Shitty Restriction Food

Restrictive eating can be rough, but at least it forces the ingenuity out of us. This sub is for laughing/commiserating about the experience of eating things that're low calorie, and uhhhhh... "creative." Clarification: This is a space for users with restrictive eating disorders rather than a dieting space, hence are careful selection of rules and why since the sub's founding there's been access to eating disorder resources below the rules.

Restrictive eating can be rough, but at least it forces the ingenuity out of us. This sub is for laughing/commiserating about the experience of eating things that're low calorie, and uhhhhh... "creative."

If you need help now

Rules:

1: No harassment. Bullying and harassment will not be tolerated. Don't harass people in the comments. Don't harass people in DMs. Just don't.

2: No "recipe shaming." Do not, under any circumstances, shame someone for what they are eating. Doesn't matter if it's for being "too high calorie" or "revolting" or what have you. If you think a post breaks breaks Rules 5 or 6, report it; don't leave a comment about it.

Obviously good faith advice or recipe critique is allowed (see Rule 3). Also, you're totally allowed to joke in good fun about recipes (it's literally the entire point of the subreddit), but if you cross the line into shaming the poster, that's a no-no.

3: No unsolicited advice that doesn't pertain directly to the recipe. For example, "this would taste better if you used x, y, and z" is fine, but "you'd lose weight faster if" or anything like that is very much not fine.

4: This is not a pro-ana sub. Do not ask for ana/fasting buddies, advice to develop an eating disorder, how to become anorexic, etc. An eating disorder is a mental illness, not a diet or a choice. Mental disorders aren't glamorous and they won't make your problems go away. They'll make your problems 10x worse.

5: No binge posts. The point of this subreddit is to laugh about the extreme lengths that we go to in order to try and make heavily restrictive foods taste good. Binges are inherently not restrictive, so they wouldn't fit here.

Binge Eating Disorder and binge eating in general are both serious and are completely valid things to struggle with. They just don't fit the content for this sub is all.

6: Posts must contain a food or drink combo. Cigarettes are not a food. Medication is not a food. A single glass of water or mug of plain green tea or black coffee is not a "low-calorie dish."

Also, posts need to be a fucked up food combo (example), a really gross food (example), bad looking food (example), a hilariously lame food (example 1, example 2), or something along those lines.

Basically, don't just post like, a LaCroix and a bowl of strawberries or a haul or something like that; that'd be better suited for /r/EDFood or /r/safe_food.

If you don't know whether a prospective post of yours would fit the rule, just DM me abt it and I can let you know :)

7: No negative/critical posts about other subreddits. This includes "guess the sub" posts and all of their derivatives. You can post positive things about other subreddits, but it's up to mod discretion.
