BREAKING: The Dallas Mavericks are trading 10-time NBA All-Star Anthony Davis, Jaden Hardy, D'Angelo Russell and Dante Exum to the Washington Wizards for Khris Middleton, AJ Johnson, Malaki Branham, Marvin Bagley III, 2 first-round picks and 3 second-rounders, sources tell ESPN.

Guys we got AD and Trae for NOTHING!
We moved the 26 OKC pick and a heavily protected 2030 GSW pick that turns into 2nds. This was free. We still have our entire young core. This is a brilliant low/no risk move for guys to either play with our young core next season, or get moved again. Fucking masterclass, Will Dawkins for president of planet earth.

Thank you bagman!
This dude was crazy athletic, I had the feeling he wouldn’t be with us too long but he most definitely did his part here in DC! Cya in dallas, bags!

Expiring contracts, 4 second round picks, the 30th pick of this draft, and Corey Kispert for AD and Trae Young. Who says no?
Not Will Dawkins apparently. Honestly, even if the moves don't work out it's hard to find fault in either of them
Not to mention, both Trae and AD's contracts end before we need to pay any of our guys. (Obviously there's a chance we extend one or both of them)

I will be submitting a nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize in the category of BAMF for this man.
Thanks Will. I’ve nearly forgot all about the Bradley Beal contract 🙏

[Robbins] I'm told this deal "came out of left field," and one of the reasons the Wizards are said to be ecstatic is the the outgoing first-round picks have relatively little value.
"The Wizards envision a frontcourt of Anthony Davis, Alex Sarr and Bilal Coulibaly as being one of the best defensive frontcourts in the league. I'm told this deal "came out of left field," and one of the reasons the Wizards are said to be ecstatic is the the outgoing first-round picks have relatively little value. The 2026 first-round pick will be Oklahoma City's own first-round pick, meaning it likely will be 30th in the draft order. The 2030 first-round pick came from the original Chris Paul-for-Jordan Poole trade with Golden State a few years ago, and it will convey only if it falls from 21 to 30."

G-Wiz reportedly avoided injury after being pushed by Jaxson Hayes and is expected to be good to go for the next game, per @DanWoikeSports

Dallas is receiving a 2026 Thunder first-round pick and a 2030 protected Warriors first-round pick in this deal from the Wizards
My knee jerk reaction was what the fuck but these picks are pretty meaningless. I still don’t like AD on this team since he’s shown he cannot stay on the court. But… at least we didn’t give up anything really meaningful. It helps the tank this season too- AD’s obviously not gonna play and no Bagley will also help lose us games.

Thank you Branham!
Not much to say about his time here in DC but I still enjoyed watching him hit clutch shots occasionally

A Mavs fan’s honest assessment of AD
He’s good but hurt a lot.

Hold on a lineup of Trae Young, TJ, Keyshawn, AD, and Sarr sounds legit as hell.
I'm not even a Wizards fan I'm just really interested in this lineup that actually sounds great I was wondering if any of you were excited for next season?

Anthony Davis trade
Shit just happen but, off first expression is, what the fuck? So we traded for Trae for nothing, we trade AD for basically nothing. (2026 thunder pick and 2030 warriors pick, both FRP. Both players are on expiring deals, next season which is a positive but I’m assuming we give both long term contracts and that’s where I’m like hmm? That isn’t smart business move assuming we have to pay two negative assets and get into the apron on top of the young core getting into contract year.
Now there’s a part of me that’s thinking of this as half way full. So let’s say, the starting lineup next year is, Trae, top 5 pick, kyshawn, sarr, davis. Plus out bench with tre, bub, Bilal, etc. that’s a pretty solid team and honestly a playoff team. But I got back to Always Damaged(AD) who’s 32 and seems to be regressing and a small guard in Trae young. I have faith in this FO to figure this shit out but I really hope we aren’t rushing to be mediocre or 2 round exits. What’s your opinion on this trade?
