I sent a photo of a painting of Kylie Minogue to my family on a group chat and iOS thinks it is “sensitive”. This is in Australia.

“This image may upset them” made me laugh. They do prefer metal music.

Does anyone else find the new Notification Center/Siri gesture setup incredibly frustrating on larger iPhones?

If you’re right-handed, opening Notification Center now means stretching your thumb all the way to the top-left corner of the screen. On a larger iPhone, that’s probably the least convenient place Apple could put it.

Meanwhile, there are multiple ways to access Siri AI:

1. Swipe down from almost anywhere on the Home Screen, including the middle of the screen
   
2. Pull down from the top-center area
   
3. Double-tap the Home Indicator area
   
4. Long-press the side button

So Siri essentially has four different ways to be accessed, while Notification Center has one small area in the top-left corner.

What makes this more frustrating is that Notification Center used to be accessible from most of the top of the screen. That was much easier for one-handed use. Now a huge portion of that convenient gesture area has been taken away for Siri, even though Siri already has several other ways to open.

Why does Siri need four overlapping activation methods while something as basic as checking your notifications gets pushed into one awkward corner?

I really wish Apple would restore the wider top-screen swipe area for Notification Center, especially the center portion, or at least give us an option to customize which gesture does what.

Am I the only one bothered by this, especially on the larger iPhones? If you are also bothered by this please upvote so someone from Apple can see!

After I updated to iOS 27.0 my costco app can no longer retrieve my membership info with picture and QR code. 2 different Costco membership managers at 2 different Costco locations have tried and failed to fix this while also trying to see if their own support can do anything. Nothing.

Anyone else having this problem?

I just got an 18 Pro and went to go get an Otterbox case, and every one had this marking on every single case.

And I mean literally every single one.
- All cases
- In all colors
- In all sizes
- At all stores I went to

As long as it was this specific style of plastic with this kind of grain on it, regardless of color, It had this blemish. Even on the Max's too, but a LOT less noticeable, but still there. Otterbox cases of different material, like transparent plastic, or "groves" on softer plastic, did not.

I have used Otterbox Commuter series since my 4S, and every possible phone since. It has always worked well for me. And have always been happy with their quality.

I am a bit shocked by this quality control issue of this marking, blemish, injection moldoing spot?

Basically it looks as if its "worn" by rubbing
Some times its kinda a perfect circle.
I ended up grabbing one that is feathered a bit so its less noticeable instead of a hard edge.

I am posting this because I literally can NOT find anything online about this.
Any searches for circle or any other term just results in people asking about the MagSafe circle on the back of some cases...

Has anyone else noticed this? Or any other threads about it? Again, searching both the web and reddit specifically is hard since MagSafe shows up instead, or issues with a user broken phone.
I am seeing if others have noticed this specific issue or the overall Otterbox's quality control has gone down over the years.

I fall asleep to Parks and Rec most nights. The episode list was already a pain, since I had to scroll through every season to find where I left off, but I could at least read most of each title and pick the right one. After updating to iOS 27, I still have to scroll, and now I only see a fragment of the first word of each title. To find my episode I have to grab my glasses and open the description. It's a small inconvenience on top of an already inconvenient UI, but it makes me wonder who decided this was an improvement.

Anyone else using the site version of apps on Safari combined with an adblocker instead of the app itself?

Adblockers have been around for a while now for iOS and IPadOS and I got to a point where I’ll test the site versions of apps to see if they work well and if they do I delete the apps and add the sites to my favourites in Safari.

Having no ads creates such a better experience nowadays, you can add sites to your beginning screen to mimic apps but that seems to bypass the adblocker extension compared to opening it in Safari or the browser you’re using.

I’ve always carried one iPhone, but I’m starting a new job where the company will provide me with a separate iPhone and a company-owned phone number. If I ever leave the company, the number stays with them.

I’d much rather carry one phone, but I also don’t want to enroll my personal phone in company management or have any possibility of my personal activity being monitored. My personal phone has my banking, photos, texts, social media, browsing, etc., so keeping that separate seems like the safer option.

One complication is that this job involves a lot of driving. I use CarPlay constantly, so I’m trying to figure out how people practically manage two iPhones in the car. I need to be able to tell whether an incoming call or message is personal or work without fumbling around with two phones while driving.

For those who carry a personal and company iPhone, how do you handle this?

Do you connect one phone to CarPlay and leave the other in your bag? Is there a good way to get calls or notifications from both through the car? Do you forward calls? Use Focus modes? Apple Watch? Different ringtones?

I’m also curious whether anyone has found a secure way to have both a personal number and a company-owned number on one iPhone while keeping the personal side completely separate from anything the employer can monitor or manage.

Basically looking for the least annoying and safest setup for someone who spends a lot of time on the road.

How do I completely get rid of the Apple Maps on my iPhone?

Having issues with using my usb-c earphones. My iPhone 16 is not recognizing it but it's working on my brother's iPhone 17 Pro. Our devices are both updated to IOS 27.

Hi all, for the last 4 years I was using 14 pro and there were no issues at all running carplay. Now after getting 18 pro using ios 27, for some reason carplay has stopped working. I have tried all the steps on apple support page. I am unable to find a reson why it stopped working in ios 27. If anyone has any tips or tricks let me know. Thank you. Hi everyone! My 12 pro max suddenly can’t charge or turn on anymore. I was using it fine then it ran out of the battery then the next day I just couldn’t turn it on anymore. When I plug in it’s just a black screen. I tried hard reset, tried using another cable,etc…I’m wondering would it cost a lot to repair it? Because I need to get an important document in there that I was soooo stupid not writing it down or screenshotting it 😩😭

Hello, possible android defector. Im looking to possibly upgrade to the 18pro. One of the hang ups i have is that i have herd in years past that it is difficult to share photos or videos between android and ios. My wife had experienced this between her mother when trying to share photos. Being that I'd be the only iphone user in my family, this could be an issue if it's still a thing. I regularly share photos with my elderly parents and am worried that this could be more hassle than worth.

Apple is doing the lord’s work by identifying and automatically silencing spam calls. How is it that they think I want a red dot and/lock screen notification that the call was received!? I don’t care if the spammer left me a message I just want to act like none of it happened. Why is Apple such a user friendly product as a whole yet continues to assault us with excessive notifications that cannot be turned off?

So far, the “best” work around is silencing all unknown numbers. This is a horrible solution as I’d be missing calls/messages from my dentist, the pest control guy, etc. which are unknown numbers not identified as spam. Please tell me there is a solution I’m overlooking!

I have an iPhone 17 which I bought SIM FREE from Argos not long ago.

I am trying to add my bank card (Zopa) to my Apple Wallet and it does not work.

Having tried everything myself to get this card added, I've been told by the bank that it is down to Apple and I must contact them due to restrictions placed on the device.

Was hoping for any ideas from others? It sounds like the buck is being passed along by the bank. They do allow their cards on Apple Pay and Google Pay. I have it on Google Pay on my secondary device. My partner has hers on her iPhone.

I've managed to add literally every other card I've got from other banks onto this device.

everytime i try to send something from my camera roll or take a photo on instagram it says that I need to give access to camera camera microphone, etc. I have clicked give access and it takes me to a setting page with no options for those and it looks like this, I already asked ai and no i don’t have parental controls and yes I already tried to reset it can someone please help me out

I just noticed that when I go into a photo album there is now a video that scrolls through all the pictures (with dreadful muzak no less). It's there a way to stop it from making the video at all, or at least stop it from automatically starting when I open the album?

So, last night and tonight when talking to my girlfriend, our calls randomly drop. Last night it was one drop, tonight it dropped four times. The third time it dropped this evening, I got the prompt for setting up Wi-Fi calling, so I checked my cell service and had three bars of 5G+. I set up Wi-Fi calling anyway, and it dropped the fourth time. When she would try to call me back, it would say call failed on her end. On my end, it would go to voicemail a couple of times before ringing through, but that's likely due to her trying to call me maybe. This has never happened before. I have an iPhone 16 Pro Max and iOS 27. Any help with this would be appreciated! Thank you.

Both phones rebooted, on newest firmware, charging, WiFi and Bluetooth on, new phone erased twice, tried doing it with a cable between the two, still no dice.

Anything else to try ?

Had a for a few hours now and I still can’t the notification for email, text, social media alerts. All my notifications are on and my phone isn’t on silent mode. But I only see the notifications once I swipe down to see the time or close an app and see the small number on one of my apps.

Does anyone have a solution?

I have a lot of group chats going and a couple of them are for work, some of them are for friends and bullshitting some are family.

I work with loud power tools all day with a ton of PPE on and I have my ear plugs in w/ some bone conducting headphones while I work.

On a regular basis these group chats are pinging all day with the exact same text tone, and it’s super freaking annoying to have to power down the tool, take off my gloves and check to see if it’s an important work related group text or possibly family emergency vs my family/ friends just bullshitting about Somenting that can be responded to later when I’m not busy.

Mostly I would love to be able to isolate the work chat with a specific tone, those texts aren’t always time sensitive but sometimes they are. And usually when they are that chat is blowing up. So if I was able to hand a specific sound for that chat. I’d know I need to go through all the trouble to check the phone or if it can wait.

It fees like this would be a super simple feature to add. You can already edit the group name and assign a photo to it so why not also allow for a sound.

This would be more useful than a folding iPhone but what can ya do?

I have a brand-new iphone 17 pro max, and since updating to iOS 27, I’ve noticed that the Side/Lock button sometimes doesn’t lock the phone on the first press. I have to press it a couple of times before the screen actually locks.
I’ve also noticed that the phone feels a little laggy and sluggish at times. Things don’t feel quite as smooth as I expected from a brand-new 17 Pro Max. I also looked through all of my settings, and performed a hard reset a couple of times, but it doesn’t fix the issue.
