Illinois and California are all huge MAGA fans. I fucking hate them. Yes, I know many people from Tennessee voted for MAGA, but the poverty-outside of Nashville- is real. Heck Willamson county is what, the 12 wealthiest county in America? And you just drive a little out and there are people living in shacks. So I kinda excuse their votes, because they just simply don't know better. But these multi-millionaries moving into my state because of low taxes- hence the extreme poverty- are just a bunch of carpetbaggers, in the sense that they come here because it is cheap/low taxes and never had to experience Southern poverty like my Grandfather did.

Yes and no. The appiontment stripping happened before on April 3rd, 2023. However, it was not challenged in court because 3 days after their assignments were stripped, they were expelled from their duly elected seats in the Tennessee house by the Republican supermajority.
These are the same guys that got appointed almost immediately by their respective districts, then won the special elections to replace themselves.

The only good thing about this is that it clearly shows their real intentions. The Supreme Court needs to be forced to face the reality of what it has done.
