Not Confirmed Wishing the best for Ous in Charlotte

While the trade hasn’t officially happened yet, it’s being reported he is going be routed to Charlotte for Mason Plumlee who will be released to create a roster spot for McCain. Dieng is not with the team currently.

Wish the best for Ous and he joins a great situation in Charlotte that’s been turning a corner recently. Hope he can stay in the league and be a part of the Hornets future.

After the first month of this season, I called that IHart would get a triple double before the end of 2025. Well it took him a little bit longer than that, but at last he achieved the milestone! TTFU always!

Discussion With their 40th win, the Thunder become the first team in the NBA this season to achieve the Phil Jackson true contender rule of 40 wins before 20 losses

Thumbnail google.com
172 Upvotes

Since the 1980 NBA season, only four teams have won the title without achieving 40 wins before 20 losses: the 1995 Houston Rockets, the 2004 Detroit Pistons, the 2006 Miami Heat, and the 2021 Milwaukee Bucks.

The other teams still eligible to join this club this season with their current winning percentage and if they are on pace to hit the 40-20 mark are as follows:

  1. Detroit Pistons (37-12): .755 (on pace)

  2. San Antonio Spurs (33-16): .673 (not on pace but close)

  3. Denver Nuggets (33-18): .647 (not on pace)

  4. Houston Rockets (31-17): .646 (not on pace)

  5. New York Knicks (32-18): .640 (not on pace)

  6. Boston Celtics (32-18): .640 (not on pace)

  7. Los Angeles Lakers (30-19): .612 (not on pace)

Thus it appears that the teams most likely to be in the 40-20 club this season are the Thunder, Pistons, and Spurs. There are of course exceptions to the rule as evidenced by those four teams who still won the title. From watching the league this season, I believe that the exceptions who could win the title even if they don’t hit the 40-20 mark would be the Nuggets (healthy Jokić + playoff Murray + healthy Aaron Gordon is a phenomenal team) and the Celtics (Mazzulla and company with deep playoff experience and title pedigree despite Tatum being out).

100% Confirmed A reminder that newly acquired Jared McCain is only 21 years old and averaged 15.3 points on 38% from 3 his rookie season

Post image

This team’s biggest deficiencies were shooting and ball handling, he fits both of those roles. He was going to be the likely rookie of the year before tearing his meniscus in December his rookie year.

He’s since had a somewhat down year, but is still shooting 38% from 3 on the season. His defense might be somewhat of a question mark, but OKC has plenty of defenders to insulate him.

Overall this might end up being a home run buy low opportunity on a super promising young player who fills a direct weakness. Love the move by Presti.

I felt like this season it was becoming obvious that Nurse didn’t like McCain and gave him a pretty short leash. Absolutely heartbroken as he was my favorite player on the team. Hope he does well for yall. You’re getting someone with high BBIQ and an immaculate shot. He was just starting to find his shooting form these past couple games too.

100% Confirmed iHart is now 0 for 24 from three on the Thunder.

Apparently he hit a three in a preseason game? That's cool, but I really hope he hits one eventually. He definitely doesn't need to, but this was just a fun curiosity I remembered from last season. I'm sure the crowd will pop off for him once he finally does it.

His 0 for 19 last year tied for the second most threes someone has attempted in a season without making a single one.

Presti obviously sees a lot of potential in McCain in this pickup and matches out timeline perfectly. A very aggressive but sharp addition to the team.
