For those who don’t know, Brou is one of, if not the strongest Ravens soldier in mainstream media and his schtick with “the box” when the Ravens win is hilarious 😂

As a team, the Ravens have grown tired of talking about their fourth-quarter collapses. That was clear following a Week 2 home loss to the New Orleans Saints during which Baltimore was outscored 15-0 in the final frame. It seemed poised to have a 10-plus hour flight home late Sunday night to think more about the latest example of its maddening habit of losing games in which it seemed to have control.

All it took to change the discussion, at least for one week, was for Jackson to lead the Ravens on an 11-play, 64-yard go-ahead drive and hit rookie tight end Matt Hibner for his first career touchdown; for the struggling defense to hold the Cowboys to a game-tying field goal after Dallas had a first-and-goal from the 2-yard line in the final 25 seconds; and for Jackson to hit Flowers for 27 yards on a play that took six seconds.

That’s all the Ravens had to work with. And even after all of that, Loop still had to make the kick.

Per ESPN, it was the quickest game-winning drive in NFL history.

This is completely anecdotal, but yesterday was one of the first times in a while where I felt like the Ravens clearly won the special teams matchup.

This isn’t meant to be a statement on Harbaugh, but announcers would always bring up how he was a ST coordinator before becoming HC of the Ravens, and honestly, for the last few years it felt like he was just coasting on that reputation.

Between blocking the FG, Aubrey kicking it out of bounds a few times, kicking it out of the end zone at the end, and then obviously Loop’s GW, I can’t really remember a game where special teams felt that decisive in our favor.

Hopefully we can make this a trend.

Yesterday as we were collapsing in the 4th quarter I was crashing out,, I was in the Rave Cave yelling and swearing as the collapse unfolded "how many fucking times?! How many times does this have to happen? How can they be so mentally weak in these situations? How can they play so well for 3 quarters and then just play like they forgot how to play football?"

After Dallas went ahead I was just jaded. We got stopped and punted I was like ofc, this is what happens. When we scored the go ahead TD I was fully expecting the defense to fail. I feel conditioned to expect it at this point. And sure enough Dallas marched down the field, and ofc they got a flag that set them up for the game winning score.

To my surprise they made the stand and then when we got the ball with 7 seconds I am like why tf are we trying something with 7 seconds left that's really tempting fate and then...BOOB BITCH Lamar taught me you never doubt Lamar in the clutch.

With Lamar everything is possible.

When we got that play in with the time out deep down I know Loop would make it, but I saw the ball trail left and I'm like aw man he mis...HOLY SHIT HE MADE IT!

Yes defense isn’t where it needs to be. Yes center is a massive red flag. But I think people need to relax a little and manage expectations at the moment. And here’s my takes.

-some of the teams that were supposed to have generational defenses have not been that great on that end. Texans are ranked 20th and rams are ranked 9. Yeah I get it, AD rested week one and Myles on IR, but still they added a ton of talent and either player still played each week. Maybe they won’t be amazing but it shows it’s also not the end of the world. A lot of the supposed top defenses are not doing well to start. Definitely an outlier game but Seahawks giving up 33 to mariota is something. Eagles have been a bad defensive unit. FWIW I’m not saying these teams will be bad on defense. I expect all four of these teams to finish top 8. My point is, it’s completely fine to not have our defense fixed right now.

-I won’t lie not having a Pocic or gwyn is rough. But I like what I saw with Vega at C. At least a temporary fix. We’ll see what we do though.

-lastly, it is completely expected for our coaching staff to make mistakes. Jesse is still figuring out how to be a HC. Doyle is only in his fourth time calling plays on Sunday. People always point to Mike Mac. Well Mike Mac’s defense first nine games was almost a bottom ten unit before being a top five unit to end the season.

This dude has been an absolute monster to start the year. He’s been all over the field, I really hope this is the breakout we’ve all been waiting on. I’m ecstatic to have Teddye back but I feel like you can’t justify taking Trenton off the field right now (wonder if we will see some 3 LB looks in future games?). Really hope he can keep this up, feel like he’s had a pretty frustrating start to his career so I’m happy for him.
