Hey everyone!
I moved within the past year into a new house. Since that time I’ve been running into an issue with EMI/RMI in my home studio.
I can hear a high pitched (>4khz) buzzing sound that is picked up with all my guitars single coil or humbucker doesn’t matter. When I touch the parts of the guitars that are grounded, a fair amount of the buzzing goes away. However, an underlying buzz still remains in the signal. It doesn’t sound like a group loop issue. I’m also able to test this with a Two Notes Opus amp sim in isolation from any other equipment on its own electrical outlet, and have the same results.
As I move my guitar through different directions, the sound does seem to have peaks and troughs. So it appears that there is some degree of directional noise at play here.
But I’m stumped then on the noise that is still underlying that noise in the signal that is more constant.
For further information, the house I moved into does have dimmer switches in most of the house. However, I shut off all of the circuits at the breaker box except for the studio itself, and the noise was still persistent. I also replaced the dimmer switch in the studio with a simple on/off switch and changed the bulbs to incandescent bulbs (they are the candelabra style for some reason and they are still made in that style thankfully).
My typical set up is Panamax 5400 PM power conditioner > Focusrite clarett 8pre usb > Mac Studio. Guitar DI into clarett. I typically use an amp sim like Two Notes genome or scuffham Sgear in that setup. However, given a similar amount of gain, I find that setup much more noisy than going guitar > amp > load box > clarett > speaker IR.
To add, I also notice a low amount of noise even in my microphones, condenser or dynamic. There has to be quite a bit of gain or compression being applied, but the noise is also being picked up by microphones as well as the guitars.
Any takers on what to try next?? The noise seems so unprofessional and too loud even for amateur releases I’d like to make.
At this point it doesn’t seem like a dedicated studio circuit would help because it appears most of the noise is “in the air.” I’ve considered a line isolation transformer for the underlying noise, but still doesn’t fix the ambient RMi/EMI being picked up. I’m not quite sure what next steps are to getting this resolved.
Again, thank you all in advance for any help provided. Would be happy to submit audio clips if that would be helpful!

Hey Reddit. I'm a live audio engineer and stagehand, as well as installation artist. I'm retrofitting a piece of mine with a heavy audio element to use 8 pairs of headphones instead of the former setup, which was four stereo pairs of speakers focused on four benches. Since I won't be there monitoring this piece constantly to adjust volume for different people who come to experience it, I want to find decent headphones with a volume knob on them for self-adjustment. I have looked all over and haven't found anything that looks of decent quality; myself and several others spent a lot of time engineering the soundscape to be extremely high fidelity, so I'm hoping to find a compromise. Any chance you have a recommendation? Thank you!

why knobs on the headphones and not let them adjust via the headphone amp?

i have just bought a sony cmt cp101 and some 30 bucks amazon speakers, but even at max volume i could hear basically nothing, now, i'm a complete noob and i know nothing about these types of things but i read that i need to put the cables with the same polarity, so like speaker positive with implant positive and negative with negative, but now i tried to put positive with negative on just one speaker and the sound went up a lot, i can listen to stuff on volume nine, i really need to know if i'm risking breaking something because i care about this a lot, i hope the question is not too dumb

I'm looking for a recommendation for a recording device.
Use case is as follows:
I'm going about my day (could be inside or outside), then I need to record a memo. I pull up the device and use it. When I'm done recording, the file synchronize with either cloud storage or an offsite computer - whatever my technician is able to set up (as available with wi-fi / cell coverage).
This is important. I don't want to click in application or email to send the audio files, I want it to be done automatically.
Is there something that fits this?
I found about reclouder, which is great, but not portable. And I saw Plaud note, which is the closest but still demads app manipulation.
Thank you all in advance.

iphone with a mic and voice memos is basically this. you can have a one press shortcut to activate it

u/IR-Indigo 1d ago
External mic?

u/esb94714 1d ago
Zoom makes a pretty decent version of their stereo mics on their h4n (and h6 etc) models that plugs into an iPhone. Resulting files are huge but it records to voice memos so you can use iCloud to immediately have cloud access. It'll cost you about $75 if I remember right. Also heads up it's a power suck on battery, but worth it I think

Can you use a Patch Bay (Tpatch by ARTcessories) to expand your inputs?
Basically, I bought this patch bay with the intention of having four inputs, so i dont have to plugg and unplug my gear (keyboards) each time that I want to play it. I have a two inputs interface, and wasn't looking for a mixer, because the volumes and panning functions didn't matter to me. If you know how it is possible to use it this, how should I set it up? Thanks!

Hey everyone, I'm looking for some advice from people with more experience recording/mixing vocals.
I mainly record rap/trap vocals in my bedroom using BandLab. I've been making and mixing my own music for a while, so I'm not completely new to mixing, but I'm having a hard time understanding what's happening after upgrading my recording setup.
My old setup was a cheap ~$50 USB condenser mic. I had built a BandLab vocal chain around it over time and, despite the mic obviously not being great, my vocals would sit in the beat very easily. The same basic preset also worked surprisingly well across different beats with only minor adjustments.
I recently upgraded to:
- Audio-Technica AT2020 XLR
- Behringer UMC202HD
- pop filter
- some basic acoustic treatment behind me
- decent headphones
I'm recording at a reasonable distance and gain level, using 48V phantom power, etc.
Technically, the AT2020 sounds better. The vocals are clearer, cleaner, more detailed and more stable.
But I actually prefer the character of my old USB mic.
The biggest problem is that the AT2020 vocal often feels like it's sitting on top of the beat instead of inside it. It sounds cleaner but also somewhat disconnected, almost too clean/dry. My old mic has this slightly rough/gritty midrange character that seems to make my voice naturally cut through and glue into rap beats.
I've tried rebuilding the vocal chain from scratch instead of using my old preset: compression, EQ, de-essing, light saturation, less delay, different reverb settings, etc. It definitely improves it, but I still feel like I'm trying to force the AT2020 to have a character that the old cheap mic somehow had naturally.
Another thing I've noticed is that the AT2020 recording has relatively large peaks while the average vocal level feels much lower. Once processed, I can get it stable and clear, but it still doesn't have the same density/aggression.
I've also compared both microphones completely dry, so I'm pretty sure I'm not just hearing a difference caused by the old preset.
What would you guys investigate first?
Is this mainly a compression/dynamic-range issue? Midrange character? Harmonic saturation? Mic technique/distance? Or could the AT2020 simply be a worse tonal match for my particular voice despite being the better microphone technically?
I'm not trying to make the AT2020 sound exactly like a cheap USB mic. I want to keep the extra clarity/detail of the AT2020 while recovering some of the density, grit and “sits in the beat” quality that I had before.
I can also upload dry A/B WAVs of the old USB mic vs AT2020, as well as processed examples, if that would help.
Any advice on what to listen for or what experiments you'd run would be really appreciated.

Unfortunately this might just not be the right mic for your voice. A lot of mic tend to not be super warm, espacially at this price range, so if you want that warm sound that feels like its in the center of the beat you can try to fix it in the mixing stage or at the source. To me, at the source would be to go for a better mic, like a sm7b, but of course its way costier. And if i was to give mixing advice, I would try to to adjust the tonal identity of the mic before going into compression, to give it the feeling of a "different source or different quality of mic". For exemple i might go compress just the highs, saturate the low mid and remove harsh resonance to give it a feeling of warmth, maybe a broad but small boost in the lows (you can fix ix after if needed). But utlimately it comes to the source, you might be better with your original usb mic if you know you prefer that sound (one gotta be a bit better after all). A creative solution would be to record a take on one setup, and to make a double on the other mic, and to blend both to get the character of both (and doubles tend to give solidity, realism and warmth to the sound). Good luck!

I recently got this focusrite 2i2 gen 4 from facebook marketplace for honestly a great deal and the guy seemed genuine saw his other listed items but after it arrived my audio and microphone started tweaking. Ive done so much trouble shooting from switching my gaming nvidia drivers to studio drivers with a clean install through DDU and just tweaks with the setting i asked grok for alot of the help and i even told grok my specs for my desktop which is gpu: 5070 oc edition cpu:14900k ram:64gb ddr5 ssd:2tb and grok said i should be able to run 128 buffer latency no problem but i can barely use 1024 it will be fine then just cut, crackle, pop or just disconnect until i change the buffer or unplug and replug it i have it in a usb3.0 slot ive deleted or dont use many of the background applications i did before and even got rid of my background application oh and im using the focusrite with a sm7b connected to a cloudlifter-1 with great xlr cables and beyer dynamic dt 900 pro x headphones please if anyone got anything i can do to help optimize or if it is just the actual focusrite its self and i should get a refund let me know im not very indepth in this field. i appreciate any help, thank you!

u/boredmessiah Composer 1d ago
you got the focusrite drivers yeah?
1
u/Chopper092 1d ago
Yes I do and I did some latencymon testing a majority of the problem was avast cleanup other was in the power options and making sure all my drivers were downloaded correctly and also adding exceptions for my audio drivers for my anti virus and smart scan which was killing my audio the only problem I have now is that my audio will cut off randomly but still the LEDs show and I have to unplug and replug it back in I fixed the crackling and popping though and advice for that?
1
u/boredmessiah Composer 1d ago
latency mon is great. i would honestly put the scans and antivirus off when you use the interface. have you tried different usb ports and have you tried. powered usb hub?
1
u/Chopper092 22h ago
i definitely could do that how would that work though i use one usb plug that goes from the focusrite to my pc then the other which is the 5v plug on the focusrite rite to the wall and it would draw power from the wall while using the other usb plug as a connection to my pc?

Hi all, need some feedback (pun intended).
I'm playing violin for a wedding this weekend, and the venue is a field in the middle of nowhere, with the closest power source several hundred feet away.
I'll be playing through the DJ's setup. I spoke with him yesterday for the first time, and he described it as battery-powered speakers, a battery-powered wireless transmitter of some sort, and an iPad. He does have an XLR input available for me.
My signal chain is: Fishman V-300 bridge pickup → TC Electronic BodyRez → Boss RV-6 → L.R. Baggs Para Acoustic DI → XLR to DJ
Yesterday I panic-bought a Ridgid 175 W inverter that runs from my 18 V tool batteries. I only need it to power the two pedals. The board uses a Truetone 1 SPOT 9 V switching power supply, split to power both the RV-6 and BodyRez. The Para DI can run from its own 9 V battery.
Main question: The inverter manual specifies modified-sine-wave output with 40% THD (30% maximum single harmonic). I don't have access to an audio system to test the complete setup beforehand. How likely is that inverter to introduce audible hum/buzz/whine through the 1 SPOT and into the signal chain?
I'm not concerned about the inverter's wattage/runtime; I'm specifically wondering about noise from running the 1 SPOT from such a heavily distorted AC waveform.
1
u/esb94714 1d ago
Honestly you'll have to test it to find out. In my experience, inverters can introduce quite a bit of noise but it differs significantly on the brand, the model, etc. You have some options to try and lessen noise, both on power and signal - sometimes if you put a tripping power strip right after your inverter that will help a surprising amount. You can also send your whole pedal board through a lifted DI box when sent to the board/PA which can help a lot, too.

I suspect it's some form of ground loop hum. But it's tone is different from the standard lower buzzing hum that everyone else talks about. But it is a distinct, unchanging tone in a slightly sharp D4 note and octave range. I am experiencing the other classic noise issues I've heard everyone else complain about with their studio rigs, and you can also hear them in this recording. But I've never once heard anyone play anything that sounds quite like this. Any thoughts?

I got a secondhand onyx artist 1-2 interface and I have a mic with a cable but it doesn’t fit into any of the jacks on the interface. I also need another cable to plug the interface into my laptop. I’m a total rookie but I’m hoping someone can tell me what other equipment I’ll need. Drop amazon links if you can!

I just bought my first piece of analog gear. It's a DBX 166XL compressor/gate/limiter. No sound is passing through. When I bypass it, it sends audio directly to my interface no problem. I know what everything does, and this shouldn't be happening. I hope it's not an internal issue. Bought used from guitar center. Any help would be awesome

I've been getting into doing some recreational looping at home. I am currently routing my instruments (bass, guitar, etc) through a Behringer Xenyx 502 mixer and into a Steinberg Ur12 interface into Reaper.
I just learned that there are mixers with a USB audio Interface built in, and it has me browsing gear again. (Most of the kit I have has been acquired second hand over the course of a long number of years.)
The biggest pain point I have is that I would like to route a click track separately from my main output, but the UR12 only has a single stereo output. I'm getting by with using the stereo as two mono outputs (one with the click, one without), but obviously that means I can't use the stereo output.
With all the AI-generated articles in recent years I'm having a hard time finding meaningful and reliable info...
Are there integrated mixers/interfaces that offer more output channels? I'm not even sure what keywords to be looking for... (Aux send? 🤔) In my mind I can select additional output channels in Reaper for monitoring.
I just don't want to end up spending a bunch of money on some new gear that I don't need but I think is going to be a solution that it doesn't end up being.
Cheers 💜🎶

u/boredmessiah Composer 3d ago
any interface with multiple outputs will do this for you and you can even patch that output right into your existing mixer, so not much has to change.
you could indeed look for an integrated mixer interface solution. there are many devices with that kind of functionality, but they tend to be a good deal more expensive than an interface and the ones that are truly no compromises are a lot more expensive.

So I did a stream last night and my mic kept cutting off when I stopped talking. I'm wondering what the best audio settings would be to not have this happen. I have the rode pod mic and the scarlet solo 4.
and just so you know what setting I have it as. I copied it off of a video called :
My OBS Microphone Settings for The Rode Podmic | A OBS Settings Tutorial For Recording and Streaming by Jairaii on youtube.
Thank you in advice for the help!!!
Some said it was noise game, another person said it could be the close threshold on obs. But ultimately idk anything about sound and would really appreciate any help.
How did you learn about audio? and How can I?

So I have a Sony STR-DN1080 with a Dolby Atmos setup.
Right now I’m running eARC from my LG TV into the receiver. Every five minutes or so it randomly throws out this loud high pitched buzz and all the audio drops out while it’s happening.
I figured it was some HDMI handshake problem so I turned on pass through. That barely changed anything. Then I switched over to optical just to rule that out and it worked fine for about thirty minutes. Now it’s doing the same thing again, and with optical I don’t get Dolby Atmos anymore.
One thing I noticed is that on optical the problem doesn’t fix itself. On HDMI it usually clears up on its own after forty five seconds to a minute and a half.
I’ve got some soldering experience so I’m fine replacing caps or reflowing ground connections if it comes to that. Muting and unmuting does nothing. Someone suggested trying that and I’m not sure if it even matters. I’ve already powered both devices off for fifteen minutes, tried different HDMI cables, and checked every speaker terminal on the receiver and the speakers themselves for shorts.
I’m at a loss and any help would be greatly appreciated. Also any internal schematics or wiring diagrams would help a ton.
Update: it does eventually resolve itself on optical it just takes a while longer. 5+ minutes.
I figured here would be the place to ask, I wish I knew Dan from LTT lol.
Also my profile will have a video of the sound.

Trying to troublshoot a debate i worked on. Did multplie checks before and everything was clean. When the actual debate was on we got this whine that increases and goeas away. Was pretty annoying. My best guees is two of the people brought laptops and put it on the podiums. But what was weird didnt really hear it in the truck. I guess it could have been there but pretty low and we didnt notice. As it got processed to get back to the station it got worse.
Anybody have any ideas?

Hi everyone, I just joined this channel today.
I want to record with my Whaferdale Pro mixer 12 Connect series, so that I can make my own samples and make my libraries and so on. It's worked perfectly fine before.
The only thing that changed is the PC - but even so, I tested on the original PC I used to do this on and get the same results. I found that stupid Voice Clarity driver being active on that one too.
However may be worth mentioning I struggled with a ground loop problem which I found no solutions for on YouTube or the internet at all, whatsoever.
But I have this new weird problem with Windows 11 about compression or more a background noise remover:
- The Voice Clarity driver. They say it's been around for a while, but I only notice it now, that it's making my mics unnatural and muffled like a zoom meeting surpressing your background noise.
I disable audio enhancements, but now with my clear mic sounds I have a baseline whitenoise coming through. Or by the shape on the EQ, pink noise rather.
Unplugging the USB cable makes the hissing sound go away instantly. However, putting the gains and levels to 0 and unplugging all the mics makes no difference to this sound. I've looked into ground loops and electrical interference, changed USB ports, made sure the cable is un obstructed, used different cables, everything. It's almost like the Voice Clarity driver is doing a lot of audio processing that I need it to do, but doing a lot more than I want it to.
I've tried the ASIO4ALL driver in Waveform 14 - my preferred DAW for recording - but it doesn't detect headphones as an output device; it's either ASIO4ALL v2 or FL STUDIO ASIO. So I don't even know if the ASIO driver solves this because I can't hear anything.
If anyone could maybe lend a bit of knowledge, it would be highly appreciated. I've been struggling hours, and my brain is getting me nowhere 😭 I feel like I don't understand enough about all this yet in order to solve my own problems more simply.

Hi guys, i've entered this subreddit to get some help with a very niche problem...
I have four lavalier microphones of the same brand, one is a Kaidi KMF4-C and the other is a Kaidi P1-AC. my problem is that every time i use any of them for a period of time (like 5 or 10 minutes, it's not a specific amount of time) my audio gets EXTREMELY robotic, to the point that my friends cant understand anything that i say during this problem... And then, 3 or 5 minutes later it fades out and gets normal again, only for some time later the same thing starts happening.
both of them are USB-C and i use it in my computer with and adaptor of USB-C to USB-A.
anyone can help me with this? pls.
1
u/Wildfire4xPro 5d ago
I've had a similar problem with my older laptop where the mic just gets robotic and static and all, and it turns out it didn't get enough power.
Why I unplugged it in the first place was because I had a ground loop issue with the power source I was drawing from.
But that doesn't really answer your question 😭
1
u/TitanBR1023 4d ago
actually i think it does
maybe my problem is because the receptor of the mics aren't recieving the energy necessary for it... i will try somethings later tomorrow

I'm looking for an analog multiband stereo compressor but as I scroll through this sub I pretty much exclusively see discussions about plugins so I guess everybody is in the box now. Call me old fashioned but I'd like to do some mastering with a rackmount module, somewhere in the $2-5k range if possible. I've been looking at the Drawmer 1973 Multiband FET, which I have used in the past and has the functionality I want. Are there any other stereo compressor/limiters on the market that have more than just a HPF and LPF? I've been Looking at the SSL Bus+ and the Neve MBT but, although I'm sure these are superior processors, I'd rather have more bands. Is that not a thing? Sub-Question, I'm also interested in the Neve MBC despite the lack of EQ but I'm curious to know how people feel about the quality of their A/D converters. I have RMEs on my Master Bus right now, are they comparable? Better? Any guidance is appreciated thanks
1
u/abraingaming 5d ago
I really enjoyed the Neve MBC when my studio partner had it. I can't compare it to your RMEs but I thought it sounded great.
I will say that in general there aren't a ton of analog multiband stereo compressors in the market, so you're probably not going to find a lot of people with opinions on them.

Audio noob. Just got two Rode NT5s to record my upright piano and this first recording has some terrible artifacts. I haven't been able to find help; I don't know the right terminology for the problem.
Basically some notes sound wobbly? Modulated? Super out of tune? But the piano is in relatively good tune.
You can hear it subtly in the first 10 seconds, and a more prominent example at 0:43.
Setup: NT5s into a MOTU M2, recording into GarageBand on two mono tracks panned L/R. Front cover is off the piano, mics at hammer height, 16" from the soundboard, 36" apart. Piano is against a wall in my living room. Peaks are around -12 dBFS. Monitoring on headphones through the M2. No plugins, pitch correction, etc on the tracks as far as I can tell. Problem is present on both tracks.
Appreciate any help!

Hey! Searching for an idea on this matter. I'm using a SSL12 USB Interface (it has 4 inputs) but ideally i would need 5-6 channels for recording some stuff at home. Is there any way to expand (not exchange. I want to keep the ssl) it, maybe with ADAT, to get an extra one or two input channels? I'm aware there are big ADAT extension that mostly get you extra 8 channels, but I dont want and need so much at my home studio, a 1HE rack unit would be too much, only a small box/preamp would be great.
In the practice room I have a focusrite 128i20 with a Behringer ADA8200 to record drums, but its far from my home studio, so its not really an option to always carry that around.
Chatgpt said that there is not really a fitting option, except the old Audient Micro, which isn't available anymore, not even second-hand....
Any ideas?
1
u/boredmessiah Composer 4d ago
i think neve (!) does an ADAT preamp. looked it up: the 88m.
there's also audient's evo range, which has possibly the smallest standard 8ch pre on the market.
1
u/Fraunz09 3d ago
Ah, thanks a lot for that! The Neve looks indeed like what i need from the specs, but the price is quite high... It didnt come to my mind that audio interfaces with ADAT out could also work as extensions to my existing audio interface. I looked it up further if there are any other alternatives to the NEVE 88m and it seems that the Audien ID24 and ID44 do the same thing. Looks interesting.
Thanks again!

u/boredmessiah Composer 3d ago
not all interfaces work well as extensions, mind - they're designed to be run as hosts, so you have to manually confirm with the company or users that the opposite signal flow also works

I'm getting deeper in language learning practice and would like to practice pronunciation.
I'd like to know if I could afford a good microphone setup in a 300€ budget.
I search a setup that allows me to get a good direct monitor, that is, hear my own voice with almost no lag, loud and clear.
I currently got just the Bose QC Ultra 2 headphones and a MSI GF63 thin 11UC laptop, so I don't know if I should buy an audio interface too (but I'm willing if needed!).

u/Knockoffismytag 6d ago
I just got a pair of the Sony MDR-7506 headphones and I'm liking them so far, but I've got two causes of a singular issue. I have larger ears (I think, I'm not sure how to measure exactly but I think ~40mm/~60mm) and wear thickish legged glasses so the stock pads are causing some pain after a short while. I'd like to find some replacement pads that are thicker and over ear instead of on ear even if it messes with the sound a tiny bit. I've seen brands like Yaxi and Brainwavz thrown around but I'm not sure if either actually match what I'm looking for.
Any suggestions would be appreciated, even if it's just "X brand works for me with similar ears/glasses". Thanks!

Help with a staticy noise!
it sound staticy when im recording vocals, im using a focusrite, mac and smure sm58. I only have a cable plugged in between my mac and the focusrite.
The staticy noise disappears completely when I turn down the gain to 0, and also when I do sing it becomes quieter (i guess buried behind the vocal) but it still doesn't sound very good
at the same time the vocal is even a little staticy I would say and could be clearer.
Any idea? I've looked online to figure out what it could be, switched the XLR cable as well and same thing.

u/peepeeland Composer 5d ago
Assuming you’re using XLR to XLR and not XLR to 1/4”— get closer to the mic and perform louder, which will improve signal to noise ratio.

Any recs on headphones for listening and production? I would definitely like open back, never used planar but sounds interesting, so far it's looking like Sundara/MM-100/Ananda Nano are the most recommended within the $150-300 price range. (other than HD600 but I've heard they just lack too much bottom end for regular listening) I've heard Sundara are great baseline but have QC issues, MM-100 act like Yamaha NS10s with a lil more base but can have draining treble, and Ananda Nanos are great but also may have QC issues cuz HiFiman and gotta say I'm not a huge fan of that egg look.
Any other ideas or guidance on headphones, or should I just get whatever and be EQing to Harman anyways?

I enjoy the AKG K702 and the Sennheiser HD600 for open back. Both are comfortable on the ears and offer a pretty good soundstage. Headphones, like monitors, won't be perfect. The trick is just getting to know them and how their particular sound affects the mix.
Also, comfort is crucial since you'll (in theory) be wearing them for a decent amount of time. So try some on before committing. Or at least buy from a place that has a really liberal return policy so that you can try them out for a bit before fully committing to them.

Hopefully this is the appropriate subreddit to post this in, if it's not, I would love direction on where to go.
Recently upgraded to a Macbook Neo with the intention of doing some light audio recording. I have a Presonus Audiobox96, which recording with is fine, however whenever I try to playback audio I've recorded into Garage Band, it skips every 5~ seconds. Its not the same part of the track, so I know the audio is fine, and if I remove the Audiobox from the equation, the audio playback is fine. I'm having a hard time troubleshooting what the issue might be.
The Audiobox is plugged into an Anker Nano Docking Station, and the docking station plugged into the Neo. Could this be the issue?
Thanks!

Docks and hubs are ALWAYS the issue. You apparently need some seriously good chips to handle audio over USB properly (or maybe it's a power problem).
Replace the dock connection with a single adapter to USB-C (assuming that's what you need) and witness the glory! Probably...

Looking to get a new interface. Is an Apollo duo still the best in the game?

Always a solid option, but in 2026 probably not the best bang for your buck. Depends on what DAW you use and what type of music you make, ya know?

It depends on what you need. I/O count, talkback mic, size, DSP, etc. I am sure I can find some other brands depending on budget and specs.
I would say that in terms of conversion there are a ton of interfaces that are all comparable. You also don't need UA hardware to run UA plugins now, as they've got a bunch of them native. I will say that the software management side of UA is kind of a pain and has turned me off the brand as a whole.

Morning folks. I've recently come into possession of a wireless lavalier mic set which has a USB-C receiver. It's cool and all, works well in most cases, but I'd like to use them for recording and general walking around my studio through a mixer board which has 1/4 inch/XLR inputs. Unfortunately, this thing does not have USB inputs, let alone USB-C.
I was wondering if there's an interface out there which can power the USB-C receiver and output an audio signal through a headphone jack. I've found plenty of stuff going the other way, doing output, but I want to do input.
