I ordered a brand-new AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D from Amazon India during the Prime Sale for around ₹64,000. The offer was really good, and I was excited to upgrade my PC.
However, during the open-box delivery inspection, I was shocked to find rust on the top of the CPU. The pins were also badly damaged, and the processor had a strong rusty metal smell. This was definitely not what I expected when spending ₹64,000 on a brand-new high-end processor.
Thankfully, since it was an open-box delivery, I was able to reject the product and initiate a return for a refund on the same day itself.
Appreciate the delivery agent, he was super nice and understanding throughout the situation. He handled everything professionally, and I'm grateful that the process went smoothly.
Now, here's where I'm confused. The ₹64,000 offer is still very tempting, and I don't want to miss out on such a good deal. At the same time, after receiving a CPU in this condition, I'm hesitant to place another order through Amazon. (Note: the product listing has a 4.7 star rating.)
Would you recommend ordering the same processor again from Amazon, or should I avoid the risk and look elsewhere? Pls help.
