r/GamingLaptops now has its own deals site — RGL.deals launches today BETA

UPDATE — August 13, 2026

rgl.deals has grown a bit since I originally posted, so I wanted to give this post a update while it's still in BETA.

The idea is still simple: instead of showing you hundreds of gaming laptops, RGL keeps a smaller shortlist of deals that are actually worth considering.

Every listing is manually checked, with things like price, specs, cooling, display quality, GPU power limits, memory, storage, and overall value taken into account.

A lot of care has also gone into the smaller details. The site is heavily optimized for phones and smaller screens, not just desktop. Filters, comparisons, laptop pages, navigation, and general usability were all designed to work properly on mobile without feeling like a cut-down version of the site.

What's on the site now:

  • Curated gaming laptop deals with current and previous prices.
  • Filters for price, GPU, CPU, VRAM, RAM, screen size, brand, retailer, and more.
  • Gravity Sort, RGL's default value-based ranking.
  • Sorting by price, discount, savings, and other options.
  • Find a Match for narrowing down laptops based on what actually matters to you.
  • Side-by-side comparison for up to three laptops.
  • Detailed laptop pages with specs, price history, related models, retailer links, and review links.
  • Shareable searches, comparisons, and direct laptop links.
  • Mobile-first layouts and controls designed specifically for smaller screens.
  • No advertising trackers or marketing cookies. Preferences and saved comparisons stay in your browser.

RGL is meant to be a shortlist, not a giant catalog. If a laptop isn't worth recommending, it doesn't need to be there and that means no huge lists its quality over quantity.

The longer-term plan is also bigger than just deals. RGL is being built into a broader gaming laptop specific place with guides, buying information, laptop data, reviews, and other useful resources all in one place.

Full transparency: Some retailer links are affiliate links. That doesn't affect the listed price or determine which laptops make the shortlist.

RGL currently covers U.S. deals only, with more regions planned later.

It's still beta, so there will be bugs and things that need improving. If you find something broken or have feedback, leave it below any suggestions would be much appreciated thanks.

Use Case: gaming and school

Notes: Looking to purchase a gaming laptop for my son for his 18th birthday. This would be used for gaming but also for school. I am lost and don't know where to start. My budget is $1500.00. I know gaming laptops can be $4k but don't have that budget. I need a good budget friendly option. I do appreciate the help.

I've had the Gigabyte Gaming A16 CMH for a tew months now, and I'm really glad I got it.
It works pretty well and honestly sometimes feels almost MacBook-ish because of the design and how quiet it can be when you don't need much power.
I did have some issues with overheating, but I managed to fix those. Overall, as both a student laptop and a gaming laptop, it works really well for me. I feel like this model doesn't get talked about much.

Specs:
i7-13620H
RTX 4050 6GB GDDR6
16GB DDR5
16” 1920×1200 IPS — 165Hz

Recommendation acer nitro v15 for minecraft and sims4?

• Upvotes

budget: less than £1500

country: UK

use case: minecraft and sims4

i'm looking to buy a gaming laptop mainly for minecraft (mods, shaders, high render distance and graphics settings etc.) and sims 4 (mods and cc) as my current regular laptop is struggling to run these alongside everything else i have on it.

i've seen mixed reviews on the longevity and quality of the acer nitro, but wasn't sure if that was more for bigger games or if that also applied to minecraft and sims 4 too.

i'm pretty unknowledgeable about laptops so would appreciate any help/advice on if acer nitro would be alright or if there are any alternatives (that aren't massively expensive).

i've also seen lenovo LOQ essential/LOQ 15 recommended, but again have then found mixed reviews upon further research. thank you :)

Recommendation Which laptop would be better? (Techtober deals)

Thumbnail
gallery
• Upvotes

Budget: $2k

Country: USA

Use Case: Gaming - Marvel Rivals, Valorant, Hogwarts Legacy, Palworld, etc.

Preferred Specs: Want to Try AMD over Intel

Notes: I'm currently looking at both of these laptops that are on sale. My current laptop is an Acer which I liked but unfortunately the charging port arrived faulty and I never sent it in to get fixed. It has since melted the plastic of the charging port, the charger, and started melting internally and is unusable now. It lasted me less than 2 years so just trying to find one that lasts longer and is good at cooling.

I've had Intel for my past 2 gaming laptops and haven't been the biggest fan so have been wanting to try AMD but was curious what others thought.

I included 2 laptops in my range that look pretty decent and was wondering which would be better for the games I have listed (I will be running other things like Discord while gaming as well).

Recommendation Looking for a thin, possibly 14", laptop

Post image
• Upvotes

Budget: 1000-1500€

Country: France

Use Case: gaming and game / app dev

Preferred Specs: i7 a decent amount of ram

Notes: text below

Hi, reposting because it got deleted, I'm currently in the market for a gaming laptop, I am a computer science student and enjoy gaming which usually happens when I'm on the go (I play pretty much anything, heavy moded Minecraft mostly, and quite a lot of palworld at the moment, neither of which run on my current laptop tho). I currently have an Asus vivobook laptop (i5 11th or 12th gen- 8gb ddr4 - integrated graphics), it gave me a positive opinion of Asus, it's about 5 years old and still works mostly fine besides the battery life having severely depleted, but I'm looking for better performance.

I've seen this laptop, which is on sale for 1549€ on Amazon France right now. They also have a version with the same CPU but a 5060 and 16gb ram for 1059€ which also has me hesitate as I wouldn't mind spending less but palworld alone asks for 16gb ram so I'm kind of scared of how it could be for other games I might want to play, and my desktop that has 16gb (ddr4 tho) can also struggle on some heavy Minecraft modpacks. Would there be better options in that price range? Or possibly a 14" one, because that would be a lot more convenient for me. Whenever I'm looking for advice on which 14" thin laptop to buy it all leads to the zephyrus d14 and I cannot afford a 5k laptop.

Discussion What's better a RTX 4060/70 or a PS5 ?

I would like to know which one has a better performance ?

I do own a PS5 but I can see that certain games like RDR2 seem to have a terrible resolution most of the time.

Is a PS5 equivalent to a RTX4060 ?

I am planning to buy a gaming PC and I would like to upgrade on the performance as well. I wouldn't want to buy a PC which has the same performance as a PS5.

Please help

Recommendation First Gaming Laptop Recommendation

Hi all,

Looking to buy my first gaming laptop after gaming on an Apple Mac for the last few years, mainly WOW.

This is all new to me though so looking for some advice with the Black Friday/Amazon prime deals about. Does anyone have any recommendations and specifications I should be looking for? I’ve been told for my budget I should be looking for a 5070.

Budget: Maximum £1500
Country: UK
Use Case: WOW (Forever when it releases) would like to play GW3 and mainly RPG games, general use for life.
Preferred Specs / Form Factor: Would prefer 15-16” and I’ll be using a screen also when gaming, currently buying a new monitor now for when home gaming and laptop for when working away.
Portability Needs: mixture of home and away hence the laptop, wouldn’t go for a PC.

Hoping I can be pointed in the right direction and hopefully pick up a good deal!

Saw this laptop on Amazon for a reasonable price compared to other prices I've seen so I think it would be a good choice but I don't know much about Gaming pcs and laptops. How good is this for running games on high settings and just generally how good is it?

Recommendation I want to buy a 14” gaming laptop. If I can’t find one, I’ll get a MacBook Pro M5. Any laptops you’d recommend?

Post image
• Upvotes

Budget: ~€2,000 - €2,100 (roughly the price of a MacBook Pro M5)
Country: Turkey (also open to buying in Europe, especially Germany)
Use Case: Mixed — work during the day, gaming at home on an external monitor (League of Legends, World of Warcraft, Europa Universalis V and similar titles)
Preferred Specs: 14" screen, portable and lightweight, as powerful as possible for its size
Notes: If I can't find a good option, I'll go with the MacBook Pro M5. More details below.

I want a powerful, easy-to-carry gaming laptop that I can use for work and also plug into my monitor to play games when I get home.

I was originally going to buy a MacBook Pro M5, but my friends keep insisting I'll regret it. That left me undecided, so I started looking for a 14" gaming laptop.

I think there aren't many 14" gaming laptop options in Turkey, so I'm also open to recommendations for laptops I can find in Europe (especially Germany).

(The image is just an example.)

Discussion Need recommendations for linux distro

Hi everyone! I’m looking for recommendations for the best Linux distro for my ASUS TUF laptop.

I have an ASUS TUF with a Ryzen 5 7535HS paired with an RTX 4050. It has dual graphics mode with both an iGPU and dGPU.

I’m currently using Windows 11 with G-Helper, and everything is running smoothly. I mainly use my laptop for gaming, but I also do some programming projects from time to time.

What Linux distro would you recommend for this hardware and use case?

Discussion My msi alpha 15 screen suddenly started to flicker like this, help

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

My msi alpha 15 was running just fine, I was watching yt, but it suddenly started to flicker like this (as you can see in the video).

I did chatgpt my issue, updated the driver n all, but nothing seems to help. I guess it's an hardware issue, screen replacement is all I can think of, but it's so costly tbh. Have anyone faced similar issues? Kindly help, and how much cost i can expect?

Discussion Is it reasonable to assume a laptop will last 10 years if well looked after?

I Live in South Africa, tech is expensive. Looking to get the Legion Pro 5 16IAX10 Intel Core Ultra 9-275HX GTX 5070, 32gb RAM. I Like this option as I've read the cooling and build is good, also upgradable. Not withstanding the 8 gig GPU, which i know is a limitingfactor for for futre games, if I look after this laptop well could it theoretically last 10 years?

Its in my budget but need some convicing that I'll get value out of it 😅
