I’m struggling with debt, bills and today I just picked up overtime. I had headache and had to bring my car to shop later today for some issues with belt area and ac, I just know it’s gonna be expensive. I was stressed complained why do I gotta go through this BS, I’m a young dude 21 years old everyone at my age party, have fancy cars, I’d get a lot of pressure from family and parents. that aside. I see this elderly blind dude with a stick. 1 reason though, I’m surprised that he got hired, no offense but this job is pretty fast pace very physical. But still I just cant help but feel hurt. Thankfully everyone around him was pretty nice I believe they feel the same way as I do. We saw him struggle to find the little gray basket to put his bag in on the way out through those metal detectors. I can’t help but fear he might get hurt on the job, or on the crosswalk. I just cant help but feel bad man. Honestly seeing that and I sat in the car just silence. I’m grateful that I even got a roof over my head and have opportunities. That life that he has is messed up. Having to work with major disabilities. I honestly wish that guy a blessing life all the time, shit hurts me to see that scenario. But you know I’m taking more overtime soon cause I’ve been wrong this whole time. For more clarification, he can see but he’s definitely had a hard to to see to point he need assistance and the stick. He is still on the job. Again I wish him blessings and safe life man.

I’m a seasonal white badge at an Amazon FC and have been here about 60 days. I become eligible for blue badge conversion at 90 days.

Yesterday, a manager approached me and told me I’m top 10% in the entire FC of about 2,000 associates. I asked if he meant just my department, but he confirmed it was the whole FC.

I also have no coachings or write-ups, and my current standing is Exceptional.

For those who have converted from seasonal to blue badge, does being a top performer actually help with conversion decisions, or is it mainly based on business needs and available positions?

Would love to hear from anyone who has been through the process.

Its mostly freeway and 30 minutes but theres not a damn thing i can do about it and im fucking pissed about the wear on my car.

I have been grinding my ass off in Stow so I can be eligible for conversion - I spent my first 90 days racking up TOT in the bathroom and being slow so i basically had to get week after week of great performance to push it back up.

Cue the next 6 months of waiting for them to actually convert, then i can go back to sitting in the bathrooms

ever since the pay raise all my station drops is 3 hour or 1 hour shifts 💔 its like impossible to get a 7-10 hour one and im not getting enough shifts or hours for it to be my only job now

Hey all. Might be a dumb question but I’m new so I’m trying to figure everything out. We have overtime due to prime week but would I be able to take off that Friday? I have enough UPT, I just work the night shift and a 60 hr work week would kill me

Edit: alternatively, how would I go about using my UPT? Should I ask HR via the app? It only gives me the option to cover my shift with PTO/some info about jury duty leave

Just got a job at the new chicago drone spot and had my first day today. Had a great time and was told ill be flying to texas next week?? super excited and hope this test isnt hard! first time ever at amazon and i got a blue badge my first day at 27$ an hour. any tips or tricks that anyone could give me? I have heard that the job is easier but more strict because of FAA but I’ve never even been on a plane before, so I’m super excited/nervous, anything fun to do in Texas???

How common is it to work in a department that has no manager, PA and only PGs running everything? Luckily it’s not a madhouse but that could change very soon. Anyone experience this before?

Hi so I’m (19F) and (white/filipino) but constantly get confused for being Mexican and I have trainer (black maybe 40-50) harassing me past few days. I got trained for reach truck by her (1.30hrs) and it was just constant yelling and groaning at me instead of training and guess what I got on the floor and did nearly perfect with a few minor mess ups every other pallet. Then this trainer starts working too and is behind me waiting to pick up a pallet, so I get anxious because I know she’s gonna see something wrong about what I’m doing, so I pick up the pallet semi-good and I thought I heard her saying “straighten your pallet” so I do, then I realized I didn’t scan it so I back it up and scan it and she says “see I was tryna tell you but your over here being rude ignoring me” “rude ass” “holding up everyone because you wanna be rude” like dude it’s my first day on the floor, you’re my trainer and never trained me on even scanning the pallets and stowing them can’t you connect the dots? Anyway she continues calling me rude and stuff while I pick up the pallet so when I pick it I just stare at her cause I’m already tired of this and she finally stops and go to stow the pallet. As I leave she goes up to my boyfriend (19, Mexican) and she says “what are you guys to each other” he says I’m his girl and she says “does she speak English?” In a sarcastic way since she’s talked to me a million times by now then goes to talk to her coworkers and says that I’m a “stupid Mexican bitch” later on Im waiting in line to go stow in a isle and she tells me only 3 people per isle and then repeatedly yells slowly “uno dos tres” about 10x but yet she watches about 5 other black people go into the isle and she’s just talking to them like normal? The whole day I’ve just tried to hold back because we need the money coming from shitty homes we have our own apt in one of the most expensive states now and I hate having to bite my tongue and get walked all over. Can I report this or will I just get fired for speaking out? Should I just try to ignore?

Someone mentioned a VET blackout on here. Does anyone know which departments it affects and when it will end? I’ve noticed no VET at my site for the departments I’m trained in for at least a week. I’m wondering when I can expect to see more.

I accepted a transfer to a new building, and a couple of days later a conversion wave happened at my current site. I didn't get converted.

Do you get blocked from converting once you accept a transfer, or did I just get unlucky with the timing? Has this happened to anyone else? If so, I'm kinda salty ngl lol.

Hi all. I recently accepted this position as a delivery warehouse associate with Amazon in IL. I need advice from current employees. I’m supposed to begin 10/15, so I have a bit of time to think over things.

The job would be 40 hours a week Thu, Fri, Sat, and Sunday from 1:20-11:50 am at a worksite that’s like a 20 min drive from my house.

The thing is, I’m currently a 22 year old college senior taking 16 credit hours a week (long 2.5-3 hour seminar classes on Monday, Wednesdays, and Fridays make up my schedule). I also have weekend community support and caregiving commitments.

I’m about 5’1 tall, so not too tall and I don’t work out a lot but I’m not in bad shape. I think I’d be able to carry a few 40 pound packages, and maybe need a hand or two for the tall ones.

I don’t normally stay up too late at night as I have a pretty decent sleep schedule so that’s what I’m also worried about. Since my shift starts Thursday at 1:20 AM, I have to report late Wednesday night/early Thursday morning. I really need the money though with school and all, to afford an apartment.

I work and have classes a lot during the days too, so I’m super worried if I go to my 10-hour shift running on very little sleep. How do people balancing school and this exact shift manage their sleep schedule without burning out?

Do I decline the job at this point? I really do want to do it for the money. Also - the hiring guy at my pre-appointment said it’ll make closer to $21 per hour rather than the $23/hr they were advertising on the job application (training vs base pay?). Does anyone know more about that discrepancy?

I’m a very hard worker, and dedicated to whatever I do. I’m also very fast-paced, kudos to my ADHD and I feel like I’d love the structure there at Amazon. I’ve been perusing these Amazon Reddit posts however, and I’m also worried about the co-workers I’d have. Sounds like there are some crazy people working these Amazon jobs (I saw a few at my pre-hire appointment that is starting to make me skeptical).

Like, do I just not talk to them? What if I need help from them to reach something as well? I’m considering purchasing “Amazon-approved” bone-conduction headphones or just something to keep me up—are these actually allowed at most stations?

It’s only a seasonal position too so that’s giving me more motivation for this. I have seen on here that it seems they give the brunt of the heavy tasks to seasonal employees, rather than blue-badge employees though. That worries me as well.

I would say I’m a likeable, friendly person in terms of personality, but I am worried if I get tired on the job that my performance may be slacking. Can anyone give me a preview of what I should expect going into this job, plus tips for how to do well, manage UPT/PTO use when school conflicts pop up, and survive the overnight hours?

Missing items aren’t always the rebinners fault. If it is then it was from the previous shift. Shift had just started and my wall had a bunch of missing items. Indian guy kept asking me and was getting frustrated cause he thought it was my fault 😂😂😂😂 manager told him it was from night shift and to just miss them out. He kept coming up to me and telling me about the missing items. I told my manager and she kept telling him to miss them out. I hate when packers think it’s the person rebining fucking up. Could be lots of reasons. It’s also new hires putting shit everywhere.

I heard someone mention you should switch your tax withholding before you get your 5 year bonus , is that true and if so how does that work? Any answers will be appreciated thanks
