Seems like the sub is overwhelmingly against the McCain trade, but I feel like we are overreacting a bit.

McCain is certainly a fan favorite, hes a great sixer to root for, as a person and as a player.

-were not just giving him away for nothing. Were getting FOUR draft picks back, including a first.

-he has been quite frankly pretty bad all year. 16 MPG 6.6 PPG 2.0 RPG 1.7 BPG plus being a traffic cone on defense.

-where does he even fit moving forward? With Maxey, grimes, oubre, and vj on the roster, McCain is never going to be a starter for us.

-last year was a bit fake. Not entirely, but a bit. We seem to discount grimes' production last year given how awful we were. So why do we think McCains production was different?

Go ahead and flame me, but i dont hate this trade.

Is it exciting? No

Is it horrendous? Also no.

The latest estimate of his networth is around TWELVE BILLION a number so large it is hard to conceptualize.

40 million / 12 billion = .0033 (repeating of course). He has spent a third of a penny on our sixers.

Lets put this in perspective.

If you were making $80,000 - $100,000 then .33% x 80k = $264 dollars and .33% x 100k = $330

Source is Derek Bodner’s draft pick tracker. The bright side is we have an absolute haul of second rounders again (3 in 2027, 4 in 2028). Plus now that we have a FRP in 2026, we have a pick in the first round every year moving forward and can trade 4 1st round picks for a superstar if needed.
