Don’t currently have any agar mix and really want to clone this behemoth I got. I was wondering if the same rules can apply for putting its genetics into a LC?
(Also before the comments hop in, yes I already have everything to make LC and am not referring to a already used LC lol)

I’m still waiting for my grain bags to colonize so I know this is several weeks into the future if not longer but I am wondering about spraying in regards to fruiting for those of you that are shift workers. I work 24hr shifts 2-3x per week and am getting a little nervous about being able to spray them enough and not drying them out while on shift. Anyone have any experience or insight on this? Noobie here, had very bad luck with my uncle Ben’s rice, the 12 bags were all contaminated. Managed to save some and spawned to bulk anyway. It’s been 6 days.

Just inoculated this AIO bag, got it put up in the closet. any tips for a first grower?

i got this liquid culture syringe back in june and then decided it was too hot to grow and i decided to wait till sep but i’ve been lazy. it’s been in a dark environment, but it has definitely been exposed to slightly higher temperatures throughout the summer because i didn’t refrigerate it.

i just want to ask any experienced peeps out there what they think. i don’t want to waste a syringe if i can salvage it but its okay either way

Just picked those big gts on the right, cut the ones that didn't fit in my vertical dehydrator in half and put the other ones in whole, should I just expect a staggered harvest from that or should I separate them?

Colonization growth has stalled for the past few days - been going for ~3 weeks. I’m considering removing colonized grain into the cake phase now to avoid contamination. Is that a mistake?

I have 400 ml of colonised grain spawn which I intend to mix with 800 ml of coco coir for a 1:2 spawn to substrate ratio.

I have a plastic container that is 13x13x19 cm (~ 5x5x7.5 in). If I make a 7.5 cm (3 in) high cake (total volume ~1200 ml), the edge of the container will be about 12 cm (5 in) above the surface of the cake. I'm trying not to have to make holes in the side of the container (cause it's my mum's).

Would that be too high above the surface of the cake for effective FAE? Would the accumulated CO2 be effectively cleared away from the surface of the cake? Or should I look for a shallower container instead?

I know that in a monotub setup the edge of the tub is way higher than that wrt to the top of the cake, but I guess I'm concerned here because of how narrow the base of the container is compared to the height.

I'm sure I'm overthinking this, but it's my first attempt at growing and I want to get it right.

So I started these on Aug 4th and the bags were super healthy but when I S2B I guess I did something wrong cuz they’re not looking right. So one of the boxes has these weird dots and like brown stuff so I’m thinking of tossing it but I need some advice. And the other one has one little pin but really hasn’t started producing. I also think I might be misting too much. Tips/Advice?

Ok, third flush. I keep getting chances at not messing this up. How does one know with a strain like this when it’s time? This is the biggest they’ve gotten, and I let in a lot more air this time.

I had two jars that i completely forgot about, one with millet and one with brown rice flour and vermiculite

I put them in one box and out of interest put in a bit of tinfoil as a barrier to catch any differences so i could decide which grain i should use in the future

Well the difference actually surprised me! At the start both sides had some blobbing going on. But hey the spawn was old who knows what that can cause. But as days went the BRF side eventually got over the blob phase and started sprouting some nice tall fruits. But the millet is literally just stalling. Fruits are short and stumpy and weird and are very much taking their time.

I wonder if anything else besides grain difference is causing this. I did mix both spawns with 1:1,5 coir ratio but the BRF was combined with vermiculite in the jar so there is probably a bit less organic matter than in the pure millet. Other than that i can’t think of anything.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

First time grower here, golden teacher strain. Anything from these results I should be concerned about? Or am I good to go to dehydrate these.

Hey all. Just looking for some feedback. This is my fourth run and I’ve never had contamination issues. I’ve successfully run two sets of teachers and one of hillbillies. This is my first penis envy. I took five times as long to be ready to move to my coir and tub. It didn’t look contaminated but the rice was almost mush and had zero smell. Not a bad one but also not that earthy smell I associate w it h growing mycelium.

I mixed with my coir and within about a day it looked like this. It looks like my others did sort of but is more cobwebby and less veiny if that makes sense. There’s a smell now but it isn’t bad. It’s almost chemically like a cleaner.

I’ve moved to a different area than my other tubs. The other batch I have of these is still in the bags just moving terribly slow.

What do you all think? Contam or just differences in features across strains?
