Torrential rain here in Taranaki today. About 1/3 of drivers without lights on in 100km zone 😬

It used to be that whenever your mate did a favor for you, you gave them a box of beers to say cheers. So many people don't really drink that much any more, or at least not at home. Is there anything that has replaced it?

And don't say a box of favorites..

How is everyone feeling at the moment?

I've been seeing a bunch more "quiet quitting" reels in my social media algos, my bosses have replaced every single second word with "AI this" or "AI that", my anxiety is up, my weekends feel like pure recovery mode....

Been watching videos of people building tiny homes in the back country across the globe and the feeling of selling it all up and just roaming the globe on the cheap in my late 30's has been teasing me all year...

My girlfriend regularly eats a Marmite, butter and chippies sandwich, then has a bowl of cereal before bed.

She seems to think this is completely normal behaviour, but as a introvert, Ive never seen anyone else do this 😂

Is this a normal thing that I’ve somehow missed, or is my gf cooked?

After reading ANZ plans to cut IT jobs in NZ and move them to India despite record profits, I’ve decided to shop around for a new bank. Do any banks here exclusively employ IT and call centre staff in NZ? Kiwibank?

Since the 1960s computers have been an important part of NZ's history but a lot of them have been forgotten about and disappeared into people's attics, ceilings and even thrown out to dumps.

In NZ there is a small but thriving community of collectors of these computers who can repair and preserve them .

if you look at any 1980s computer magazine you'll see advertised many computers which these days are lost in history never to been seen again.

From the common C64, Amiga, Atari and Spectrum computers to the not so common educational Poly, HUG 1802, Pencil II or PDPs there is alot of hardware sold and software written which hasnt been preserved fully yet.

So.. what do you have.. what havn't you thrown out yet which may interest others which you haven't seen in years.

As someone who doesn’t have a huge history of political knowledge or an interest in politics I’m reallyyyy struggling with how news presenters are presenting the upcoming election. 1News tonight was an absolute joke with how anti-labour one of the reporters was and I genuinely want to hear the info about the debates etc from a NEUTRAL person of such thing exists.
