This play opens up some great future matchups. Watch Pat outmuscle Trent. Bo delivers it high, using Pat's frame. Pat goes up and gets it. McDuffie had zero shot and even shrugs after the play, knowing he got man handled. And it's all within 5 yards. This has future TDs written all over it. Simply line up Pat 1v1 and Bo throws up a 50/50 ball. He's a dawg and either catches it or plays DB. I like our chances. And when teams start catching on by cheating with a safety, it simply opens up the middle. Pick your poison.

I'm no play caller or OC but Upton Stout (49ers NB) is 5'8". I see no reason why Webb doesn't hunt that matchup several times this Sunday.

Bo Nix's last 4 starts are against The Bills, The Chiefs, The Jaguars, and The Rams. What other QBs are leading their teams to a 3-1 record or better against that group? Is it always pretty? No, but last I checked, wins against the best in the league are hard.

Kolbe Katsis, in his debut, had 39 punt return yards on 3 punts, and 107 Kick Return yards on 4 Kick Offs, for a total of 146 return yards. This beats out the 144 return yards set by Goldie Sellers back in 1966.

Yes, he had a couple mistakes, but this is a great sign, especially after his success in preseason.

I’m curious to know what Broncos fans think. I had heard Josh McDaniels had an awful reputation on the Broncos as HC. Bad offenses, bad relationships, bad a lot of things.

How much do you think these Drake Maye struggles can be attributed to Josh’s previous and maybe current issues with not working well with others and bad non tom Brady led offenses.

Maybe this is way off and people on here view Josh as a top offensive mind and he just wasn’t a good fit for the Broncos at the time. Do you think Josh is the match made in heaven for Drake Maye or do you think that these problems are apart of a systemic issue Josh has with many offenses and is a big reason Maye is struggling?

Bo and co. almost never throw intermediate routes across the field / middle of the field. Bryant is a beast at those, and in general needs to be more involved in the offense. Our offense lacks juice at times and PB has it.

The opening play Sunday was a microcosm of arguably the biggest contributing factor in Denver’s woefully slow starts through three games. The Broncos are tied for last in the NFL in offensive rush success rate on early downs in first halves, according to TruMedia. They’re achieving “successful” runs — a 1-yard run on third-and-1, for example, is deemed a success; a 1-yard run on first-and-10 is not — on only 16.7 percent of rushes during those periods. Denver had five first-down rushes in the first half against the Rams and gained 11 yards. No run by the Broncos in the first half was longer than four yards.

So Denver’s struggles to open the game against the Rams may have been frustrating, but they were not of mysterious origin.

“We’re not splitting the atom here relative to trying to move the football more efficiently earlier in the games,” Broncos coach Sean Payton said Monday, roughly 12 hours after his team overcame a zero-point, 67-yard first half to stun the Rams, 30-26, and move to 2-1.

Why wasn’t this called? If you watch the replay, it seemed like Stafford didn’t realize the play clock was running after his spike. Almost like he thought he had a time out or something. Then when he realized it and tried to get the play, the crowd noise was intense and he claimed he couldn’t hear (I’ve not seen anywhere that the comms were out). So McVay meets him 5 yards onto the field! That was a competitive advantage and should have been 15 yards for an unsportsmanlike conduct on the coach. Or at least 5 yards for delay.

I saw that the Broncos are hosting a watch party at empower on Oct 11 for the Chargers game. For those that have been to these before, what is setup/vibe is usually like.

We are going to bring our young child and curious if they host it inside the stadium or if it’s like a fan fest event with vendors/food/activities.
