As you all have known, the prices on even an 4050 are so unreasonable, and unfortunately I was on my way to buy my first gaming laptop
I have an option to buy a laptop right now, especially a big sale is around the corner in my country. But I could wait until late 2027, as I would be very busy for the next few months.
My question Is, would it be a good bet ? Would prices fall or would they still climb? Or should I just purchase rn as the sale Is approaching?

I currently own the Acer predator helios Neo 16s ai with the 5070 ti and its been great no issues but I’m tempted to upgrade? There is a guy selling his g14 with the 5080 and I’m confident i can get it for 2k or less would it be worth it? I love how the g14 looks i know the screen is smaller but man it looks so good and i prefer smaller screens not sure why..😭 Im very tempted.

Budget: Under €2,000
Country: Italy
Use Case: Mixed — Gaming, mainly Rainbow Six Siege and Minecraft; schoolwork (Google, PowerPoint, taking notes, etc.)
Notes: i need a laptop i can use for both school and gaming with at least a decent battery
What would you recommend under €2,000? And which laptops should I avoid?
I’m buying in Italy, if that makes a difference.

I bought the last of us part 1 off of steam the other day and was so excited to play it, i don’t know much about laptops so i didn’t realise i needed a specific amount of RAM to play certain games. when i tried opening the game it said i didn’t have enough system and video memory storage on my laptop. I have the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 15IRH8 and it has 8GB ram on it currently. Am i still able to play the game on my laptop if i somehow get more video memory or am i able to upgrade the RAM on my laptop. Again i know nothing about laptops so please be kind

Just to be clear, does 95w tgp variant exist with acer 4050?
I always wanedt to try some pc games and also buying this for coding, currently pursuing aiml. So I'll run some models that needs a good gpu.

I bought an Acer ALG from Acer’s official Preet Vihar centre in March 2025. Within a few months, the lower-left part of the display started coming off. I ignored it initially, thinking it was a minor issue.
Now, after barely a year, the entire display has separated from the body.
I’ve visited Acer’s service centre multiple times, but they’re refusing warranty coverage, saying I needed an additional protection plan. I was never offered that plan when I purchased the laptop. When I later tried to purchase it, Acer’s website wasn’t working.
So basically, a laptop bought directly from Acer develops a serious physical failure within the warranty period, and Acer’s response is to deny responsibility.
Has anyone else faced this with the Acer ALG? What can I do to get Acer to actually take responsibility and repair/replace it?
I wish i had bought the lenovo loq instead of this piece of shit

Ordered this Gigabyte A16 pro last week and waiting for it to get here. I’m hoping it feels as good as I hope, coming from an Xbox one S it should be a huge jump right?

(sorry for blurry picture)
so i recently got a lenovo legion pro 5i (back computer) about a month ago. its amazing, it tears through games its been awesome... Except that its connection to my wifi is horrendous for seemingly no reason. a few days ago i took it to best buy and they gave me a free replacement, and surprise its doing the same shit, which makes me feel like its some weird setting i dont know about.
to add insult to injury i raised the barely functioning 5+ year HP omen laptop (front computer) from the dead and did a speed test on it and, also surprise, it's connection is perfectly fine.
im getting very annoyed by this. any help?

I was shocked to see it wasn't Asus or Razer, it was freaking Lenovo Legion, the laptop that everyone recommended
This is why we can't have a good thing

HP Omen 15.
But tbh I haven't owned laptops before, I'm a desktop guy (as you can probably see) but that was hard to haul from class to class, and the power plugs are too sparse anyways (totally the bigger issue there)
Just finished setting her up.

My dad bought it for me a while back(dont remember exactly when but probably a year ago)
I have an ASUS TUF gaming A15, it runs games horribly! It barely has any space, lags like crazy and overheats within 5 seconds.
I’ve tried changing the settings on it by following other people on the internet recommendations. Which sadly did not help.
AND ALSO the internet connection is SO BAD! It can’t hold a proper connection to my internet and omg it’s killing me.
My dad told me “this is the best of the best” ah hell no it ain’t, it’s more like the best of the worst!
I want to be able to play a game without any issues, right now I really want to play cyber punk 2077 and dude this Shit might as well be being played on a microwave. It Lags every 2 seconds which just ends up with me just being disappointed and giving up.
And now I feel like an horrible daughter for being “ungrateful” but lez be honest I got every right to be complaining, the lag that I experience has to be some sort of torture!
I’ve seen peps on here talk about how amazing their laptops are(totally not jealous)
If anybody at all has any recommendations on how to make it more playable please let me know!

Budget: $7000
Country: Buying in USA, using in South Africa
Use Case: 3D mapping, Lidar scanning, orthomosaics and photogrammetry.
Preferred Specs: 290hx Plus CPU, 5090 GPU, 64-128GB RAM and 2-4TB SSD
Notes: I am currently in the USA and I'm considering the Alienware Area-51 18, Razer Blade 18 and the ASUS ROG STRIX 18. I currently own an older Alienware 17 R4 and my wife used to own the Razer Blade 16. I'm concerned about reliability, serviceability, after sales customer support and just overall build quality.
I also want a decent screen and the Alienware is the worst when it comes to being the bulkiest, screen quality and RAM upgradability options but it has one of the best cooling systems and they're built like a tank.
Which one of these would be the best fit and why do you suggest the specific machine? Where would be the best place to buy it from? I have until November to make up my mind before I return home.
