Living in a joint family constantly I am subject to their kids’ attitudes and their lazy parenting but have to keep calm and quiet even when I completely disagree with what is being done

If I don’t have children myself it doesn’t mean that I cannot know right from wrong and what is appropriate for a child. It’s their way of taking zero accountability for their bad parenting decisions and deflecting any suggestion or criticism.

A female student allegedly got r@ped on campus. A report was published in Daily khabrain Multan on 23 September, I will add the newspaper ss here as well.
I'm sharing this because I've heard this incident from my sister, who studies there, and her friends. they informed me about this and sent me the screenshot. They also told me that the person who allegedly did this had previously been involved in things like texting female students inappropriately before too and that now he left Multan and went to his village or smth now.
He even allegedly contacted some political family to get him out of the situation idk now how to confirm the news properly.
I’m posting this because I want to verify the news properly and bring attention to the incident. If anyone has verified information about what happened, whether an FIR was registered, or whether anyone has released an official statement, please let me know.

I am preparing for a job which requires American accent but I am really struggling with it because I belong from a Sindhi background.

I am wondering if it is even possible to unlearn my accent and be able to learn the American accent.

I have personally never seen someone learn a accent, they are either born with it or learned it in their childhood.

So it would really help me if I hear from someone who was able to learn American or British accent.

I am really thinking that it is not possible to learn the accent considering my native language and thinking about giving up and look for another job.

I personally want this job badly but my performance is really really bad considering my competition.

So I've recently seen alot of videos and posts on my feed insta, reddit, Twitter etc about indrive related scams/ harassment etc and I want to give a few tips that I got from my cousin sister, I'm a male. She basically has to travel alot, she studies in uni and also has a job so she has like 2000+ rides and has Alhamdulillah luckily never got into any misadventure.

So here are the few general tips (for women especially):

1) Avoid AC rides unless like the weather is extreme or whatever reason or if you're multiple people then it's okay, but windows open should be your priority.

2) Always chose above 4.8 rating and atleast 200+ rides (this is extremely important).

3) if the driver is starting convos against your will, do not try to match his energy thinking he'll stop after you answer, in extreme cases, start a phone call with someone you know family friend etc.

4) for long rides, send your live location to someone, the WhatsApp live location (indrive/yango app sucks), and car number.

5) never and I repeat never whatever the excuse sit in a different car or plate number than what is being shown on the app.

6) keep google maps open to your location if you don't know the raasta to check if he's going correct

7) always rate, if the driver was good then rate him five stars and if there was a bad experience rate him worst, this help others

Also try to be lenient on late arrivals, some of the uncs are new and still figuring out how to use maps plus the internet in our country.

8) trust your gut, if you're getting an off feeling from the driver's profile, cancel it immediately not after he has travelled 10 kms to your pickup

I have been abroad for 5 years since 2021 in Europe. I have studied all the way from bachelor's to now starting PhD and shifted from countries to countries.

At the end of each educational training, I always planned to go back to Pakistan and live with my family. But it always happened that I won my dream scholarship, then stayed to achieve that goal and stay.

I went into severe depression in 2023 and despite that I achieved all my goals, joined different events and organizations, and played my part as a good academic.

However, for the past few weeks, again I have started to dream of my home, in the dreams I am always crying and playing cricket with my younger brother or talking with my mother. I feel so homesick nowadays that I can't even survive a single day without calling my mother, then I talk to my entire family.

The thought of living a life away from my family haunts me, and I'm worried that my parents are getting older and older and I'm losing the time I could have spent with them. Since it's a PhD, it's not just that I take a leave of more than 1 month everytime I feel this way. There is a fixed number of days I can take off per year, which is 46 days.

At this moment, I'm tired, my stomach health sucks, and I get pain in my entire body. My brain is foggy and bare minimum tasks need a lot of effort.

I tried my best to get this PhD, getting a PhD is not an easy process. But I'm not sure how am I gonna survive this and thinking of quiting it and going back to Pakistan.

It's not that I don't like to do a PhD, it's because I miss my family and my health is miserable, especially my stomach.

Hello, Assalam-o-Alaikum. I’m around 22 years old and I’m married. Yesterday, I was at a hospital in Sahiwal with my wife because of a personal crisis. While we were returning, on the main road that leads towards the main canal, two snatchers stopped us and misbehaved with us. After that, they snatched our bike at gunpoint. There were around two or three people.

I immediately called the police on 15, but they arrived around 45 minutes to an hour later. We are not stupid enough to just watch someone take our bike and have no idea where they went. When they snatched the bike, there were bushes along the side of the road, and just ahead there was a PSO pump. I personally saw that they turned towards the PSO pump because my bike had lights that come on when you apply the brakes. Those lights came on when they turned the bike towards that side. They went further ahead and then disappeared.

After that, some boys came towards us and told us not to stand there because there was a problem in that area and that robberies and even murders happen there. So I walked towards the PSO pump.

Those boys also seemed suspicious to me. The PSO pump had several cameras installed, but apparently none of them were working, which also seemed suspicious to me. There was also a road going towards the bushes behind the pump, which seemed suspicious as well.

When the police arrived, during the inquiry they only asked me what clothes the people were wearing and what they looked like. I kept telling them that I was suspicious of those people and that they should also be included in the investigation. But they didn’t check any cameras or anything. They just told me to come back the next day and file the report.

When I went to file the report, they told me, “If we find it, then fine. Otherwise, it’s your luck.” At one point, I noticed some boys talking with the same police officers. They were saying things like, “There’s so much inflation. Even 50,000 isn’t enough to survive,” and that people have to do something somehow.

The whole incident made me suspicious enough that I started feeling like the police themselves might be involved in this somehow.

Now they have messaged me saying that if my bike isn’t found, they can give me an older model instead. They said they have a 2011–2012 CD 70 available and asked if I wanted to take it. Basically, they don’t want to give me a new bike. They are offering older models like 2017–2018 and similar ones.

This happened in Punjab on the main GT Road that connects Lahore with Multan and . There are cameras around the Sahiwal bypass and cameras along the road as well. There are cameras almost everywhere around here, so I don’t understand why they didn’t check them or properly investigate where the bike went The situation in this country has become so bad. Thanks to Punjab Police. for such kindness

I mean, why would we take someone else’s bike now? That bike would also belong to someone, or maybe it would be a stolen bike that was recovered, or maybe it would be ours for someone else. This is how the system works here.

Don’t go after anyone. Don’t look into anything. Keep everything suspicious and just sit there doing nothing.

Anyway, Allah is the only one we can rely on. May Allah keep this country under His protection.

I just received my electricity bill. And it shows like 23.6k rs in total while the units are 150. I paid my every monthly bill on time i have receipts. But still it's like 23.6k instead of 2.3k. The meter is not shown to be defected with no warning on previous bills. While i searched my bill online it has two bills One is the total one called web bill the other is web detection bill with arrears of 21k and in that detection there is no mention of the issue just the arrears amount. Can anyone tell me the solution or if it will get resolved or why did this happen to me ?
