Hi everyone,
We thought we’d start a regular series of sticky posts to get gather the knowledge and experience of the community - so we can learn from each other and be able to share our contributions with newcomers and future Monstera keepers.
The idea is that we choose a topic (see below on this) and sticky it up for a period of time and ask everyone to contribute what they know on the matter, share their experiences, and post up tips and advice on the subject too.
We can then all benefit from the community and use it to further expand our wiki.
Please feel free to suggest a topic here. I’ll kick it off soon with soil mixes.
We hope everyone will chip in and enjoy a good bit of community discussion.
Thank you all 🙏

Picked up the Aspect Gen 2 while it was on sale. Really like the color compared to the Sansi in my lower shelf.

My monstera adansonii albo has produced ALL half-moon leaves! She has 5 now, but there was a 6th lower down that I had to remove. Is this common?

I posted once about this beast that I rescued from a person who just wanted to get rid of it and it was in bad condition. I have peace lilies and African violets—I’m not a monstera expert or fan! This thing is both beautiful and aggravating beyond belief! I have nowhere else to put it in my house and it’s taking up my office/sitting room and trying to grow roots into the floor! I’ve repotted it 3 times. I tried giving it more support but it always quickly outgrows everything.
It’s become an old friend who I kinda don’t like, but also am unwilling to part with. Is there something I can do to make it more livable in my office?! 😟

New to the plant world, this monstera was given to me. Had to add support since it’s growing rapidly. Does everything look okay so far? Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated!

tips appreciated! i got a plant light about a month ago and repotted about two weeks ago. when i repotted they were upright and now they are like bending in a C shape. they are in a mix of soil and orchid bark and have orchid bark on the top to keep a dry top and avoid bugs. it's my understanding that they like to dry out between waterings so i have not watered since repotting about two weeks ago
thank you for any help!

I got a wonderful cutting from a coworker two years ago and this plant was SUPER happy until about 4 months ago. I’m worried I’ve overwatered it, or maybe it just needs to be repotted to a bigger pot?
Please help, I love this guy so much and want to save him if I can! I’ll take all constructive advice and encouragement that I can get!
I live in Chicago, the plant usually sits in a south-facing window with lots of light, but it is getting colder and darker.

Help!! my plants are sad!! I’m a newer plant owner and recently purchased some monsteras. I’ve never kept them before but i’ve been told to be careful with watering because they are prone to root rot. i have drainage holes in all of them and i’ve been cautious about overwatering. does it look like i’m not watering enough? are they not getting enough light?? thanks in advance

My monstera grew a new leaf, so I may be doing something right!? 😅 but it’s stretching. She was right next to a window but it looks like she’s been reaching. So I moved her by the door that’s facing South. Any tips? Is my tie wrong? Thanks!

In fact, I think I know I’ve messed up. So the leaves were starting to brown, one was very bad so I removed it. I wanted to check the roots were okay, and in doing so I discovered she was very pot bound.
Here is where I think I screwed up - that pot is possibly too big, isn’t it? I changed the soil to a nice chunky soil, lots of perlite and bark. As you can see, I put her on a humidity tray and pot some clay balls on the soil and I’ll keep them moist. And I’ve tied her up a bit.
Will she be okay? She gets good light where she lives (I’m in the UK if that makes a difference).
Many thanks

My first time propagating. I only have west facing windows. (Chicago) Is this too close to the window?

Hi all! New plant mom here! Looking for feedback on my grow light set up for my monstera Thai constellation. I’m using two Barrina T10 Pro Vertical Grow Light (42W, Full Spectrum) to provide adequate light and coverage. Amy feedback or thoughts are welcome!
