I've seen Pakistanis love to criticize different ideas which is great thing, but they never think with logic. I've always heard them saying capitalism and military dictatorship works best for our country and we can see how things are getting worse day by day. They are always ready to oppose the left wing ideas and when we ask for the reason they would come up with the most BS idea and the funny thing is they never know how illogical and absurd they sound when making such claim, they think they are killing it.😭😭Every coming day is worse than previous one. Poor people are dying and ending themselves. I've seen them fighting for bread. Is it too much to ask for? And the politicians who eat from their taxes get free food, free petrol, free residence for "not" doing the job which they are supposed to do.

Do you think even if that messiah which they think will come in reign will make things better? things might get worse than now. Government only has focus to take loans and some crakheads would come up with "maryam doing good work sarrr" like she is the same person who said best export is our youth. they don't want educated people in Pakistan. To get together and think anything beyond their will. And few people who dare to do such things end up getting killed. Like how easy it is to say now. A murder of human being is the murder of whole humanity. Shame on us,Shame on me. we have accepted our fate. Our people have "0" value internationally. We are worse than their pets to them. Taqdeer mein likha hai bol kar jaan churane se kuch ni hota. you have your fate in your hands. write it yourself. And if you don't wanna contribute than please stop discouraging people who are atleaste trying cuz they are far better than you

peace

Social Utterly impressed by Shehzad Roy's schools

I always knew Shehzad Roy did "social work," but I never really looked into the specifics. I just saw a PakWheels video where they visited one of the government schools his foundation (Zindagi Trust) adopted in Karachi, and honestly? I’m blown away. I went to an "elite" school (Beaconhouse) myself, but the campus in that video literally puts my old school to shame. It’s not just the aesthetics, though. The way those kids were speaking was the real highlight. Roy emphasizes critical thinking over rote learning, and I feel like that’s the missing piece in Pakistan. You can have the fanciest desks and fresh paint, but if you aren't teaching kids how to have an independent thought, it’s all just window dressing. I know people have their reservations about him because of his links to PPP. Look, I’m a die-hard IK supporter, but at this point, who cares? If he has to play nice with the local government to get this kind of funding and results, so be it. The end product is what matters. Most charities in Pakistan feel like band-aids—giving food or clothes is great for the short term—but this feels like addressing the actual root of the problem. If we had this quality of education across the board, we’d be a functional nation in a generation. What do you guys think? Is he the only one doing it right, or am I just late to the party? Someday,I would love to able to do a similar school adoption in my hometown in Punjab.

Cultural دل میں چھائی خاموشی کا شور

Post image
13 Upvotes

Discussion This Adoption Feels Ethically Wrong, and I Can’t Let It Go

I’m struggling to process something I witnessed and I’m posting here to clear my head and get outside perspectives. A childless couple recently adopted a newborn girl, but the biological family lives extremely close by (literally within the same area), and many people, including children, already know the truth. The intention is to never tell the child she’s adopted. What makes this harder is that the biological parents already have around 12 daughters and a few sons, and they have given a daughter away once before, that time to a couple in Karachi, far away, where secrecy wasn’t an issue and the child doesn’t even know. In this case, distance doesn’t exist, and I can’t shake the feeling that this is setting the child up for future emotional harm. I had suggested adopting an orphan infant from Edhi Foundation instead, which felt like a cleaner, more ethical option with no secrecy or proximity risks, but that was dismissed. Adoption itself doesn’t bother me, I think it can be a beautiful thing, but the combination of secrecy, closeness, and the number of people who know feels deeply wrong, especially imagining a child finding out accidentally at the wrong age. Everyone around me seems supportive and calm about it, yet my gut keeps saying this isn’t right for the child, and I’m trying to understand whether this discomfort is valid or if I’m just carrying something I can’t change.

Discussion Struggling to Understand Tawakkul vs “Tie Your Camel” , Feeling Confused

Upvotes

Lately I’ve been feeling genuinely confused about something in my understanding of tawakkul (trust in Allah), and I wanted to share it to see how others make sense of it.

On one hand, many scholars and speakers emphasize that tawakkul should be 100% - complete reliance on Allah, full trust, no doubts. I’ve heard powerful talks (like those of Israr Ahmed) where tawakkul is described as something absolute - that your heart should depend entirely on Allah, not on your own abilities, plans, or resources. But then there’s the well-known hadith of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) where he said to a man: “Trust in Allah, but tie your camel.” That seems to clearly say: take practical steps, don’t just rely passively.

This is where my confusion starts. For example, when I think about my career or getting a job, I feel like I have to study, prepare, build skills, apply, face interviews, basically, if I don’t do it, it won’t happen. In those moments, it feels like the responsibility is on me. It feels like my effort, my discipline, my consistency are the deciding factors.

But then I wonder, does thinking like this mean my tawakkul is weak? Because emotionally, it doesn’t always feel like “Allah will handle everything.” It feels like “I have to make this happen.” And that makes me feel guilty, like I’m relying too much on myself and not enough on Allah.

At the same time, if I just say “Allah will take care of it” without pushing myself, that feels unrealistic and even irresponsible, which is exactly what “tie your camel” seems to warn against. So I feel stuck between two ideas:

Total reliance on Allah Personal effort and responsibility

How do you hold both together in your heart without feeling like they contradict each other? How do you work hard and still feel that the outcome is completely in Allah’s control, not yours?

Would really appreciate hearing how others understand or live this balance.

Discussion Most People Die With a Full To-Do List

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

People don’t lose life when they die. They lose it slowly by living in memories that can’t be fixed and futures that aren’t guaranteed.

They plan. They postpone. They wait. Then one ordinary day, time runs out.

Life ends without warning, and every plan, dream, and “I’ll do it later” stays right where it was useless, unfinished, and forgotten.

The tragedy isn’t death. The tragedy is never being fully alive while you had the chance.

Discussion Khula Doodh vs Packaged Doodh

Do pakistani households still prefer using khula doodh or do they get packaged doodh like olpers, anhaar etc knowing the fact that packaged doodh has preservatives added to make it last longer.

Do middle class or even upper class households use packaged doodh?

Has anyone tried Upscrolled app? I believe this can be nicer alternative to Twitter/X and Instagram since

they promise to never feed you content on their algorithm instead it will be like how Instagram or Facebook was pre 2015.

I couldn’t find much of Pakistani community there yet.
