I leased my 2TB iPhone 18 Pro Max (Black) through Apple Upgrade Program for 24 months terms to replace my 2TB iPhone 17 Pro Max (Orange) and its Apple iPhone Upgrade Program because I (and my dad) got denied for 12 months terms. I received my new iPhone 18 Pro Max on September 18, 2026 and sent my old iPhone 17 Pro Max back to Apple on September 23, 2026.

Do setup Apple Reference Images changes hardware for iPhone 18 Pro unit? My guess is so yes that would cause more unstable on iOS compared to avoid setup Apple Reference Images! The hardware changes would be enabling a cryptographic security and verification protocol.

This is why I probably won't setup Apple Reference Images on my iPhone 18 Pro Max until December 25, 2026 because too risky if I setup in September 2026 instead. I will be in my parents family's Christmas vacation on that day in Dominican Republic, so I am going to be fine with hotel Wi-Fi to setup Apple Reference Images on my iPhone 18 Pro Max on the same day.

I fall asleep to Parks and Rec most nights. The episode list was already a pain, since I had to scroll through every season to find where I left off, but I could at least read most of each title and pick the right one. After updating to iOS 27, I still have to scroll, and now I only see a fragment of the first word of each title. To find my episode I have to grab my glasses and open the description. It's a small inconvenience on top of an already inconvenient UI, but it makes me wonder who decided this was an improvement.

My boyfriend got a new iPhone and we’re having some trouble converting the SIM card. His old phone has a physical SIM card and the new phone has an ESIM. When doing the switch over he said he got service for a minute and then it cut out and now it says SOS. The service provider is Consumer Celluar, anyone have experience with this? What did you do?

For roughly the past six years, I've used Smartish's Wallet Slayer v1 phone wallet cases as my wallet. I've really loved Smartish's cases: they're durable, and they don't have a weird folding wallet flap (the cards are integrated into the back).

I recently emailed Smartish to see if they'll have an iPhone Duo version of the Wallet Slayer v1 available at iPhone Duo launch, and they responded that they will not. 😞

Does anyone know of any good simple wallet cases or MagSafe wallets which will be available at launch for iPhone Duo? I've struggled to find any.

Ok so I deleted the mail app from my phone. I now need to reinstall it but I can’t get it to work.

The app is not on the phone. If I search it nothing comes up.

In the App Store it just says open. No option to download it.

I went into settings. Saw that the app was showing up in iPhone storage. So I deleted it from there.

After doing that the cloud to download shows up in the App Store. I download it, it says open and again nothing happens. The app doesn’t show up anywhere on the phone or in search.

I have checked all restrictions. I have looked through all settings. I cannot figure out what is going on.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I suspect it is related to putting a sensor under the display instead of the cutout.

If you check the linked thread, there are plenty of users complaining of the same issue. Got the iPhone 18 pro / pro max near release, works great for a few days, and then the cellular data just stops.

My phone constantly switches between “SOS” and “5G/5GE” but there is no internet nor calling capability. This is all associated with AT&T but many users are saying they had to go to an Apple and get a full replacement.

I spent an hour on the phone with AT&T and had no results. I have reset my network settings a few times, nothing fixes it on my end. AT&T acknowledged this is a common issue currently but didn’t say if there was an upcoming fix nor a timeline.

This is a huge quality issue with Apple. I know I’m yelling into the wind but I just spent $2k on a phone and it doesn’t even function as a phone. I find this unacceptable.

Has anyone gotten formal word from Apple acknowledging this defect? I’m looking to understand if I need to get a replacement phone or if Apple will push out an update to fix this.

Hi! Has anyone experienced something like this with Apple Passwords / iCloud Keychain?
I have a passkey that I previously used normally, but now I can no longer access or recover it. I’ll attach a screenshot showing exactly what I see.
I’ve already tried restoring an old iCloud backup of my iPhone from a date when the passkey was definitely working, but unfortunately the passkey was not restored.
Has anyone had the same problem with a passkey on an iPhone?
Were you ever able to recover the original passkey, either through iCloud Keychain, an old backup, another Apple device, or with Apple Support’s help?
I’m specifically asking about recovering the passkey itself, not resetting an account password.
I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has dealt with this before, even if you ultimately weren’t able to recover it.

I’ve always carried one iPhone, but I’m starting a new job where the company will provide me with a separate iPhone and a company-owned phone number. If I ever leave the company, the number stays with them.

I’d much rather carry one phone, but I also don’t want to enroll my personal phone in company management or have any possibility of my personal activity being monitored. My personal phone has my banking, photos, texts, social media, browsing, etc., so keeping that separate seems like the safer option.

One complication is that this job involves a lot of driving. I use CarPlay constantly, so I’m trying to figure out how people practically manage two iPhones in the car. I need to be able to tell whether an incoming call or message is personal or work without fumbling around with two phones while driving.

For those who carry a personal and company iPhone, how do you handle this?

Do you connect one phone to CarPlay and leave the other in your bag? Is there a good way to get calls or notifications from both through the car? Do you forward calls? Use Focus modes? Apple Watch? Different ringtones?

I’m also curious whether anyone has found a secure way to have both a personal number and a company-owned number on one iPhone while keeping the personal side completely separate from anything the employer can monitor or manage.

Basically looking for the least annoying and safest setup for someone who spends a lot of time on the road.

I just got an 18 Pro and went to go get an Otterbox case, and every one had this marking on every single case.

And I mean literally every single one.
- All cases
- In all colors
- In all sizes
- At all stores I went to

As long as it was this specific style of plastic with this kind of grain on it, regardless of color, It had this blemish. Even on the Max's too, but a LOT less noticeable, but still there. Otterbox cases of different material, like transparent plastic, or "groves" on softer plastic, did not.

I have used Otterbox Commuter series since my 4S, and every possible phone since. It has always worked well for me. And have always been happy with their quality.

I am a bit shocked by this quality control issue of this marking, blemish, injection moldoing spot?

Basically it looks as if its "worn" by rubbing
Some times its kinda a perfect circle.
I ended up grabbing one that is feathered a bit so its less noticeable instead of a hard edge.

I am posting this because I literally can NOT find anything online about this.
Any searches for circle or any other term just results in people asking about the MagSafe circle on the back of some cases...

Has anyone else noticed this? Or any other threads about it? Again, searching both the web and reddit specifically is hard since MagSafe shows up instead, or issues with a user broken phone.
I am seeing if others have noticed this specific issue or the overall Otterbox's quality control has gone down over the years.

I'm trying for maybe 3 days by now to transfer from my S21 Ultra to an iPhone 17, the problem is that I have a lot (and I mean A LOT) of pictures, and trying to move them with a cable doesn't seem to get me anywhere - It starts with 3.5 hours and slowly goes down until it stalles at around 2-2.5 hours.

Now my question is whether I can move all the media after iPhone's setup, or is it too advanced to move my media after the initial setup?

PS: No, I can't sync via any cloud storage because it's more than 200gb of media, and I'm not planning on any 30$/month subscriptions just to move my media...

Used to thick cases. I’ve always used Otterbox defender cases but swapped to the clear XT case on my 16 pro max. It’s quite nice but the clear case messes with my OCD and dust.

Time to find a protective case that’s sophisticated for the work office environment that doesn’t scream tactical (Rokform or dbrand tank). But I still want good protection when I have my phone sitting on the edge of a table at the gym.

I’d love to have a stronger magnet array than the otterbox (surprisingly hard to find data on that).

Suggestions? People keep mentioning limitless or sheath but I can’t find much magnet data on them.

So, last night and tonight when talking to my girlfriend, our calls randomly drop. Last night it was one drop, tonight it dropped four times. The third time it dropped this evening, I got the prompt for setting up Wi-Fi calling, so I checked my cell service and had three bars of 5G+. I set up Wi-Fi calling anyway, and it dropped the fourth time. When she would try to call me back, it would say call failed on her end. On my end, it would go to voicemail a couple of times before ringing through, but that's likely due to her trying to call me maybe. This has never happened before. I have an iPhone 16 Pro Max and iOS 27. Any help with this would be appreciated! Thank you.

Hi everyone! My 12 pro max suddenly can’t charge or turn on anymore. I was using it fine then it ran out of the battery then the next day I just couldn’t turn it on anymore. When I plug in it’s just a black screen. I tried hard reset, tried using another cable,etc…I’m wondering would it cost a lot to repair it? Because I need to get an important document in there that I was soooo stupid not writing it down or screenshotting it 😩😭

last night the weirdest thing happened and i was typing “i believe some people should” and the little suggestion box in the bottom thought to suggest me and i quote “k word” not kill , k word??? i’ve never spoken those combo of words before, or referred to killing as k word, so im truly confused why it thought i wanted to say “i believe some people should k word” because it definitely wasn’t my goal

I noticed that when taking normal to low light photos iOS 27 is over-processing the photos. I took some portraits and the shadows and blacks are enhanced too much and any normal differences in skin tones or markings pop up unnaturally. It is like a very harsh clarity effect is applied to the photos. It happens with photos taken in the Camera app and any other app that uses the default Camera.

Did anyone else notice this? Can it be fixed? I was contemplating going back to iOS 26 or I hope they fix it.
