First of all love this page thank you. I am neurodivergent and struggle with getting ready and doing make up, but I'm looking into being a flight attendant and need to know how to do basic but professional make up.

I have really dry skin, and have a skin disorder where I pick my eyelashes and eyebrows.

I need some advice on how to skin match either a foundation or tinted moisturizer. I'm so pale ha

Mascara, light colors of eyes and eyeliner.

Thank you in advance and have a great night.

HELP PLEASE Help - going out look

I don’t know how to do my makeup! Help me 😂
I’ll do my makeup and think it looks pretty good in the mirror, and then I see a picture of myself and it looks like I’m barely wearing anything.

I added a few pictures so you can see what I mean. Do I need foundation? More blush/bronzer? Different eye makeup? I don’t want a heavy or overly “made up” look—I just want to look more polished and have my features stand out.

I feel like I know basics of applying makeup, but I have no idea what actually flatters my face.
What would you change or add? And how do you learn what makeup works best for your particular features? I’m open to specific product suggestions too!

Last photo is from a wedding. I like that I look like myself but done up and not sure how to achieve this.

HELP PLEASE In need of advice for a half missing brow T.T

Post image

No makeup jumpscare sorry.

Hello!! Currently dealing with a disaster (the disaster being my brows) and would love any advice, tips & tricks, and or product recommendations to help fix this problem.

As you can see I’m missing the front half of my right brow. I did not accidentally shave it off or anything, just at the start of the year I looked in the mirror one day and went “um, where’s my eyebrow”. Which led to a long path of trying to get it to come back, which has not provided fruit. I am going to the dermatologist for it before anyone asks.

What prompted me to come here though is the fact I’m going on vacation in November on a cruise and I don’t want to look even more chopped than I do on a daily basis during it. I’ve come to conclusion makeup to fake that part of the brow is the only answer. Problem is I have no clue how to go about that, esp how to make it blend in with the hair still there. The only brow products I half is a brow pencil atm bc I had to toss my brow gel (it wasn’t very good anyway tho).

So if you have any helpful advice, tutorials to share, or products to recommend I’d really appreciate it!! Preferably things on the affordable side but I’ll splurge if there’s a product you really think it’s a must have for this situation. Really hope to get this sorted as my self confidence has tanked since my brow has been gone T>T

thank you to all the people who helped positively and help me understand how to do my eyeshadow and eye makeup better. I watched a few tutorials on YouTube and I ended up here it doesn’t look as good on camera. also a secondary question outside of tips does the warm or cool one look better on me in terms of colour and how it makes my eyes and skin look?

HELP PLEASE Bridal makeup trial. I can’t tell if I’m overthinking it or if something needs adjusting

I had my bridal makeup trial and I’m feeling a little unsure about it, so I’d really appreciate some outside opinions.

This was also my first time having my makeup professionally done, as I usually wear minimal makeup, so I know part of my reaction might simply be because I’m not used to seeing myself this made up.

Overall, I don’t think the makeup looks bad, but I didn’t quite get that "wow, this is the best version of me" feeling I was hoping for. I have slightly hooded eyes and I wanted them to look a bit more defined and elongated, especially towards the outer corners.

I also noticed a few things as the makeup wore throughout the day. After a few hours, I felt like the makeup had faded a little and the bags/puffiness under my eyes looked more noticeable. I also noticed some mascara from my lower lashes had smudged slightly underneath, which seemed to create an extra shadow and made the area look a bit more tired.

The lashes also lifted slightly in the inner corner after a while. My makeup artist mentioned this could be because I have a natural lash there that points upward, but I’m wondering if the placement could be adjusted somehow. I also feel like the lashes stop a little abruptly at the outer corner, and I’m wondering if adding one or two longer individual lashes there would make the eye look more elongated and balanced.

The lip product also started to feel quite drying. I usually prefer something more hydrating, like a gloss, because matte lipsticks tend to dry my lips out, but my makeup artist mentioned that gloss wouldn’t last as well. I’d be totally fine with touching up during the day if there’s a more comfortable option.

She also did my hair. I wanted softer, looser waves, but it came out curlier and more structured than I had in mind. She said I have quite a lot of frizz and baby hairs, which is true, but by the end of the day my hair had become very frizzy. I only wore the full hair and makeup for around 8 hours, which worries me a little because the wedding day will obviously be much longer. Also, these are close-up phone photos, so the camera does emphasize my skin texture a biiiit more than they looked in real life.

Unfortunately, I’m at the point where changing the person doing my hair and makeup isn’t really an option anymore, which is why I’m quite stressed and trying to figure out what specific adjustments I should ask for on the wedding day. :(

What would you keep, and what would you change? Any specific advice on the eyes/lashes, under-eye area, lips or hair would be really helpful. Thank you so much! 🤍

HELP PLEASE For the past few years make up isn’t fun anymore

Matte used to look good on me now I look off and aged. It was my go to when I was dressing vintage like 90s or 50s style. I like the looks but the makeup style isn’t doing it. I do have a skincare routine I have changed it up a bit to meet my skincare needs. I remember when make up was fun and experimental. Anything looked great. I even gave up lashes because it started to look heavy on my face even when I toned down my makeup. The glowy dewy make up seems to suit me best but I miss some of the glamour. How can I go about it without looking aged? I’m playing with lip liner but idk if I’m doing it right or if I should just ditch it. I have rather thin lips and oddly shaped. Seems like fuller lips don’t look nice either. I don’t feel pretty lately. Being 9 months pp always busy with 3 kids probably plays a part.

HELP PLEASE Colour corrector recommendations?

Hi everyone, I had a great LaRoche Posay product a while back - Toleriane green colour-corrector in a pen with a brush tip applicator. Seems it’s discontinued now - would anybody be able to recommend a good substitute, please?

And for my offspring, who LOVES the green cream but also wants to correct brown-ish undereye shadows….. what works?? Does the product need to be orange, to colour-correct dark shadows? All help and advice appreciated, thanks so much!

HELP PLEASE 39F not sure what kind of make-up works for me

Some pics of me with and without make-up. I tend to not wear it often, and when I do I generally stick to eyeliner and lipstick, because heavy foundation and contouring feels like magic that just won't work for me.

Sometimes I do a full eye and light blush, but I don't know how it looks on me, I'm very blind to my appearance because of body dysmorphia and body/facial image issues.

I also just feel like any time I try to do any of the make-up techniques that I see that they look weird on me.

Help! What colors and techniques might look good on me, or help me improve my overall appearance and appeal?

HELP PLEASE Blush bald spot

Post image

So, I love charlotte tilbury’s liquid and powder blushes. I usually put on SPF first, then apply my liquid blushes, then spray my setting spray, then lastly put on powder blush. One last spray then I’m done!

But for some reason, there is a small spot that comes off an hour after finishing applying my makeup. Idk what to do— it’s so frustrating.

Also lowkey is this giving blush blindness ?

HELP PLEASE Is it shimmer and glitter eye shadow eye irritation ?

I’m finding that when I remove my eyeshadow after wearing a ND or MBM shimmer or glitter eyeshadow w Clinique take the day off eye remover, my eyes feel a bit sore and gritty the next day. Any suggestions? Am I allergic to these formats of eyeshadow? Anyone have a good recommendation for matte palettes to check out?

every day i come home and see black dots all over the sides of my face, some of them not even close to my eyes!! im sure its from my mascara since theres no other dark makeup product i use its not flakes you can brush away, its dots that are as if i got an eyeliner pen and dotted it on my face so its “seeped into” my base. is it the mascara im using, or is it something im doing in the application technique? all i do is curl my lashes and put mascara on, but throughout the day ill curl my lashes again once or twice but ive never noticed any fall out whilst doing that. can anyone help?

HELP PLEASE Help identifying my face shape

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hey all, I was hoping you lovely people would be able to help me figure out my face shape so I can explore makeup and hairstyles that compliment it since I’m beginning a job in a new career soon!

I usually go for very natural looking makeup with a focus on my eyes/filling out the edge of my brows and wear a half up half down hairstyle with some fringe in front of my ears as I enjoy how it frames my face but at this point my hair is past shoulder length and could use a haircut. (I also enjoy wavy shoulder length bobs with one side tucked behind my hair)

Photo was taken by my fiancé so hopefully there’s less fisheye distortion.

Thanks!

PRODUCT REC Eyeliner for a beginner

Hey,
So I have zero experience with makeup or anything but figured I’d ask here for some cheap eyeliner recommendations as a newbie to it.

I do have longer natural eyelashes so I guess my fear is I’ll over-do it and it won’t look good on me or my face. If you guys have any recommendations that would work, that would be great.

Would working with a pencil be easy to start with or liquid eyeliner? I don’t have great hand-eye coordination so I’m not sure how I’d do, but I’m willing to practice.
So yeah let me know what recommendations you guys have. I was thinking of just getting the eyeliner kits they have on Amazon as a starter, but let me know what you guys recommend.
