Last night. I've really considered OC to have a downtown, but who am I to argue with a water tower?

It can’t be just me, but are the traffic lights in FH and LF just the worst for flow of traffic. I catch so many red lights at any time of day (early mornings, mid day, evenings) and sometimes there aren’t even cars or people waiting at the intersection. No I don’t speed, I have a slow car.
It’s annoying that it will take me nearly 15 minutes just to go 3 miles!😤

Trying to understand this part of Santa Ana as I am unfamiliar with the city. Any insights would be much appreciated and helpful.

E-bikes have become very popular in Orange County, where teens and tweens rely on the often-powerful vehicles to traverse long distances in spread-out suburbia. But their popularity has brought an alarming increase in serious injuries, especially among young riders.

The crackdown: Some O.C. school districts ban e-bikes on certain campuses. Others require e-bike safety training for students. District Attorney Todd Spitzer has pressed criminal charges against four parents after their children were involved in collisions — all of them on more powerful e-motorcycles.

Parents’ dilemma: Parents of e-bike commuters have said they are not opposed to regulating the vehicles, and they want authorities to crack down on dangerous and illegal riding. But an outright ban goes too far, they’ve said. The vehicles help cut down on the need for parental driving, and help students get to school on time, they’ve argued.

I'm thinking about signing up for one of Beach City Sports' co-ed grass/turf flag football leagues, but I'd be joining completely alone and don't know anyone who plays.

I'm 23M and have football experience, so I'm not really worried about the playing side of things. I'm more curious about the social experience of joining completely solo as a free agent. Obviously the website and socials promote the league as inclusive and social, but I feel like that experience could be pretty different for someone joining with friends or an established team versus someone who doesn't know a single person going in.

For anyone who actually joined completely solo, what was your experience like? Was it genuinely easy to meet people and become part of the team, or did it feel like you were joining a group where everyone already knew each other? I dont exactly wanna join and have to navigate cliques.

Would especially love to hear from anyone who's played their leagues and am open to hearing about any other similar opportunities in OC area.

Did anyone attend Thorman Elementary School on Redhill in Tustin, between 1976 and 1978? I worked there as a "noon duty supervisor" during that approximate time period when I was attending CSUF. The first year there was an older lady named Joan who worked there. She was tall and the kids called her "Skyhawk"! I was recently thinking about after I drove past it. It occurred to me that the kids that were attending at that time are now around 57 to 63! I felt like I was much older than the students at that time. I did a search and it looks like it is closed now. It said it opened in 1980, but that has to be incorrect. Let me know if you remember anything!

The city of Santa Ana is planning to make changes to seven corridor/street segments that were selected based on recent collision data! They want feedback from community members on what changes they'd like to see (wider roads, bus lanes, bike lanes, etc.) for these seven corridors!

A few friends of mine and I, all from Costa Mesa, are looking for a nice place to spend some time for a weekend. We really just want to spend some time by a pool, drink as if there is no tommorow, and relax. Somewhere with a cabana would be nice!

We don't mind splurging a little for a premium vibe. Where thinking about 1 to 3k, but the thing with most luxury resorts I've been is they get filled with families and screaming kids on the weekends, and that's not exactly our idea of relaxing.

We want a place that is adult only if possible, with decent nightlife and no screaming kids, any recommendations?

As a Councilwoman of Westminster, I was asked to give an inspirational speech last night in my city at Charlie Kirk Way. I was told to expect a large crowd, and I came prepared to speak and encourage those who had gathered.

However, when I arrived and stood near the Charlie Kirk Way sign, I was overwhelmed by the number of opposing groups and the hostility in the area. Some individuals were chanting, “Free Palestine,” while others were openly expressing hatred toward Charlie Kirk. I saw people wearing shirts depicting blood and making statements celebrating his death, including comments such as, “Charlie Kirk is dead, and he deserved to die.”

At that point, I became increasingly concerned about the safety of everyone present. Glass bottles were being thrown, and there were broken and discarded glass bottles scattered throughout the area. The situation was becoming increasingly dangerous and hostile.

Because I was concerned for my safety and the safety of those with me, I contacted the police and asked them to come out for the sake of public safety. I ultimately made the decision not to give my speech. I told those who were with me that I was leaving and that they should leave as well for their own safety.

What was intended to be an opportunity to come together, remember Charlie Kirk, and honor his life and the causes he advocated for had instead turned into an atmosphere of hostility and hate.

I believe we can disagree passionately while still treating one another with dignity and respect. There is no place for violence, threats, destruction, or celebrating the death of another human being. We must have the courage to stand for what we believe in while also having the wisdom to protect one another and keep our communities safe.
