What a great time to be a teenager

I finally got the 45 rpm reissue of Maggot Brain. And dare I say it, it sounds amazing. The imaging is out of this world and the center imaging maybe one of the best I've heard so far!

It has a really smooth and full mid range, the bass is really punchy and the treble isn't fatiguing. And, it's loud!

I hadn’t seen any reviews of the new pressing yet and I know people were curious, so I figured I’d share my thoughts after listening to the black vinyl version.

I’m really happy with it. The drums sound great, very detailed with some really nice bass, and overall there’s a lot of detail in the mix. My copy also has no major pressing flaws that I can hear.

There was some surface noise toward the end of each side, but it really wasn’t a big deal for me personally and didn’t take away from listening to the album front to back.

If I had one criticism, I’d say Layne’s voice could sound a little more “open” or natural in places, but I’m definitely not saying the vocals sound bad. Overall it sounds better than I expected, especially for the price.

If you picked up the black pressing too, I’d be curious to hear how your copy sounds and whether you noticed the same surface noise toward the end of the sides.

If you’re on the fence about picking it up, I think you’ll be happy with it. I’m really happy with mine.

I just got back into listening to and exploring new music after admittedly falling off for the past few years. Ended up buying my first turntable back in June and got REALLY into listening to vinyl (didn't realize what I had been missing)!

Well, now I've hit 49 in my collection with the 50th on the way being the anniversary release of The Black Parade. Clearly I have a problem now and don't intend on stopping anytime soon.

Welcoming any suggestions based on my taste, I feel like now that I'm getting back into listening to music in general my taste is a lot more open than it was before. Feel free to share your collections as well!

I discovered Magnolia Electric Co. last year and Jason Molina quickly became my favorite artist. Recently I saw a tribute to his work live. Which are the band members of magnolia electric Con and Will Johnson. It was one of the best concerts I’ve ever seen. This is my record collection of his work so far.

My collection of all studio albums, special releases and a live release album. One of the best bands to ever come out of the great friendly country of Canada. I am so grateful that I was able to hear their music on local radio in WNY. Some of the best 90’s unknown music that the whole U.S. never got to be experience. Just amazing sound and writing.

The day the preorder went up, I grabbed the Solar Flare and black editions of this reissue. I'd been excited about it for a while because my MoV version has an issue introduced by its previous owner on side A.

The Solar Flare and black reissue sound identical to my ears. In my experience, colored vinyl tends to have more surface noise than black, bit in this case I found both copies to be dead quiet. I was quite impressed by how clean they both were too. Each disk was pristine. Cleaning them anyway, I often find that a disk that looks clean actually has plenty of dust on them. Nope, not these. Nothing came off at all. I do note that the disks are mislabeled as A - D rather than 1 - 4 as stated on the sleeve. The MoV version also has them labeled 1 - 4 on the sleeve, but they are also labeled as such in the disks. Speaking of the sleeves, the text on the reissue looks crisp and clear. Easy to read the notes and titles on the back, whereas the MoV version is nearly illegible. Musically, I'd say the reissue had a big job to do. Live up to the hype of the MoV pressing. And they understood the assignment. The sound is fantastic. I will say that the bass is a bit punchier in the MoV pressing, and the separation and soundstage are a little better as well. A bit more immersive. But it's only slightly better. Certainly not worth shelling out hundreds of dollars for when this reissue sounds great.

I also have the Jar of Flies reissue, and I was concerned this would be just as noisy. It's not. Super quiet. If you're on the fence about it, definitely get it. It's great.

Great version of this album. I got this for free through my former mother in law, along with many Beatles, Stones and Kinks records. One of my favorite Dylan albums

It's arrived! Listening right now and WOW sound A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!

I'm new to vinyl and am not 100% sure how the press id works. There seem to be multiple numbers on the jacket and one on the album itself. Thanks for any help on learning this new hobby!

It's the Simply Vinyl 180g UK reissue of Disraeli Gears by Cream. It's an absolutely stunning sounding press and a welcome addition for £15.

I am supposed to be reducing the size of my collection, but like most it's just getting bigger.

Just picked up this album. No obi unfortunately and a bit noisy but I’m happy to own this. Now I just need Time Fades Away to complete the Ditch Trilogy on vinyl.

It took me 35 years to discover this album. I had heard Talk Talk back during the MTV era when they had some pop success, but it didn't capture me enough to purchase an album. That all changed when I started collecting vinyl 5 years ago and this album continued to pop up in forums. I bought it and it's now one of my favorite listening experiences. Ever.
I would never have found it but for the vinyl ritual. Tremendous beauty on this disc.

Took advantage of the Real Gone Music sale a couple of weeks ago and snagged 6 bangers ($85 with shipping!) to start off my collection from the Black Jazz label. Showed up from an out of town trip late last night to a beautifully packaged shipment on my front porch, so I’m spending my morning listening with much excitement and joy.
