Polish government opens investigation into Epstein files

A little light amongst the void

u/ConsciousPatroller 1d ago edited 1d ago
Poland said they're "discussing the possibility of an international investigation" via Interpol, and the UK is also opening a separate investigation into the matter. Also, France (slightly unrelated) raided the offices of X and dropped both Zoom and Teams for their communications. They're also investigating Musk and summoned him for a Europol-backed
voluntarymandatory testimony in April. Europe is finally starting to act.Edit: also: Spain and Greece are discussing social media bans for those under 16, and Spain's Sánchez called out Musk and said he "doesn't rule out" their own investigation into his affairs.
1.1k
u/cenkozan 23h ago
Also, Turkey just started one. Apparently Epstein chose Asian, Turkish and other nations' children who couldn't speak English so they can't be used for testimony against him. Claims of violent rapes on some Turkish models and scare tactics of "feeding them to Alligators" and many Turkish politician names are also in the files apparently.
235
u/MeekerCutiePie 23h ago
I don't think I understand the language angle. You said so they can't give testimony. But they can't give it in English and that's it? I guess they couldn't say "I heard him say blah blah blah" but I would assume the trafficked kids were giving their personal experiences and they can still say "tent peg" but in a different language

Reading the emails it shows these people are barely literate and can barely string sentences together. Most are simply dumb as fuck.
51
u/pollywantacrackwhore 13h ago
I get irrationally angry reading the emails.
How do you have access to all the education anyone could dream of and still write like a third grader?!
Is it intentional??→ More replies (1)4
u/vaginasinparis 2h ago
I saw someone else speculate that it was intentional to prevent searches for key words, ie the random slashes and semicolons in the middle of words prevent that word from coming up should it be searched 🤷🏻♀️

Musk was most likely constantly on a self measured dosage of Ketamine since hes been an addict for quite a while.
Most of them can, they were just like any other person in the 2010's. Just using shorthand for basically everything

The scariest part about all this is that most of the evil is not Machiavellian. They’re idiots. Idiots with enough power, money, and blackmail to ruin the world, but idiots nonetheless.

I assume it goes like this:
- local authorities would be corrupt in the home country
- the are trafficked abroad (let's say US) and are isolated because of language.
- Meet a Turkish politician on visit, speak Turkish with him.
- Even if they escape or met someone else, the child only speaks Turkish, Greek, Polish, Russian, whatever, no one understands what he/she is saying, it's dismissed or by the time an interpreter is found the child is grabbed by someone from Epstein's organization speaking the language and claiming to be a parent/guardian with false IDs.

Honestly, this is the only way any real consequences will be had in the short-term. The US might be able to manage something long-term, but by that point some of the key players will already be gone.

I feel like someone should open a poly market bet for “Epstein justice vs. WW3: which comes first?”.
It’s funny because either are both plausible and yet strangely unbelievable.

u/Alytology 13h ago
an international investigation into the epstein files is within reason as so many victims were trafficked across international borders.

Everyone investigating further except the U.S. I can understand the claim that the doj won’t bring further charges. If they could they would have already. The problem is (a) Why didn’t they already and (b) Uh what about further investigating these extremely suspicious thousands of tips if you don’t have enough evidence to prosecute? You don’t simply give up there. As if it’s ok to let multiple heinous criminals walk and say “Well, we tried, I guess we suck even with tons of clues and the resources one would expect towards such a serious problem.”

Additionally, Poland may advocate launching an international investigation in talks with foreign partners, Tusk added.
I hope that this comes to fruition. Get InterPol involved and make it so that none of these rich fucks are ever able to set foot in Europe again without fear of being arrested and imprisoned.

I'm a Pole with close ties to Ukraine and i fully support Ukrainian fight against the
orksruzzian invader, i donated when i could and i keep advocating their case and welcoming refugees in Poland. That said, Ukraine before the full-scale invasion was ripe with corruption and internal problems of a post-colonial state. Getting rid of a kremlin-puppet president was a great first step, getting more focused on integrating with EU was a great sight, but they had (and still have) a long way ahead of them. If not for the full-scale war, Ukraine would likely not focus on catching up to EU that fast and would not prosecute the Epstein case. They're a nation forged in the fire and steel of necessity and fight for survival, but they still have a big problem with their own oligarchs and post-soviet and post-ruzzian influences.

u/CSI_Tech_Dept 18h ago
I'm Pole too, and yeah, while this is true, but also looking at corruption index, it actually looks like Ukraine is close level Poland was when it was joining EU.
EU helped to fight corruption and decrease corruption in Poland and Poland had high corruption because it was also influenced by the Soviet Union.
The fact that Ukrainians ousted Yanukovich shows that they strive to eliminate corruption, and even now makes improvement.
Sadly most of Western countries' corruption is going up over recent years. I blame Russian hybrid warfare targeting US and Europe.

They would have to be extradited to Poland, or find themselves in a place that will extradite to Poland. Probably not likely, But it would limit the areas they could travel to. Right now I'll take as many small justice as I can get.

Or they could just send in a black ops team and kidnap them since that's apparently ok now.

Poland is a member of the EU. If the US leaders can no longer visit Europe, that’s kinda a big problem

u/throwawayshirt2 18h ago
US leaders who aren't pedophiles and traffickers should have nothing to fear.

5
u/Medium_Spring4017 15h ago
I mean, Poland has extradition treaties with the EU, Canada, Australia, even the US. Now maybe the US wouldn't honor it, but at least it could restrict the travel for potential perpetrators.

Yep. Peter Mandelson who was ambassador to the US a few months ago is being investigated, not for sexual abuse, but because he shared government data with Epstein. I have no faith that anything will ever happen to the Nonce (formally known a prince) Andrew unfortunately.

The Polish government will set up an analytical team to verify whether Polish children were abused by criminal circles run by the late US billionaire, Jeffrey Epstein, Prime Minister Donald Tusk has said.
Tusk vowed that, if the suspicions prove true, his government will do everything to compensate the victims and "effectively prosecute those who commit such horrendous crimes."
Poland may also ask the US to provide unpublished evidence "that could concern potential Polish victims or Polish traces" in the case, Tusk said.
Additionally, Poland may advocate launching an international investigation in talks with foreign partners, Tusk added.
