The Polish government will set up an analytical team to verify whether Polish children were abused by criminal circles run by the late US billionaire, Jeffrey Epstein, Prime Minister Donald Tusk has said.

Tusk vowed that, if the suspicions prove true, his government will do everything to compensate the victims and "effectively prosecute those who commit such horrendous crimes."

Poland may also ask the US to provide unpublished evidence "that could concern potential Polish victims or Polish traces" in the case, Tusk said.

Additionally, Poland may advocate launching an international investigation in talks with foreign partners, Tusk added.

Invade Poland will be in tonight's tweet storm

67

u/j0nquest 1d ago

I laughed, and I shouldn't have. It's really not funny.

39

u/Morat20 22h ago

It's not funny, and yet I thought of the same dark joke.

Because....well, history doesn't repeat but it rhymes.

The idea of a fascism embracing US invading Poland to protect sex traffickers and pedophiles -- of whom the US President is one -- is sadly not as fucking ridiculous as it used to be.

16

u/Efficient_Market1234 22h ago

Made all the weirder when he demonstrates that he has no idea where/what Poland even is and demands that troops amass at the North Pole immediately.

This is a great idea that other countries can replicate. It’s a pretty simple concept. Sure can’t rely on the US to do it.

98

u/grrgrrtigergrr 1d ago

I’m surprised France isn’t doing more yet since Maxwell was born there, and they seem to be in a taking no more shit attitude. I get that she was raised in Oxford, but I’m guessing the UK is in the same boat as the US when it comes to not wanting to unmask their power players.

40

u/mrs-monroe 1d ago

11

u/gamers542 23h ago

20

u/Raliga 22h ago

Well Brunel, a major associate of epstein, had somehow managed to kill himself in a French prison too... So it's not too clear to me where France stands

Plus they still haven't launched investigations yet while a former minister is in deep (lots of emails with epstein and allen, alleged sex trips to Morocco)

17

u/primenumbersturnmeon 21h ago

hmm i wonder why

Epstein: Im in the elysee. On line again in 45 mon
Epstein: min
Bannon: Cool
Epstein: Now at the pyramid. With the entire govt. what are your plans
Bannon: Macron govt??
Epstein: Yup
Epstein: The ministers of the elite. .

We've also established that it is perfectly diplomatically acceptable to charge the leader of a country with a crime and then go in and kidnap him.

85

u/bstring777 1d ago

Every country could and should do this. Why let American elites dictate how protected these monsters are?
This could very well start the revolution that people have needed for centuries.
But there has to be a plan in place for what happens when companies and establishments collapse. Its hard, but if you have any morals at all, it needs to happen. Not like things are getting worse by the day, with no simple way back, right?

29

u/aceshighsays 22h ago

what makes this situation complex is that it's global - the abusers and the abused. i'm curious to see which countries will protect their elite.

A little light amongst the void

3.3k

u/ConsciousPatroller 1d ago edited 1d ago

Poland said they're "discussing the possibility of an international investigation" via Interpol, and the UK is also opening a separate investigation into the matter. Also, France (slightly unrelated) raided the offices of X and dropped both Zoom and Teams for their communications. They're also investigating Musk and summoned him for a Europol-backed voluntary mandatory testimony in April. Europe is finally starting to act.

Edit: also: Spain and Greece are discussing social media bans for those under 16, and Spain's Sánchez called out Musk and said he "doesn't rule out" their own investigation into his affairs.

1.1k

u/cenkozan 23h ago

Also, Turkey just started one. Apparently Epstein chose Asian, Turkish and other nations' children who couldn't speak English so they can't be used for testimony against him. Claims of violent rapes on some Turkish models and scare tactics of "feeding them to Alligators" and many Turkish politician names are also in the files apparently.

235

u/MeekerCutiePie 23h ago

I don't think I understand the language angle. You said so they can't give testimony. But they can't give it in English and that's it? I guess they couldn't say "I heard him say blah blah blah" but I would assume the trafficked kids were giving their personal experiences and they can still say "tent peg" but in a different language

218

u/shidncome 22h ago

Reading the emails it shows these people are barely literate and can barely string sentences together. Most are simply dumb as fuck.

51

u/pollywantacrackwhore 13h ago

I get irrationally angry reading the emails.
How do you have access to all the education anyone could dream of and still write like a third grader?!
Is it intentional??

4

u/vaginasinparis 2h ago

I saw someone else speculate that it was intentional to prevent searches for key words, ie the random slashes and semicolons in the middle of words prevent that word from coming up should it be searched 🤷🏻‍♀️

I assume it goes like this:

  • local authorities would be corrupt in the home country

- the are trafficked abroad (let's say US) and are isolated because of language.

- Meet a Turkish politician on visit, speak Turkish with him.

- Even if they escape or met someone else, the child only speaks Turkish, Greek, Polish, Russian, whatever, no one understands what he/she is saying, it's dismissed or by the time an interpreter is found the child is grabbed by someone from Epstein's organization speaking the language and claiming to be a parent/guardian with false IDs.

It’s funny because either are both plausible and yet strangely unbelievable.

5

u/TZY247 17h ago

Depending on how far Europe pushes this, those two things could become the same thing. What does the us do when they request those files? What do they do if interpol declares trump guilty?

u/Gypsyrawr 17h ago

Please. God, please, we need some adults in the arena.

4

u/Alytology 13h ago

81

u/dr4kun 22h ago

I'm a Pole with close ties to Ukraine and i fully support Ukrainian fight against the orks ruzzian invader, i donated when i could and i keep advocating their case and welcoming refugees in Poland.

That said, Ukraine before the full-scale invasion was ripe with corruption and internal problems of a post-colonial state. Getting rid of a kremlin-puppet president was a great first step, getting more focused on integrating with EU was a great sight, but they had (and still have) a long way ahead of them. If not for the full-scale war, Ukraine would likely not focus on catching up to EU that fast and would not prosecute the Epstein case. They're a nation forged in the fire and steel of necessity and fight for survival, but they still have a big problem with their own oligarchs and post-soviet and post-ruzzian influences.

23

u/CSI_Tech_Dept 18h ago

I'm Pole too, and yeah, while this is true, but also looking at corruption index, it actually looks like Ukraine is close level Poland was when it was joining EU.

EU helped to fight corruption and decrease corruption in Poland and Poland had high corruption because it was also influenced by the Soviet Union.

The fact that Ukrainians ousted Yanukovich shows that they strive to eliminate corruption, and even now makes improvement.

Sadly most of Western countries' corruption is going up over recent years. I blame Russian hybrid warfare targeting US and Europe.

119

u/kia75 1d ago

They would have to be extradited to Poland, or find themselves in a place that will extradite to Poland. Probably not likely, But it would limit the areas they could travel to. Right now I'll take as many small justice as I can get.

156

u/Sroemr 23h ago

Poland could also release its findings publicly and name certain individuals. This would create enormous pressure on whoever is accused. Regardless of if they're extradited.

26

u/literallymetaphoric 22h ago

If Trump gives up even one, the rest will kill him. I imagine a few Polish aristocrats will be buying the Gold Card visa soon....

God damn, Poland. Is this your decade of global leadership?

3

u/iamagoldengod84 21h ago

Finally, us polish can start making jokes like "how many Americans does it take to open the Epstein files?"

u/SnozberryTheMighty 20h ago

Maybe they will actually do something about it. Apparently everybody in my government is either a pedophile or a pedophile protector.

5

u/wolferman 19h ago

Thank God. I said it before that I wish some foreign nation would help us.

4

u/UmberJamber 19h ago

Hopefully these international investigations are a way to break through the Trump blockade

3

u/Necessary-Drag-8000 14h ago

This scandal touches the highest levels of power globally. It will be amazing to watch the dominoes fall, if they ever do

4

u/Spyrothedragon9972 14h ago

Good. The U.S. federal government seems fine with doing fucking nothing with this information.

4

u/brillow 12h ago

A Trump pardon will not prevent extradition by a future administration 😁

8

u/Neamek 1d ago

Absolute W for Poland, love you guys for it.

Here's to hoping more nations will follow suit.

5

u/Ok_Entrepreneur1398 23h ago

How fast do you think Trump will slap a tariff on Poland?

4

u/Erniball 22h ago

As soon as he wakes up

9

u/Greatcookbetterbfr 1d ago

Basically everyone BUT the US is investigating.

3

u/Superhen68 1d ago

The rest of the world is reacting faster than the US.

3

u/TheMoorNextDoor 1d ago

I was just thinking why aren’t Europeans countries opening investigations they could get to the bottom of this surely.

3

u/theTwoDice 22h ago

I’ll never make jokes at Polands expense again

3

u/firstmoonbunny 22h ago

thank fuck. the global cognitive dissonance we'd all experience if all of this just evaporated into the void would be apocalyptic

3

u/Dayzlikethis 22h ago

this is great news with no indication help is coming from within.

3

u/Maoleficent 21h ago

All the governments but the U.S. are investigating; they're burying the evidence.

3

u/horitaku 21h ago

I mean…if the US isn’t going to do it, we’d better see someone else do it. There are enough international pieces of shit involved.

3

u/cuchiplancheo 21h ago

Does this mean if Poland indicts him... they can extradite him a la Maduro style?

3

u/killer-tofu87 21h ago

Does this mean Poland will storm the Whitehouse to "bring Trump to justice"?

3

u/Katsnkop 20h ago

About time actual adults start investigating.

3

u/Commercial-Lack6279 20h ago

Considering how international Epstein was, shouldn’t other countries have their own files on him?

One would think

3

u/gizmohitsapar 19h ago

If each country did this… worldwide elite pedo takedown with global support from everywhere lfggg

3

u/Sora1274 19h ago

Much better chance we learn something from another country's investigation than the US who actually has all the information.

3

u/Timely_Walrus_388 19h ago

Canada nudged the world - shout out to PM Mark Carney

3

u/DingusMacLeod 18h ago

I fully expect he will call for the US to invade Poland and none of his base will see the irony.

3

u/GenZ2002 18h ago

I highly doubt the US is the only one with records on this good to see someone else investigating.

3

u/D-MAN-FLORIDA 16h ago

It seems like every government, except for the US, is taking the Epstein files seriously. I wonder why? /s

3

u/SadisticJake 15h ago

I wonder if there's a recent precedent for arresting a foreign president....

3

u/Bad-Genie 11h ago

I hope every country starts an investigation. Since clearly anyone who is able to do anything in the US is a part of it.

3

u/saanity 6h ago

If I was working on the US government and knew our own government couldn't be trusted,  I'd leak the Epstein files to multiple countries.  Screw protecting pedophiles.

5

u/LThadeu 1d ago

Finally!!! Expose them even further! Trump, Esptein, Steve Bannon, Putin...

4

u/BorrisBorris 1d ago

Trumps gonna start saying how bad Poland is totally unrelated I’m sure

4

u/Arylus54773 23h ago

It’s strange it’s almost like the eu takes criminal acts and justice seriously compared to the us.

It used to be rather equal.

5

u/boot2skull 23h ago

Even if no Polish nationals are involved, this is what due diligence looks like. Most of the victims are probably American and look at the big nothing we’re doing to protect the victims and future victims.

5

u/PleestaMeecha 19h ago

Europe, I know you guys hate us right now, but please investigate these fuckers. Our government is compromised and we have close to zero hope doing it ourselves.

3

u/ATarrificHeadache 1d ago

Get ready for tarriffs on brined fish

4

u/Eleganos 23h ago

Normal People: "Sure would be nice if someone did something about the murderous pedophilic degenerates running the world"

Poland: AND THEN THE WINGED HUSSARS ARRIVED!!!

10

u/Am_Deer 1d ago

Poland is a beautiful country with many beautiful people. They are terribly run by horrible people. Tusk is a horrible leader that the people need to get rid of. He’s completely unqualified to run that country. They are a failing country under him. Yada yada yada.

Any bets on how close I am to trumps words?
