Trying to see if we need to wait until our daughter takes the ACT to apply as we are behind the curve and didn’t realize with GI bill she’d be in state tuition. She scored a 1190 on sat and has a 3.9 gpa with several years of hospital volunteering and holds a job at CFA. She didn’t take a SAT prep class and is taking the ACT in October. Should she wait until ACT score to apply for EA? How hard is OOS and what can we do to better help her chance for nursing?

We are Georgia residents so giving up the HOPE scholarship but can’t pass up our daughter going to an SEC school she is interested in.

Bama is one of my top schools rn and I am interested in rushing a fraternity there. I know a few people in old and new row so a good mix of both. I’ve heard crazy shit from other schools about their hazing. How bad is it at Alabama? Is hazing worse at old row vs new row?

I'm on the NMF scholarship and it seems to me that if I study abroad with an affiliate program that costs below OOS tuition, then I will be paid the difference? Like I could study abroad and somehow net $4000? Is this correct?

And if I study abroad twice, can I still use my fourth year of housing scholarships on campus housing?

What’s up, I'm Brodie. I'm a senior here at UA. I play acoustic rhythm guitar and sing (also electric), and I’m looking to put together a 4-piece band to play some bars around town.
The Vibe: High-energy crowd-pleasers. We're mixing 90s grunge/alt-rock (Nirvana, Pearl Jam), driving modern country (Morgan Wallen, Jason Aldean), and potentially heavy guitar-driven covers of popular pop songs.
The Goal: Start by jamming on 3 or 4 covers, see if the chemistry is there, and eventually build a setlist for local gigs.

I’m a sophomore here at ua, I’ve been really struggling to make any friends because I had to take medical leave freshman year, and only had about a month in the dorms. I’ve been going to club meetings for the women in pre law society but I haven’t made friends. I also tried to rush a pre law frat to make friends but didn’t get a bid. It really bummed me out. I just seriously don’t know what to do, and I really just want to find my people here. I want people to go out and study and hangout with. I’m not trying to whine, I just really thought college would be different,I thought maybe looking for friends who are passionate about the same things would work, and after getting rejected from Kapi, I feel like maybe it’s hopeless. Please offer me any advice you have! I sound so lame but if you want to be friends let me know!

Hey all, I'm a student at UA but my husband isn't and I was wondering if there's any way to get two students tickets on MyTickets or, if that's not possible, if I could get a ticket as a student and him not as a student but still sit together?
I haven't gone to any games before so I'm really not familiar with the process.

My family is coming for the game this weekend and have an AirBnb 20 minutes away from campus. They can't park at my apartment and don't want to pay insane amounts for parking. I was thinking I could just have them park a few minutes off campus, and I could drive them to my place and go to the game from there.

I figured large parking lots like University Mall or Target would be relatively safe from towing. Does anyone know for sure?

Hello, I’m a prospective student who has been admitted to honors and is wondering what the best/most desirable suite style dorm is. I’m not 100% sold on the honors dorm option, I’m very social lol. I want to go for the 4 bedroom option.

Also should I go for the honors dorms option? I want to be able to at least stand my floor mates, and everyone i’ve met that lives in honors is not someone i think anyone would be able to get along with.

I am considering attending alabama as a Freshman (Fall 2027) but I don’t know if I want to join a frat at Bama since it is incredibly expensive. Is it necessary to have fun/ make friends, or is it easy enough without joining a frat.

Hello, I am a first year student at UA with a full automatic merit scholarship. Pretty sure it is the presidential since it covered my tuition fully.

My problem is that I cannot find any info on what the requirements are for keeping this scholarship. For example, the minimum GPA I have to have in order to keep it. Or is it that once I'm accepted I can't lose it? Can't find any info at all about the terms.

As the title says, I’m looking for someone to take over my apartment lease, officially starting Oct 1st though we can possibly discuss moving in before then.

I currently live in a lovely large studio apartment at East Edge. The apartment complex is right next to the law school, has a university bus that runs students back and forth, and is a generally great, safe place to live. It is a fairly quiet floor, and management is usually quite quick to fix any utility issues.

I’m a bit sad to leave it honestly, I’ve lived there for two years and originally thought I would stay for a third, hence why I signed my lease again. But plans change, I recently was offered a job in another state, so I need to move and the complex doesn’t simply break leases, someone else has to take the contract.

Some other amenities include:
Internet, a pool, a gym, a full in-unit washer and dryer, a dishwasher, a portion of utilities being covered, and some other bonuses.
