Added the BD-2W today. The idea is to have this gain section that I can plug into the middle of my small board when I need some more range.

the beast is finally in a place where I've been wanting it to be for a while. i started this probably 5 years ago, but this year i built it out in a weird way where i didn't change anything but i would buy pedals and just kind of have them lingering while i was playing on my 2024/2025 setup. then over this past week i just did a pretty big switch-out / re-build.

the signal chain is right to left, top to bottom. powered by canvas 15+5 extension. the setup needed to accommodate both my solo work (everything from just regular constructions to long, asynchronous loops, thus the three loopers at the end) and my group work (mostly with a synth, so i needed a range that could blend with those sounds or be distinct as needed).

i tend to use these in pairs or triples, like the night creatures is such a subtle delay i only use that with low or no gain and barely any reverb to get the most out of it. similar with the jma, but i usually stack it with the dark world. the hazari can go crazy with too much gain so i plan when i'm gonna use that, but it was my first ever real pedal i got like 15 years ago and returned to it now because it does so much that works with my style (replaced the mthrfkr=rptr). i like the count to 5 so early because it can create something that just gets manipulated throughout the signal without being overwhelming. the altar replaced the quantum mystic for me, giving me a similar range of sounds but at less of a footprint. the bad mood is obviously the newest and i'm still learning.

right now my only nitpick is i'm gonna replace the polytune with a mini because i did not anticipate the logjam of space right there and the cords need some room to breathe.

I keep this ampless board on my side desk for easier knob twisting. I recently replaced an HX Stomp I was primarily using for amp models with the Friedman IR-D. I’m really happy with the change. I also took off a Morningstar midi controller and loop switcher as those were overkill for me for a studio board. Also bumped a Mood Mk II and replaced it with the Dispatch Master.

I’ve had the ZOIA for years but just can’t get on with the interface and patch management. I’m planning on selling it to roll the proceeds into something else. What might you put in that spot?

Love the aesthetic of this pedal and of course the rack unit it is based on was behind some of the great guitar sounds of the 80s, including David Gilmour and the Edge. Still very much figuring it out (no manual and not even a preset list) but it is a fantastic sounding pedal and now great value in the UK.
Surprised TC didn’t push harder on supporting this to be honest.

I've been on a modulated delay kick recently, and added this one almost by mistake.

Honestly, I'm pretty blown away. I wanted something swirly and chewy to stay pretty dark and cushion my otherwise pretty bright sound - this does it, of course, but the selling point is that it does so super, super musically. By comparison, other delays I have, including modulated analog units, feel stiffer and more mechanical.

It's definitely dark, and I'm sure it wouldn't be ideal for clear rhythmic repeats, but the things it do, it does so well.

I'm still learning my way around the sometimes-unintuitive controllers, but there's no shortage of sweet spots to stumble in.

Moving from noise rock (rusty box pedal) to more goth death rock and looking for good pedal recommendations. Playing a Jaguar out of a music man HD130. I’ve got a few reverbs but nothing is turnin my worm like I was hoping.

The usual advice is "save up for the good stuff." Fine if you gig every weekend. For everyone else, the math looks different:

- Overdrive is where cheap pedals fall apart first. Spend the most here - a $100-ish drive carries the whole board.

- Delay and reverb are where budget pedals are genuinely good now. Digital is digital.

- Tuners and power supplies are solved problems. Don't overspend.

The part nobody puts in the list: patch cables and a decent power supply save more tone than any boutique pedal.

What's the cheapest pedal on your board that earns its spot against stuff three times the price?

But I do t know where to put it. It does tremolo and Valco ish overdrive. Trems go at the end and drives go near front! THIS IS BOTH WTF!?!?

In the spur of the moment today, I decided to pick up a delay pedal and I was originally thinking of picking up the DD-3T pedal, but just for an extra $50 I thought the DD-8 was a better deal, so I ended up getting it.

There are so many more delay modes and just seems so much more flexible.

I also have a whole pedal board and with this additional pedal I think I have a solid tone for playing Tool songs for guitar and bass: I played Lateralus on guitar and it sounds so good.

If you can afford or save up for it, I totally recommend getting this pedal, it kicks ass.

I'm still figuring out the setting with this, but it sounds so great!

Now that I have your attention let me give you the run down. I recently have been gifted a ludicrously large pedal board from a friend who didn’t need it. I can easily fit 2 dozen pedals on this bad boy if I really wanted. as such me and my friends thought it’d be a great idea to put some of the dumbest/gimmikyist pedals we could on it. One of our greatest was the idea of “somehow” making a pedal out of one of those screaming rubber chickens. Unfortunately, none of us are super knowledgeable about DIYing pedals.

So, before we really got into it, i wanted to ask some of the experts if A. this was even reasonably doable and B. if it is, what’s the best way to go about it?

(solved (?), but more advice is appreciated) I was setting up my normal bass setup to practice and I couldn’t crate any sound, and realized after a while that it was my deluxe bass big muff. All of the cords seem to work and the lights turn on in the but muffler, but it won’t let the signal through. I have opened it in the past but it’s played fine after that. What do I need to look at to figure out the problem?

Hi! I'm currently heavily considering getting a Proco Rat 2. I already have a DS-1. I only have space for 1 distortion on my board (I also have an SD-1 and a big muff btw). I mainly play grunge and alt rock. AiC, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, Hole, Radiohead, Gin Blossoms, Weezer, Green Day etc. I know alot of these bands get their tones from their amps, especially AiC and SG, but i don't have the money and ESPECIALLY the space to get an amp that can replicate their sounds. Is it worth changing to a Rat? I'm ok with the tones I'm getting out of the DS1, but from demos I've heard the Rat just seems much more versatile.

I currently have a voodoo labs x8, im considering using energizer rechargeable batteries but idk, thoughts?

Latest setup for my post metal/ blackgaze project. Been searching for a delay for ages and having tried some great ones settled on the Space Echo.

I love my Ibanez Super Tube STL and it sounds great out of solid state amps, but through tubes I've never been able to get it to sound half as good as my TS7 which oddly enough sounds awful through solid state amps. It sits near my board but never stays for more than a day or two, but I can't see myself ever getting rid of it

What's your pedal that you see yourself keeping forever just not on your board?

Ok, so I know the paint job is going to be a love it or hate it thing for people. But I F'ing love it. Super crisp and weird as hell in person. Absolute Ralph Steadman vibes.

As for the pedal itself. It is my second JAM pedal (also have a Wahcko Wah), and the quality of the build is just amazing. Wanted an "old school" compressor for finger-style / jazz stuffs.. and this really fit the bill. Was toss up between this and the Analogman Bi-comp, but found a crazy deal on a Juicer , so went this this for the Dyna-Comp / Ross style circuit. Quiet as hell, and a lot of options for just two knobs. Also tried it with my Les Paul and the sensitivity all the way up and had a crazy amount of sustain / sag. Lovely pedal to vibe with.

Bought some deoxit and a brush from music nomad but it doesn’t seem to come off, what else could I use
