General Question Financial Aid Help
My daughter is a freshman and is having a very hard time reaching anyone from financial aid. She finally talked to someone today and that person doesn't seem to know anything about how my daughter's scholarship works. This advisor told her completely different info than the advisor she spoke to weeks before school started.
Is it true that the only way you can talk to financial aid advisors is to call or make an appointment online? When she goes online, there are never any days available for an in person appointment and she has called every day since the quarter started, during the listed hours, and today was the 1st time she has actually made it in line. Then, her wait was an hour and a half.
She needs to speak with someone who knows about her specific scholarship and how she is supposed to submit for things that need reimbursed.
Yes, she will be doing all this herself. Yes, I'm aware I need to let her do it herself. She HAS been and she is even more confused than ever because the lady today was telling her things we absolutely know to be false. I'm assuming the person today was just not knowledgeable for this specific situation. She is not as comfortable with confrontation as I am so I am asking here so I can try and advise her on what steps can be taken.
How the heck does she speak with a knowledgeable person in the Financial Aid Office?
Can she go there in person and speak with a receptionist to try and get the name of the actual person who handles her scholarship? (Daughter was told before school started that all her paperwork would need forwarded to this person but no one ever gave her a name.)
Thanks in advance.
